The Morning Report — 5/ 1/26

ComeyBury.jpg

Good morning kids. Mayday Mayday Mayday!!! Yay, it's May. Before diving into the current events, I want to take a moment to reflect and remember the more than 100 million lives snuffed out by Communism and all its manifestations in barely a century. And considering that this malignancy still controls quite a few nations on this planet, the number of victims will continue to grow though mercifully at a much slower rate. This is due in large part to the leadership, bravery and moral rectitude of Ronald Reagan and Pope John-Paul II, both of whom politically and spiritually defied the odds and a corrupt culture that despised them for defying them and wanting to change the global order and put civilization back on track and in so doing liberated millions from the evil Soviet bloc by bringing it crashing down. Both survived assassination attempts for their troubles. The world changed for the better because of them and here we are nearly 50 years later, not necessarily out of the woods as is evidenced by retrograde forces determined to drag America and what remains of western civilization back to the dark ages, to a collectivist/technocratic tyrannical hell-on-earth, in alliance with global Islam, but at least we are in a much better position to if not prevent then at least forestall that fate.

I'll go out on a limb and state that both Reagan and John Paul II paved the way for the ascendancy of Donald Trump. No wonder he too has dodged and in one instance taken a would-be assassin's bullet. As much of the world has either retreated or conspired with both the Chi-Coms and Islam, President Trump has taken on both much to the contempt and bitter hatred of their allies and defenders, especially here at home.

The Red Chinese may yet suffer the same fate as their progenitors in the former Soviet Union. As for Islam, the prospects of it either reforming itself from within or somehow burning itself out considering the oceans of blood it has spilled for over 1500 years in its overt goal of global conquest are dim to say the least. While no one can predict the future, for sure Donald Trump may very well be one of the most positively transformational figures in American if not world history. Of course this presupposes a permanent shift back to a pro-American and western political/cultural society once his tenure ends.

Have a great weekend!

14 Oy vey. I just saw that the US State Department returned hundreds of rare artifacts that were ascertained to have been stolen from Italy and sold in the US market over the years, along with a mash note about how great Italy is.

We should have stuffed them all in the Smithsonian, in a special exhibit called "1/1,000,000th of What These Dirty, Cannoli-Rolling Greasers Owe Us."

Those foreign devils don't have any American treasures to exchange, and if they did, they wouldn't.

19 About the Progressive Pastors- PJ media has a quote "woman pastor ( shocker)" as if all woman pastors are like this. They aren't. I find the stuff quoted there egregiously bad. I have never said anything like that in my entire pastoral career and wouldn't . I think the woman running for Congress who married two Satanists is an embarrassment and should have been removed. If they were Satanists they couldn't have a fellow Satanist to officiate at the wedding?! Stop being "nice"because they looked at each other tenderly Bleeech!

Additionally , they are equally progressive male pastors who say horrendously bad stuff

And no, I don't want to debate the ordination of women. Nobody is going to change my mind and I won't change theirs

P.S. I am going to donate to the campaign of the man running against this person.

21 Sheinbaum mentioned the case of Salvador Cienfuegos, a former Secretary of the Army who had been indicted and arrested in the U.S. on drug charges. Due to political pleading from Mexico’s government, the U.S. Justice Department sent Cienfuegos to Mexico to allow them to prosecute him first. However, as soon as Cienfuegos arrived in Mexico, then-President Andrés Manuel López Obrador freed him and soon afterward awarded him a medal.

26 Has anyone asked Martha Stewart if she believes it's unjust that "Jimmy Drama" Comey is getting indicted for his sea shells?

As a young prosecutor who needed to make his bones, Comey put Martha in jail for deleting and then undeleting a text message. Also, for lying to the FBI agents who showed up at her door unnanounced (that's if you believe that their later-filed report was truthful and accurate.)

That's all Comey had. He knew Martha never inside-traded and so he didn't include inside-trading charges, just charges for obstructing an investigation into crimes that Martha didn't commit.

41 USA Today: I voted for Harris in 2024. She shouldn't run in 2028.
Instead of standing up for the people who voted for her, former Vice President Kamala Harris has been absent from a conversation that Democrats should be easily winning.

I think that’s literally everyone’s opinion. We voted for her because she was the better option of the two, but by no means was the “best” option overall.

Anyone who thinks they can win should run. But I want a real, competitive primary. No "turns" or coronations, 4+ candidates duking it out. We have the right to choose the candidate.

Do we though? The DNC has shown in the past that they will hand pick their candidates. And before I get flack from anyone, I'm as liberal as liberals can be.

She is a very talented and competent person. No doubt about that for sure. But she did run in the primary in 2019 and Bernie and JoeB were the front runners. She had her chance in 2019 and didn't convert it to a nomination.

@KatieDaviscourt
Breaking: An Oregon man has been convicted of shining high-powered lasers at a CBP helicopter in an anti-immigration enforcement attack.

Brian K. Kapileo Nepaial, 38, of Aloha, faces up to 45 years in federal prison and a $5,250,000 fine.

The laser attack came in response to the Trump admin’s crackdown on anti-ICE rioters in Portland last year, which included the deployment of helicopters to deter criminal behavior.

102 Leftist whites won't vote for a leftist black. This is for two reasons...

1. Leftist white know, deep down in their heart, that the colored folks is lesser.
2. Leftist white know, deep down in their heart, that leftist policy is each race getting what it can from the others and they don't want to "pay their fair share".

That’s exactly what just happened in the primary race between Talerico and Jasmine Crockett. Over 90% of the black voters in that race voted for her, but white liberals voted against and got a narrow majority.

But she’ll get the last bitter laugh, because none of her voters will show up and vote for Talerico in the fall. They won’t vote for Paxton either, they’ll just drop out and stay home.

Well, not none. But there will be a dropoff in black turnout in the Texas senate race.

It's the pattern we can see when the black voting block has a particular candidate they rally behind in a primary and then that candidate loses the primary. The black electorate just...loses between 5-10% of turnout.

Can you imagine how the 2028 Democrat primary is going to shape up with Talarico having lost to Paxton while the black caucus gets to hype the hypothetical that Crockett totally would have won? And they can point to the depressed black turnout as a reason?

New - the Trump administration says the U.S.-Iran ceasefire that began April 7 has effectively “terminated” military action for War Powers Resolution purposes, per senior admin official.

That means in their view, 60-day clock for Congress to weigh in does not apply:

-------

I just have to bring this up because it's what I said would happen. People worried that Trump would have to go and ask for permission to strike Iran again from Congress were wrong.

Hell, Obama's Libya campaign, which he never got permission from Congress for and lasted well more than 60 days (about nine months), never even had a reset. There was a lawsuit from Congress, though. It got tossed. Why? Well, Congress has power of the purse.

Do we though? The DNC has shown in the past that they will hand pick their candidates. And before I get flack from anyone, I'm as liberal as liberals can be.

French: m'aidez, or "Help me!" The French is pronounced "may-day."

Never having studied French, as a teen I was puzzled when a character in a story, speaking French, would call "Entrez!" in response to a knock on the door. It just means "Come in!" The "-ez" I think is the imperative form, and is pronounced "ay."

That's part of the problem, but the bigger problem is sample size and randomness.

It's expensive. You have to contact thousands of people to get hundreds of responses, and once you're in the hundreds, well, weighting tends to come in.

A truly random sample gathered from a few hundred people is hard, especially if there are behavioral differences regarding polling across different partisan demos (which there are). So...they weight the data and then run the stats. If the weighting is correct, well, then you can get a decent result. But then...you might as well just throw up PVI and choose a couple of random numbers within 3 of each major point.

Posted by: TheJamesMadison, discovering British horror with Hammer Films at May 01, 2026 08:27 AM (Y2NSe

That race is a fascinating demonstration as to how, not just in Texas but across the country, the ultra radical online left is taking over the Dem Party. The Daily Kos/DU/Reddit posters used to be the fringe (let’s say before 2020) now they’re mainstream Democrat thought.

Back in those old days, every Dem politician knew that their only chance in a tight election was heavy black voter turnout, and black community leaders responded by working hard to get their people to vote. And now the radical left is so cocksure of themselves that they don’t think they need that kind of engagement anymore.

But they don’t really care about winning, all they care about now is looking tough online. A lot of them will be happier losing, because then they’ll have some perceived grievance to whine about online for years to come.

159 Moulton represents the core Democrat party thinking, and if you don’t realize that you need to pay attention.

It’s pretty obvious what Democrats want to do to the opposition, and they will brook no process, law, rule, principle, election or norm to get there.

They don’t want to govern, they want to rule. They’ve shown you during COVID how they will weaponize the government to steal your rights. They used the Russian Hoax and all auspices of the government to attempt a soft coup. They undermined the election system (and still are) to trying and subvert the people’s will.

This isn’t hyperbole. It’s demonstrably true in every instance. Their own words betray them.

At this point you are either part of the subversion or an idiot to elect any of these people.

Today, CMS notified Governor Walz and the state of Minnesota that we are deferring an additional $91 million in federal Medicaid funding.

This follows a pattern we can’t ignore. From the “Learing Center” scandal to the recent DOJ action involving childcare centers, Minnesota’s Medicaid program has shown serious vulnerabilities to fraud. These are not isolated breakdowns—they point to systemic issues that must be addressed.

Here’s the reality: the federal government funds roughly half of Medicaid. That gives CMS both the authority and the responsibility to ensure those dollars are spent legally and appropriately. When they’re not, we act. . . .

Posted by: dantesed at May 01, 2026

Mayday originated in 1923 when Frederick Stanley Mockford, a senior radio officer at Croydon Airport in London, was tasked with creating a distress signal easily understood by international air traffic. Because most flights at the time connected London with Paris, Mockford derived the term from the French phrase "m’aider" (help me), a shortened form of "venez m’aider" (come help me), chosen for its phonetic clarity over radio static.

From the ground level view in Texas, it looks like Cornyn has already given up. Runoff is getting close, and Cornyn is running no campaign, and making no appearances anyone knows about. Maybe he thinks he can do it all in the last week, but talk about too little too late.

And those reading out of state probably don’t know that the most cutting criticism of him from inside Texas wasn’t that he was just an old school RINO (although that’s true); it’s that he long ago forgot about the State and its voters, and instead acted like he was a full time permanent resident of DC only. You don’t fix that by refusing to even show up in what is supposedly his home state.

221 First Lady got another 3AM phone call last night. She walked out of the bedroom and didn't come back till after 4. She didn't say anything, so there wasn't any emergency, but I don't know who or what it was about.

Maybe it was from the guy from State Farm. The original guy before he got replaced.
