The Long-Awaited Defenestration of the Philosopher Kings

JJ mentioned this but I really wanted to post about it.

I've seen some establishment-oriented "conservatives" using Tuq'r Qarlson and Nick Fuentes and Withered Aryan Hooker Me-Again Kelly as proof that we should never have aligned with "the populists."

Nonsense. There are bad apples in every bunch. And in case the establishment pussies didn't notice, it was the populists -- not the establishment c**ts whom no one trusts or respects -- who drove the bad-actor Nazis and Islamists out of the party.

Jonah Goldberg and David French and the Bulwark Krue did not exorcise Candace Owens and Ian Carroll from the movement. We did.

I mention this because the establishment and populists disagree sharply on one fundamental point of representational governance.

The establishment types, like the "journalists" whose good opinion they so desperately crave, falsely believe that they are some really smart customers. No one believes they are smart, except for they themselves. But they are absolutely convinced on this point. They have argued with themselves about how genius they are and they won that argument with themselves, because they're so wise and persuasive.

This leads to their theory of respresentational governance: We, the stupid people who are incapable of higher-level, abstract, future-oriented thought, have elected these Sages and Philosophers to do our thinking for us.

When we elect these c**ts, that is the end of our involvement in the political process. Our further thoughts are not welcome because we are so gosh-darn bad at thinking we would just exhaust the lucid minds of Philosopher Kings with our retarded ramblings. The establishment does not seek our counsel, it only seeks our grant of power to it, One Time, after which they will literally never again check in with us.

And I say "One Time" because of the fact -- which may be changing (Spoiler Alert) -- that once an establishment c**t has Conned the Rubes into granting them perpetual unchecked power, they essentially have it for life, or until they're found balls-deep inside a 15-year-old boy, because it's very hard to boot an incumbent out of office, particularly in a district or state that is strong for one party.

Contrasting with this theory of governance in which the brain-damaged troglodytes of the dirty masses grant power to establishment Philosopher Kings a single time and then let them do what their massively-powerful brains and consciences compel them to do, the brain-damaged troglodytes have a different theory altogether.

We don't think we elect these pissant mediocrities to do our thinking for us. We think we've done the thinking ourselves. We think we've done the thinking, and we elect these no-talent, no-accomplishment Student Council Vice Treasurers and Disappointed Theater Kids to heed our thinking and merely do our voting in legislative bodies for us.

Now I realize we probably "think" this because our Retard-Brains are glitching and misfiring as usual, but still, we would like to be heard on this point.

But, because it's almost impossible to get voters animated enough to vote these self-declared Philosopher Kings out of office in one-party states or districts, the establishment types who believe we've elected them to do our thinking for us been permitted to carry on acting as if we elected them to do our thinking for us, and we have not had any practical, repeatable method of correction and punishment for this grievously false conception of their role in government.

Until now, my fellow morons and brain-damaged troglodytes who have no capacity for higher-level thought.

The Philosopher Kings serving as state representatives and senators in Indiana, which, let's face it, is the government equivalent of a job as Arby's Night Manager, decided that comity with the Democrats and the good opinion of the leftwing media was far, far more important that the voters' decision that redrawing congressional districts was imperative as we close in on the most important midterms in a century.

The voters finally got their say. We won't get those lines redrawn, but we will have no representation going forward.

President Trump proved to be a kingmaker in Tuesday night's Indiana and Ohio Republican primaries, where his seal of approval propelled several GOP candidates to landslide victories.

In Indiana, Trump's revenge campaign against incumbent state senators who torpedoed his push last year to redraw the Hoosier State's congressional boundaries was largely successful -- with the president's preferred candidates winning five of six contests.

"Everyone in Indiana politics should have learned an important lesson today: President Trump is the single most popular Republican among Hoosier voters," Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) said in a statement.

I'm not so big on praising Trump here, because I didn't really elect him to do my thinking for me, either. But he's right on this issue and extremely right on the question of disciplining and ejecting arrogant, defiant "representatives."

"Indiana is a conservative state, and we deserve conservatives in our State Senate who have a pulse on Republican voters," he added.

That, on the other hand, I agree with 100%.

...

The victories by Trump-backed candidates were decisive.

Trevor De Vries topped Indiana state Sen. Dan Dernulc by a 75%-24% margin; Tracey Powell beat state Sen. Jim Buck in a 65%-35% race; and Brian Schmutzler and Michelle Davis defeated state Sens. Linda Rogers and Greg Walker, respectively, by 18-point margins.

The first incumbent taken out by Trump was longtime Indiana state Sen. Travis Holdman, who has been in office since 2008 and is a member of Indiana Senate leadership.

Holdman was bested by Blake Fiechter by a 61%-39% margin.

At press time, Indiana state Sen. Greg Goode was the only incumbent opposed to redistricting who was able to fend off a Trump-backed primary challenge.

Goode defeated Brenda Wilson in the state's District 38 primary, where a third Republican candidate in the race, Alexandra Wilson, received about 10% of the vote.

The White House had pressured Alexandra Wilson to get out of the race ahead of Tuesday's primary, reportedly over concerns her candidacy would confuse voters attempting to cast ballots for Brenda Wilson.

The base isn't stupid. Rule #1 of being a Republican officeholder: do not weaken your own voters' electoral power.

Some Indiana State Senators thought they were clever and didn't have to obey this rule. They will be private citizens shortly.

No Murkowskis:

Indiana has a sore loser law.

They can't run after losing a primary.

Go to hell, Fake Christian Narcissist. Christ did not mandate your re-election.

16 The American political system is supposed to keep politicians in fear that if they don't do what the electorate wants they'll be voted out.

Did this State Senator bother to see what his voters wanted him to do? Obviously not.

Or imagine an analogy. I hire a man to replace my roof. He agrees to it and gives me a basic layout of what he is going to do.

And then after I pay him he instead decides my roof is fine and instead tears down my deck.

The truly amazing thing is that RINO barnacles like Travis Holdman simply can't accept that we, the people, have the sheer effrontery to kick him to the curb. 32 Indiana is also indicative of something I've thought for a while.

It would take an immaterial amount of money (for a national political organization) to push a state party hard to the right.

A few million bucks in signs, and suddenly name recognition for the challengers to the 10 most left GOPers in the state house is greater for those in the state house.

The state just took out something like 20% of its GOP state senators in one night.

39 I wouldn’t give Trump the credit either, and ultimately it’s not about him. MAGA is an idea. It’s founded in first principles, the core of which is that elected representatives carry out the people’s will.

Got that? Not a party. Not a donor. Not the Camber of Commerce. Not a defense contractor. Not your mistress or boy toy.

Ours.

The constitution firmly states who the owners of this government are. It’s not Trump, nor anyone else. It’s all of us.

The reason Trump has been so successful is he’s going a simple thing. He’s driving an agenda that is unquestionably the will of a vast majority of the people who elected him. Imagine that.

Long after he’s gone and by God, grace I will be voting for anyone who sticks to that same core principle.

I've been watching a scenario play out in MA that is almost comical.

The voters approved an initiative to give the State Auditor (a Dem of course) the power to do an audit of the state legislature.

To the State Auditor's credit she took up the challenge...and every other elected Dem is fighting here - and they are fighting dirty calling her all sorts of names even...gasp...a REPUBLICAN.

Now, why would they all fight an audit in such lock step? There is really only one reason...because they know what would come out...

A top Virginia Democrat's office has been raided by the FBI in a dramatic anti-corruption investigation.

Virginia Senator Louise Lucas watched stunned as agents tore through her office - as well as a neighboring cannabis dispensary she co-owns in Portsmouth, around 20 miles west of Virginia Beach, on Wednesday.

The FBI raid is linked to a 'major corruption probe,' Fox News reported, adding that the bureau is 'serving multiple search warrants, approved by a federal judge, at her office and a next-door cannabis dispensary.'

Lucas, 82, the highest ranking member of the Virginia Senate as President Pro Tempore, was captured arriving on the scene as the FBI searched her office, per a live broadcast from the event.

Lucas told reporters on the scene that she did not know the reason for the raid.

Lucas was a key advocate of Virginia's 10-1 congressional map redistricting push.

82 Virginia's recent referendum on redistricting was flown by the Democrats as making for fair representation, yet there was nothing fair about the new map. Just draw all the districts fairly. Let Fairfax County vote blue until their balls fall off. Leave the rest of us alone. I do not want to see maps redrawn by the Republicans in the same janky manner, but I would say that is near impossible, just by looking at voting patterns. It's a red country with blue enclaves. A congressional map should look like that.

86 we should never have aligned with "the populists."

Well....
It's not that we shouldn't align with the populists, it's that we shouldn't base our platform on populism. Because what the majority of the people believe or feel at any one moment may be transitory and/or wrong. "The people" are not always right - as a matter of fact, in a place where the populace is easily swayed, the people are usually wrong.

Your better bet is to have a set of principles - preferably ones that haven't changed "with the times" - against which you hold up policies, opinions, and events, and judge them. Then you go about convincing the people about the correctness thereof. THEN you get that majority to vote to do (or not do) something.

It's the major problem with our government today. We keep talking about accountability. But our system is designed to have the people do the accountability. And they (some important portion) just aren't interested anymore.

🇩🇰 Copenhagen's Green-led council is limiting elderly care residents to 80 grams of beef per week for climate reasons.
That works out to 11.4 grams a day, which is less meat than most people put in a single taco.

A Green party rep explained the logic: the elderly "have been the biggest climate sinners throughout their lives."

So the plan is apparently to make them atone for it in their final years, one thimble of mince at a time.
Critics, including opposition parties and elderly advocates, say the policy risks undernutrition in a population already vulnerable to it.
The council says it's flexible, but the elderly eating climate penance for dinner might disagree.

123 Though the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the legality of SB 54 in 2019, the lawsuit filed Tuesday challenges that law and others on different legal grounds. It alleges that California’s various laws offering some benefits to undocumented immigrants amount to a violation of part of the human-smuggling statute — U.S. Code Section 1324 — that makes it a felony when a person “encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States.”

We now know all the subversive things that were going on at the time about which Trump and some around him knew were true. You can’t call it anything but a coup attempt. And yet, here’s Pence firmly aligning himself with the corrupt institutions of our government making an attempt to undermine it.

Go back and look. Pence had no curiosity about it. No real resistance in fact he more so aligned with the corrupt forces who undermined the election and POTUS without any hesitation. Ergo He was complicit by his lack of introspection, forceful expression of support, or at least the need to investigate. He walked the political line to save his own skin. Had it not been for people like Nunes, Jordan and others, plus Trump’s persistence , we could have lost this country and Pence by his lack of courage would have been one reason.

The sequel trilogy did $4.47B at the box office. Force Awakens $2.07B, Last Jedi $1.33B, Rise of Skywalker $1.07B. The merchandise tells a different story.

Star Wars merchandise peaked at $700M in 2015 when Force Awakens launched. By 2019, the year Rise of Skywalker shipped with a billion-dollar marketing push as the supposed finale of the Skywalker Saga, Hasbro's Star Wars line was doing roughly $150M. A 70%+ collapse during the trilogy's own theatrical run.

Then 2020 happened. No new movies. A streaming show legally unavailable in most international markets. Hasbro's Star Wars revenue grew 70% year-over-year. One character named Grogu outsold three years of sequel-trilogy merchandise.

The sequel cast specifically can't move inventory at any price point. Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, Holdo: Walmart clearance for years. Diamond Select's president said sales on TFA and TLJ products "were not too strong." Hasbro silently stopped producing Rise of Skywalker figures mid-line. There is no mass-market action figure for Poe, Finn, Lando, unmasked Kylo, Palpatine, or Leia from that movie. The licensees gave up.

Copenhagen's Green-led council is limiting elderly care residents to 80 grams of beef per week for climate reasons.

No, it's for money reasons. Useless eaters need to be exterminated.
Posted by: Hadrian the Seventh at May 06, 2026 01:05 PM (HdYcL)

Its for money reasons, but limiting the nursing home residents to one about 3 oz serving of beef a week is not exterminating them, they may just be using cheaper sources of protein than beef. The work cafeteria rarely serves beef anymore, lots of chicken and some pork. We pay for the meals but they probably don't want to charge extra very often to cover the cost of having beef so they buy the cheaper meats. They always have a tofu or other vegan protein option as well, which don't sell very well even in the peoples republic of Boulder.

Yep. The GDR would dump its elderly in West Berlin for that reason. They didn’t want to pay for their medical care or much else besides.

"Turner once called observers of Ash Wednesday 'Jesus freaks', though he apologized, and dubbed opponents of abortion 'bozos'.

"In 1999, Turner made a joke about Polish mine detectors when asked about Pope John Paul II.

In 2002, Turner accused Israel of terror: 'The Palestinians are fighting with human suicide bombers, that's all they have. The Israelis ... they've got one of the most powerful military machines in the world. The Palestinians have nothing. So who are the terrorists? I would make a case that both sides are involved in terrorism.'

"Turner also said in the interview that he advocated Americans having no more than two children. In 2010, he stated that China's one-child policy should be implemented."
