Judicial Watch Lawsuit Compels Oregon, Against Its Will, to Remove 800,000 Ineligible Voters from Its Voter Rolls -- Nearly One Quarter of All Eligible Voters In the State

Don't look now, but that thing that never happens is happening again.

Paul Sperry
@paulsperry_

BREAKING: Settlement of a Judicial Watch lawsuit has forced the review and removal of some 800,000 ineligible voters from Oregon voter rolls

Judicial Watch is deservedly crowing:

Judicial Watch announced a settlement in its federal lawsuit against Oregon election officials, which confirms 800,000 ineligible voter names are slated for review and removal from voter registration lists. The settlement requires state officials to produce detailed data and enforce federal voter roll clean-up procedures under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA).

I should say that of the 800,000 ineligible names, only 160,000 are being scrubbed now; the other 640,000 will be reviewed and scrubbed from the lists later.

Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit in October 2024, alleging Oregon failed to remove ineligible voters and seeking to enforce Section 8 of the NVRA after identifying widespread voter roll maintenance failures across dozens of counties (Judicial Watch, et al. v. The State of Oregon et al. (No. 6:24-cv-01783)).

In its complaint, Judicial Watch argued that Oregon's voter rolls contain large numbers of old, inactive registrations; and that 29 of Oregon's 36 counties removed few or no registrations as required by federal election law. Judicial Watch asserted that Oregon and 35 of its counties had overall registration rates exceeding 100%; and that Oregon had the highest known inactive registration rate of any state in the nation. In combination, all of these facts showed that Oregon was failing to remove inactive registrations as required by federal law.

In August 2025, a federal court in Oregon denied a motion to dismiss by Oregon and ruled the lawsuit could proceed.

In response to the lawsuit, Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read announced earlier this year that Oregon has about 800,000 inactive registrations, which are kept separately from the active voter rolls and do not receive ballots. Of those, roughly 160,000 already meet federal and state criteria for removal--having received confirmation notices, failed to respond, and not voted in two federal elections--and are slated for cancellation. The remaining approximately 640,000 inactive records do not yet qualify for removal and will be processed through future list maintenance efforts.

In its press release, Oregon acknowledged that routine removal of outdated records effectively stalled in 2017, leaving a large pool of long-dormant registrations on the rolls without being fully processed for removal. The scale of the backlog underscores a gap in routine list maintenance that is only now being addressed. "These directives are about cleaning up old data that's no longer in use so Oregonians can be confident that our voter records are up to date," said Read.

...

The settlement with Oregon remains in effect for more than five years, with a federal court retaining jurisdiction to enforce its terms. While the settlement resolves the litigation, it explicitly allows future legal action if Oregon fails to comply with voter list clean-up requirements going forward.

The settlement requires Oregon to open its voter roll maintenance processes to unprecedented scrutiny. ...

...

Colorado recently removed 372,000 ineligible voter names thanks to a Judicial Watch lawsuit and settlement addressing the state's compliance with federal voter list maintenance requirements.

In Kentucky, state election board officials reported that "roughly 735,000 ineligible voter registrations" have been removed from voter rolls, as part of a 2018 consent decree settling a Judicial Watch lawsuit.

As part of its 2022 settlement, New York City alone has removed 918,139 ineligible names from its rolls: data show 477,056 removals between March 2023 and February 2025, which is in addition to the 441,083 previously reported removals.

In Los Angeles, county officials confirmed the removal of more than 1.2 million names from voter rolls as part of a settlement. Judicial Watch legal pressure also resulted in election roll clean-ups in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Ohio.

20 Motor voter is another great example of why conservatives can never compromise with the left.

Motor voter was supposed to be that compromise: the left gets easy voter registrations for their constituencies that don't really care enough to register while the right gets mandated clean-up of the voter rolls to stop the left from using dead and out of state people to steal elections.

RESULT? The left registers a bunch of illegals through the motor voter and refuses to ever clean-up their voter rolls.

Great job, GOPe. Another huge win!

21 Information on the VA redistricting referendum vote:

Analysis shows that Fairfax County did three large vote dumps during the count, fairly late into the night. The last dump had over 30,000 votes, all "yes."

AFPI is pushing for information on this as well as the other Northern Virginia counties.

Talk around the water cooler is that the VA Democrats are gaming this out. One theory is that they wanted this entire effort to be so egregious that it would be voided by SCOVA. This would then feed a narrative of people being denied their votes by a tyrant king as a way of motivating their base.

Spanberger is not a stranger to gamesmanship, as shown by her actions on a firearms ban earlier this month.

I doubt seriously they will comply with this ruling but it brings up a very good point as far as blue states go.

If your voter rolls contains 25% ineligible voters and you are fighting to keep those voters on the list, you can't have a clean election and they are OK with that.

Soooo, I guess we can safely assume that all Oregon elections for the last 12 years or so have been complete frauds, and that-

none of Oregon's elected officials are legitimate and are possibly guilty of criminal voter fraud.

Is that about right?

Posted by: naturalfake at April 30, 2026 03:35 PM (iJfKG)

28 Part of Motor Voter-- the compromise part to get Republicans to sign on-- was a periodic review/removal of ineligible registrations-- not necessarily even fraudulent ones, but people move, people die, etc.

There are federal laws about making good faith efforts to keep voter rolls clean.

HAVA is the big one.

This is why these blue states all eventually fold in these lawsuits. The problem is that they literally just go back and add the ineligible back after the lawsuit's required actions have been taken.

It's been shown to happen in Michigan.

There's a reason (well, a few reasons) why Manhattan progressives are desperate for a not-Kamala for 2028 and one of those is that Kamala lost 6 million votes that Biden got.

If they think 2020 was legit and 2024 was won by Trump through chicanery in the swing states (how? don't ask), that leaves the simple fact that Kamala still lost 6 million voters.

89 None of those ineligible voters actually voted.

And even if they did vote, it didn't affect the outcome.

And even if it did affect the outcome, it's too late because the elections are over.

PS:
100% of the vote in Oregon is via mail-in ballot.
There is no verification that the ballot returned was sent by an eligible voter.
It's literally an honor system.
Which the left is desperate to roll out nationwide.
No Republican has won statewide office since Oregon has gone to the honor system of voting by mail.

I'll go as far as to say not a single Dem has won a legitimate election in decades. Maybe not ever in any of our lifetimes. Not saying there would be Republican mayors all over the place - but the Dems who did win most certainly had fraudulent help along the way. Could have been in primary elections and/or general elections. But I'm going with completely fraudulent unless proven otherwise.

186 I don't think people understand how bad the very idea of motor voter is.

Vote rolls must only contain *motivated* voters who intend and are likely to vote each cycle.

The traditional, and only reliable, check of fraud is to have canvasing where (a) each person on the rolls is confirmed as a real person, and (b) each person who is recorded as having voted is confirmed as really voting.

This includes the check on making sure that no one is voting in proxy for other people. For real voters, that happens when they go to the polls and are checked against the book -- if they are told "you already voted" they make a stink.

All this is to prevent the fraud of people manufacturing fake voters and having people vote for them. This is very very common in inner cities. You reduce it by not giving them any stagnant names to use.

Bad names on the rolls means they have a pool of voter names fraudsters can use to inject votes. This is very very bad and an inversion of the security.

- another is same day registration, as well as registration without verifying identity, citizenship etc. The rolls are a public document that should be verified by canvasing to make sure there is no fraud. A lot of the oil that the west coast refines is coming from Asia, but ultimately from the Gulf. Aaaand there is limited refining capacity in CA and only the one refinery in WA, and . . . California is importing refined gasoline which also gets into the system here.
As long as the Jones act waiver stays in place we can get fuel from the Gulf of America, but should that lapse then it is Kitty bar the door on prices

Also there is a BP labor issue going on in Indiana that seems to be locking out refining.

Oh and taxes and boutique blends for summer.

234 I have said many times here that I have seen church buses driving around East Coast city poll station to poll station, and at each one they get out, are told what name to use, and they all vote.

That is the Democratic machine. They can do that because the rolls are full of names that are not real voters. This is what they are trying to protect (although, with mail-in, it is much easier for them.)

(also, it is thought that this is how the HQ favorite author E. A. Poe died - he was murdered when forced to vote in other names...)

Once that is completed iran can have as many temper tantrums as they want to and close the straits to shipping and it will only have a minimal effect on oil prices. It is way past time to remove their only power over the rest of the world.

Yes, gas stations are probably price gouging. That's probably part of it.

It's the pattern. gas prices rise quickly and fall slowly.

The stations make almost nothing on the gas itself, so getting an extra few dollars per tank is something they're going to run towards.

What the dems have done is take this fraud and spread it.

Centralized counting gives those very inner city fraud machines control. The electronic crap eliminates the oversight as it is all now centralized and in state government hands. The electronic vote books make it easier to add names and have them vote as needed to win.

Now they want to eliminate the EC, so that massive fraud in states they control will swamp out the other states, just as massive fraud in the cities already swamp out rural votes.

Probably related is that republicans were successful in eliminating a huge number of ineligible voters off the Georgia roll in 2023, but It was shown that these removed voters showed back up on the voter rolls in a period of months. It was concluded that the DMV (and various other government registration services participating) were just adding them back onto the list. So, the Replican legislature produced a bill to stop Motor Voter. I hadn't heard the result of that. Maybe someone here knows.

Posted by: The Crow at April 30, 2026 04:29 PM (2qkZ/)

======

The Judicial Watch lawsuits have been working for literally years. DOJ started their own batch about a year ago after Harmeet Dhillon took office.

Plus, you know, district judges are stupid and partisan. DOJ keeps winning on appeal.

And, much more differently from previous cycles...the DOJ started more than a year before the next election. Usually the DOJ does almost nothing and the RNC is filing lawsuits about 4 weeks before an election.

Yes we do. Even with the confiscatory taxes most states charge.

Our capacity to pump oil and reserves protects us from most of the market fluctuations. Even with respect to GDP, the current price drag for us will probably be between .03 - 05 in Q3. For other nations it will be greater.

"It is despicable and unacceptable, and the people in Congress, the Republicans in Congress and White House who made this happen, will get to report back to their billionaire CEO donors that they did the job, while Minnesotans get sicker and go hungry and potentially die. Posted by: TheJamesMadison, discovering British horror with Hammer Films at April 30, 2026 04:23 PM (Y2NSe)

Russian, Venezuelan and Iranian oil was under restriction, unable to be sold in the marketplace. This was enforced by the USN. So it was sold illegally, at the discount rate that embargoed oil can get, mostly by China.

The US Navy was enforcing a situation where China was getting extra cheap oil, who then used it for their own industries and sold the excess AT MARKET PRICES to places like California.

This is what is pissing me off this month.

316 >>Look man I'm on team MOAR for sure but you're picking at nits right now.

No, I'm absolutely not. I'm pointing the problem that is causing our current prices to be higher than they could be despite the war in Iran.

We can't refine a lot of the oil we currently pump because we haven't been build refineries at the same pace we have been discovering and pumping new oil including shale oil.

This has been a long known problem in the oil and gas industry not something that just happened. We have a surplus of oil, we are a net exporter, but lack of refinery capacity has been a long identified and fought over problem. 50 fucking years is a long time to go without a new refinery when the population of the US has grown significantly in the same amount of time.

I've never been able to figure out why an Oil company, that has its own wells, owns a refinery, and sells at its own stations... has prices even affected by the futures market, or what is happening overseas.

It seems like if own the whole supply chain... folks from OPEC could pound sand...

I'm not saying don't make a profit... but we're allowing other folks to cause instability in our system.

Russian citizens probably LOVE the embargo.

They have oil. They have refineries. And the US Navy is shielding the citizen from the Oligarch selling Russian Gas to other countries to maximize profits.

Thus, lower gas prices in Russia.

Shit! Can we get someone to enforce an embargo on US????
