Left-wing Terrorist Set Fire to the Palisades to Honor the Democrats' Murderer-Hero, Luigi Mangione

The Party of Plunder... and Murder.

Alleged Palisades arsonist became 'fixated' with Luigi Mangione, said blaze started 'out of resentment of the rich': prosecutors

The deranged firebug accused of igniting the devastating Palisades Fire had become "fixated" on Luigi Mangione in the lead-up to the deadly blaze -- and then allegedly suggested the inferno was started out of "resentment of the rich," prosecutors said.

Jonathan Rinderknecht, 30, was obsessed with the accused health care CEO killer and had routinely searched "free Luigi Mangione" and "lets take down all the billionaires" online, court documents show.

In the weeks and hours before allegedly sparking the blaze that triggered the catastrophic Palisades Fire, Rinderknecht -- who worked as an Uber driver -- ranted to customers about Mangione's arrest, too.

"Many of defendant's Uber passengers on December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025, described defendant as angry, intense, driving erratically, and ranting about being 'pissed off at the world' and Luigi Mangione, capitalism, and vigilantism," prosecutors noted in a trial memorandum.

When asked why someone would ultimately set the blaze, Rinderknecht allegedly responded that it "would be out of resentment of the rich enjoying their money as 'we're basically being enslaved by them' and compared such an act of 'desperation' to the murder for which Mangione was charged," according to the memo.

He murdered 12 people and caused hundreds of billions of damage.

More at Instapundit.

Meanwhile, young stupid "students" continuing agitating for political violence and calling for assassins to "stop missing" Trump.

Moron podcaster Charlamagne the Idiot also justifies violence.

We'll see if they hold to that opinion when the big bad right begins agreeing with them.

36 It always amazes me that most gripes about insurance companies are made by people that never took the time to understand the actual definition of "insurance."

It's not an end all catch all item. It is a Safety net item. There are conditions, exclusions, obligations of mitigation etc. And those that complain likely never took the time to read the policy to have advance knowledge of what they are paying for. Instead, they very immaturely assume falsely that everything will be paid for.

In Oregon employers are required to provide insurance for any full time employee, so a lot of employers have few full time employees and a lot of employees that work 30 or so hours a week. And to make ends meet they get to work multiple jobs, some working 60 hour weeks with no overtime pay.

Because the State of Oregon, as embodied by the Governor, Legislature and Judiciary love them and want them to not be treated as slaves.

I can answer that. LAFD first wanted to bulldoze the burn area but were ordered not to because of the presence of an endangered weed. That's right, and endangered...weed...

They then wanted to post a shovel crew overnight, but were ordered out of the area because the county didn't want to pay for OT.

The arsonist started the fire, that much is clear. If there were any adults running LA instead of commies and lesbos, he'd be looking at a misdemeanor and a fine, after pleading down the arson charge...

70 The rich are usually the smartest, hard working and disciplined.

Bullshit.

Wealth in America is a mix of:

What you started with
Luck
Your ability to generate value for other people

For any rich or poor person you can find a mix of these factors. Leftists pretend only the first two matter...which is why socialist societies stagnate.

And in fairness on the right I think we sometimes ascribe too much to the last point

But most importantly from the perspective of society if you make sure people are well rewarded for generating value - few regulations, low taxes - then society gets more goods and services.

This is almost a Pascal's wager type thing. Assume most fairly gotten wealth (eg not government grifting) is the result of hard/smart work and everyone will be wealthier for it. Assume that it is all luck and stealing from the poor and we will all be poorer

Posted by: 18-1 at May 06, 2026 05:04 PM (sKqQm)

71 "If you see a guy - or a gal - that risked their money and hit it big first generation in anything ? A coffee shop. Tanning beds. Whatever. Well ... that person, first of all, got somewhat lucky. "

Luck does not play a big a factor as dedication, hard work, and picking the right business in the first place.

87 Oh the mouthy ignorant bigot returns. That's nice.

Friend who's very experienced retired CalFire confirms that the crews who followed up on initial fire didn't do SOP (i.e. they effed up, big time). This was the fire set by the insect under discussion.

And there's a lot of ignorance and false understandings about the fire. Much of it took place under conditions where the only "tactic" is evacuation, there is no "fighting" it. And circumstances were a perfect storm of sorts for that area. Huge excess demand for water, all at the same time, modern plumbing (every property with plastic piping becomes a "leak"), and up-slope location of much of the area = serious water resource issue.

The politicos and voters are variously just as absurd, unfit, stupid, and vile as they appear. But the fire story goes far beyond them.

The arsonist started the fire, that much is clear. If there were any adults running LA instead of commies and lesbos, he'd be looking at a misdemeanor and a fine, after pleading down the arson charge...
