The Morning Report — 5/ 7/26

Bassduck.jpg

Good morning kids. I recall a wise-ass riddle from my childhood that went What word starts with an "F" and ends in "-u-c-k?" The echo of childish tittering from long ago and far away fades into the abject revulsion of today:

The slip occurred when the debate segued into the destructive Palisades Fire of 2025 and reports that dozens of fire trucks were in need of repair prior to that fateful day. It was when Bass had to utter the word “trucks” that another word slipped out. “So yes, there were fire trucks that were broken, but there were also fire fucks,” Bass said before she immediately corrected herself to say “trucks that were out of use.”

No it's not the broken trucks that were the problem it was her and Gavin Newsom's politically-driven ineptitude and incompetence that caused one of the most expensive and beautiful neighborhoods in Los Angeles and America to be reduced to ashes and rubble, and more than a year later to remain a ruin and a monument to insane leftist policies. "Fire Fucks" indeed. Both of them should have been fired long ago and in a sane world should never have been within a billion light years from any position of political power. And it's not just them but the political party and movement that they are floating near the top of. Barring some unforeseen dark horse candidate Greasy Greaseball Newsom, despite being white, male and publicly non-homo, will probably be at the top of the ticket in 2028.

As a reminder, California was once the 6th largest economy in the world, and a place that for generations Americans flocked to, as a place to live the American dream. Now people with an ounce of sanity are fleeing California in droves. The Democrats are not necessarily worried about that . . .

Democrat California Gov. candidate Katie Porter inadvertently revealed the real reason leftist politicians are pushing for sanctuary cities.

Porter let the mask slip during Tuesday night’s gubernatorial debate and admitted that illegal immigration is one of “the only ways [California] has been growing in recent years,” seemingly embracing the replacement of American residents with foreigners. Notably, the deep blue state has welcomed illegals to the tune of millions while an estimated 10 million California residents have fled the state in the last decade.

And as if you weren't aware, they may be here illegally but every one of them is a registered Democrat who votes, early and often I'd bet. And for their troubles they are given welfare to the tune now of hundreds of billions of dollars, as was uncovered in Minnesota and in Ohio and surprise, surprise California.

Elsewhere this item just underscores the utter evil of Democrat/Leftism:

A Chicago alderman is calling for “corporate” criminal charges against the pharmacy chain Walgreens for its plan to close a store on the city’s troubled South Side over concerns over retail theft and violence at the drugstore. “We’re not here to beg Walgreens to stay,” Ward 6 Alderman Will Hall said at news conference, surrounded by local community members. “We are saying that their decision is the wrong decision my opinion. In my opinion, it should be considered a first-degree corporate crime. Because the amount of people that will be hurt by this, the amount of elders who will not have access to healthcare is evil.”

What's evil is causing the breakdown of the family and decriminalizing crime while blaming free market capitalism, America and our society which allowed Chicago to become a one-time flourishing megalopolis, unlike the decaying hellhole it is today thanks to vermin like this alderman and his ilk.

Well, once this Mamdani-wannabe seizes the means of production and all private property, paradise on earth will be achieved, just like in the Soviet Union. Or Cuba.

And speaking of Cuba:

During a press briefing on Cuba on Tuesday, Jayapal spoke about how, in January, President Donald Trump had signed an executive order “declaring a national emergency over the threats to America posed by Cuba.” In a post on X, Scott responded to Jayapal’s comments in which she described the sanctions against countries giving oil to Cuba, and firms and banks working with Cuba, as “an economic bombing of the infrastructure of Cuba.”

“DISTURBING: @RepJeffries and @HouseDemocrats, members of your party are OPENLY admitting to aiding a communist adversary in coordination with foreign countries to VIOLATE American sanctions,” Scott wrote. “@POTUS put those sanctions in place to keep Americans SAFE and to hold the Castro/Díaz-Canel regime accountable for their crimes.”

So, where are the arrests and prosecutions RIck Scott, and President Trump?! The world wonders...

Have a good day!

Not that I put my trust in Trump but that doesn't sound like him.

Is it true that the closure of the SoH is economically choking Iran to death?

How is the closure affecting China?

Trump said another week. Trump's China trip is next week.

I wonder. I wouldn't put money on either which-way things may go.

Iran's assertion that they control who gets to pass through the Hormuz and how much it costs is never going to stand. Just yesterday, a F/A-18 Hornet from the USS Lincoln used it's 20mm gun to disable an Iranian ship by disabling its rudder while attempting to run the US blockade.

41 I’ve seen the usual suspects complain about “food deserts” in my old stomping grounds.

One entrepreneur started an “All In” Grocery store, and by golly it was going to he great. Serve the “community” and the rest of it. He got all kinds of grants, loans, special tax breaks. Anyone expressing financial skepticism was accused of racism. Construction lagged for about 4 or 5 years, and more skepticism.

Finally it opened to much fan fare. It didn’t last 6 months. Where’d all that money go? They had claimed to be the first grocery store in the area, which wasn’t true. They claimed the only reason there were no grocery stores was because of racism. The only color grocery stores care about is green.

The Hy-Vee store had been there maybe 10 years, but it closed after “All-In” grocery opened up, citing “performance issues”. Uh-huh. Now they have no grocery stores.

The local rag interviewed the locals and all the usual bullshit allegations ensued. Nobody can even mention just exactly why these establishments can’t make a profit. Weird, huh? Stupid bastards.

44 31 The Iranian people have no internet but they have radios and televisions. I don't know how successful it was but the AF had a project in the Stan called Commando Solo. This was a C130 set up as a flying broadcast station. Radios were even airdropped to remote (90% of the shithole) parts of the country. With the amount of naval assets in the Gulf area one could essentially set up a pirate radio station aboard a ship and have means to defeat any Iranian jamming.

And as I said yesterday, wars are unpredictable, and you don't always get what you want the way you want it or at all...especially if you start by hamstringing yourself.

I still think Trump initially got convinced that the winter uprisings combined with the decapitation strike and initial defense destruction would flip the country favorably to us. It did not. Now, he's trying to figure out how to extracate with the most gains for us (which right now, seems to be the furthest kick down the road).

He doesn't want to be the starter of the next Vietnam or Afgjanistan or even Iraq 2...the perpetual war that saps the morale of everyone, drains our budgets, and never gets really won. At least in our favor.

Iranian figures are putting out statements publicly mocking and laughing at the US for the collapse of the plan to escort ships through the straits. The Saudis and the UAE are furious that the US is refusing for now to retaliate for any missiles fired at their countries, to the point that the Saudis have now threatened to refuse to allow the US to use Saudi bases to support the operation.

Last Thursday night, it is reported that Hegseth and others recommended a much stronger response, and that Trump turned them down.

Trump appears to be listening to advisors who say high oil prices are damaging his political standing, and that he should just find a way to claim victory and leave, allowing the Iranian regime to maintain full control. The Iranians are now openly expecting this.

Hoover dam, Hanford, Oak Ridge, government can move very fast when it wants to, and get things done.

If something doesn’t happen, you can be sure somebody wants it that way, too. Illegal migration and Border enforcement for example. Tens of millions pouring across the border isn’t a “mistake” or some sort of bureaucratic oversight.

101 WSJ is big mad that Trump got involved in the Indiana primaries. They believe he ousted good republicans for the faulty idea that new districts in the state will be run by republicans. The claim is that Indiana went 59% for Trump, and he’s looking to make it a 9-0 republican house seat state- which they say (and the former representatives say) won’t happen. The argument is it will dilute the Republican vote, and with the coming democrat wave in the midterms is going to eventually cost republicans seats. They add that Republicans lost another special election in the Michigan senate yesterday, further swinging the state left which is now a national trend.

“She wants to see her husband easing up and spending more time with her, enjoying what remains of our lives,” Obama said, adding that the pressure remains to be politically active against the Trump administration, despite the precedent of past presidents retiring out of politics altogether. “It does create a genuine tension in our household, and it frustrates her.”

Election Fraud has obviated this. Votes no longer seem to matter. There is an ebb and flow to politics and the parties, but the Democrats have been very focused on One Party Rule for 25 years now, they have decided to short circuit the whole process. That’s my take on it anyway.

They certainly don’t seem inclined to moderate or tack to the center or compromise, they won’t acknowledge the electorate overwhelmingly rejects their policies. Nothing else makes sense. Even Biden stated publicly “I don’t need your vote!”; why would he say that? Well, he also said “we have the most inclusive voting fraud system” or something along those lines. A gaffe, maybe. 195 You finish what you start.

There are several hallmarks of the failed war strategy we’ve experienced since 9-11. First and foremost is the lack of a battle plan with stable mission objectives that dictated the end of conflict. We stayed in Iraq and Afghanistan because the those mission objectives, set by civilian leadership, constantly shifted with the political winds. That wasn’t a military failure. It was a leadership failure. I’ve often made the point we won Afghanistan in a few months with roughly two ODA’s and a bunch of NA insurgent fighters. That’s exhibit one.

Ultimately we failed to execute a battle plan that properly applied the maximum force needed to meet the objectives quickly and decisively. War is ugly. People die. A lot of shit gets broken. The question becomes what is your capacity for sacrifice versus what you will gain based on your objectives.

A battle plan is not immutable. It may shift to take advantage of events in the battle space. However the mission objectives should always stay the same. If they do not, you are constantly moving the ball and forcing battlefield adaptations that were not planned for. That heightens risk.
You choose where we are now.

204 A clarification to Ted Turner's "accomplishments:" CNN was not his original concept. The idea of a fourth network was pioneered by former ABC Radio network president Bob Pauley, its first iteration in1968. He secured funding in 1973 for a "fair and balanced" news network (his original coinage, not Fox's). His TVN (Television News Network) was financed by conservative Joe Coors of Coors Brewery. TVN provided original footage and feeds to stations dissatisfied with the Big Three. It was gaining ground when Coors, facing unrelated tax problems, pulled funding. TVN executives Roger Ailes and Reese Schonfeld (both of whom Pauley had hired) went on, respectively, to develop Fox and Turner's CNN. Turner certainly deserves credit for building CNN into the goliath it became, but the conceptual path had been carved and the model created.

Wipe out every race-based district.

Eliminate every state Dem seat possible.

They have torn this country apart with their racial-communism-- it's long-past time to eliminate their ability to use race as a weapon.

Posted by: I gotta ask at May 07, 2026 08:40 AM (2Ez/1)

What this means, in plain English, is that 3 days ago Iran attacked the UAE with missiles and drones. The UAE expected the US to retaliate, but instead the US told them “well we’re trying to make a deal, so just pretend like it didn’t happen.”

The Saudis and presumably the UAE, who have been our biggest regional supporters, are saying “well if that’s the new deal, then we’re out.”
And Iran knows this and is laughing at the weakness we’re showing now.

238 The IRGC has been targeting other Gulf State's oil refineries and shipping terminals as reprisal for helping the US. They hit the UAE pretty hard a couple days ago, crippling one of their terminals. The Saudis have always been skittish about letting the US base warplanes in their country. Fickle little shits that they are.

The protection plan in place by the US has ships transit the Hormuz in an area deemed safe, close to Oman. Several cruise ships used this route weeks ago on a mass "break out" of the Persian Gulf where they'd been trapped.

As I've been saying; commercial shippers have a say on whether the Hormuz is safe or not. Crews have to be willing to run a ship in this area and not get shot at. Insurers have to be content with The Plan™ as well.

This statement, while perhaps noble in its intent, is not the reality in Adolescent Gender Clinics. I submit that the feedback loop that is created when a troubled teen tearfully hugs the doctor, nurse or counselor and sobs, "You are the first person who ever really, really understands me..." is such a powerful positive motivator for the provider that rational analysis of the evidence goes right out the window allowing the provider to ignore simple biologic reality. You could call it Gender Clinic Affirming Care.

In the seventy two hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element--the British weather. Britain's chief meteorological officer James Stagg (Scott) is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on. With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower. With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.

293 257 This statement, while perhaps noble in its intent, is not the reality in Adolescent Gender Clinics.

356 Obama has been exposed as patient zero in America’s sickness. He took the trust people put in him and used it against them.

What he did is demonstrable. He took what was almost a post-racial America, proven ironically by his election, and turned people against each other. He weaponized the government against the very people who elected him. He further used the government and its resources to undermine the opposition political candidate. He perpetrated that fraud knowingly and with evil intent. He was the first to weaponize the justice system against his political enemies with the person driving the charge.

He knows it. We all know it now. It’s there for everyone to see. Whatever influence he had has been tainted and revealed as both biased and corrupt by the span of time.

F him. He should be in jail.

The City and State have lost their appeal to overturn the trial court's denial of their demurrers to the fire victims' master complaint. The justices also denied the States' request for a stay of the case. The City and State have played all of their cards and lost. The case now moves forward full speed.

He's voiced The Joker in the Batman video games, and apparently, it's very good. Seems he's absorbed a little too much of that character. . .

384 That’s a meme that’s been repeated endlessly, and it’s not actually true. Wells can be shut in, it happens all the time. Now due to geological issues some of their wells may not come back and produce at the same rate, but that’s a guess, not a certainty. The Iranian leadership will risk it.

The work-over business in our own oil patch has been re-opening old/shutdown wells for decades. It's not new technology.

I think he got that from doing a great job as Joker in Batman: The Animated Series. Though I think I'm just reinforcing Bulg's point...
