It's not just violence. In Delacroix's painting, the lady is bare-breasted. I'm kind of sure that's how dogs normally go about. Posted by: Archimedes at May 01, 2026 09:31 AM (Riz8t) 9

It's interesting to see people, mostly on the Left, react so violently against AI in art and media. Videos have little labels indicating AI wasn't used, I've seen some YouTube channels now show the narrator onscreen recording his voice over as the main video plays, AI art is vehemently denigrated, etc.
I guess they have to, as many of them are "creatives" that make their livelihood with art, that machines are now able to increasingly replicate easily. It's like buggy-whip manufacturers fighting the automobile, though, as it's a losing cause. Only the really excellent, unique artists will survive (and maybe live music), and others will evolve into experts at using AI as a new tool to create art. The most interesting part is, the Lefties aren't worried about the greatest risk- AI threatening human life. Just taking over their space, and possibly giving evil troglodyte conservatives access to effective, efficient media creation. They don't like losing their gatekeeper status. Rainout - if the Queen of Spades is dealt face-up, the round re-starts and the pot carries over. Split-pot games can be fun too. Low Chicago - lowest spade in the hole takes half the pot. Muldoon, did you give an update on your father-in-law's case on last Sunday's Book Thread?
Posted by: Bulg ********* Saturday coffee thread. Not much oof an update. The main bit was that the detectives now have credible information leading them to believe that the murderer did NOT go to TX to be near his mother, but instead remained in CO and was living 'rough' either in the back country or squatting in various remote vacant cabins or abandoned mine shafts or who-knows-where fr the last 17 years. If he is still alive, that is. He fancied himself a mountain man. It seems he alienated his mother by threatening to kill her and her husband and any cops who came looking for him. Oddly enough that sort f end would be a better prison sentence than the judicial system would have given. Posted by: muldoon at May 01, 2026 10:50 AM (I0N4X) 318
hmmm. Interesting from zerohedge. Yeah, I know...but..
War Powers: 60 Days There's common agreement that today: Friday, May 1st, constitutes the 60-day mark on Operation Epic Fury. But President Trump and his administration are trying to sidestep the 1973 law which requires a president to withdraw troops within 60 days of notifying Congress of their deployment unless lawmakers formally authorize the military action as a declaration of war. Of course, thus far there's been no Congressional authorization, amid some six failed attempts to push through War Powers resolutions. The administration is now arguing that the extended ceasefire itself, reached three weeks ago and then recently unilaterally extended by Trump, buys more time and allows the White House to avoid Congressional approval. Admin officials argue the absence in exchanges of fire between Iranian and US forces means the 60-day timeline doesn't apply. "For War Powers Resolution purposes, the hostilities that began on Saturday, February 28, have terminated," a Trump official has been cited broadly in US media as saying. The same perspective had first been put forward by Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth Posted by: Stateless at May 01, 2026 10:50 AM (Sco7b) 319
The Democrats in Congress questioning Hegseth about the conflict with Iran just sound like a bunch of idiots. Fake partial Indian Warren asks about whether Hegseth traded stock options before the conflict. Some other dope was asking if Hegseth is a Christian Nationalist and hates other religions? They can't even stay on topic.

Not according to the same leftists who don't like to talk about land they claim was stolen from the indians. According to them the land was acquired by large scale massacres of simple folk who just like to commune with nature and smoke peace pipes.
