Justice Dept. Targets Hundreds of Citizens in New Push for DenaturalizationIs it really not clear? I notice this is a favorite tactic of the communist propaganda media, claiming they don't know what would possibly cause people to suspect Jihadi Mohammad might not be a great American citizen. By the way, saying it's "not clear" is a very deceptive weasley construction. They know why these people are being targeted for naturalization, but say it's "not clear," which means that if it's proved later they knew the reasons, they can just say "well we didn't know all the details, which meets the requirements to say it's 'not clear.'"
The Trump administration is assigning denaturalization cases to regular prosecutors, which could lead to a surge of people stripped of U.S. citizenship. The Justice Department has identified 384 foreign-born Americans whose citizenship it wants to revoke, part of a push to increase the pace of denaturalizations by assigning the cases to prosecutors in dozens of U.S. attorney's offices across the country. Senior Justice Department officials in Washington told colleagues during a meeting last week that civil litigators in 39 regional offices would soon be assigned to file denaturalization cases against the individuals, according to an official familiar with the announcement who was not authorized to describe it on the record. Two people familiar with the plans confirmed the broader effort to ramp up denaturalizations. It was not clear what led the department to target the 384 individuals.
Well that seems pretty clear doesn't it?
Under federal law, the government may ask a court to strip the citizenship of people who obtained it fraudulently -- for instance, by entering into a sham marriage or by withholding information about their past that would have made them ineligible. Some who commit crimes may also be denaturalized. The government must present evidence to a federal judge through a civil or criminal proceeding, making the process challenging and time-consuming.
Traditionally, experts in the department's office of immigration litigation have handled denaturalization cases. But the effort to enlist regular prosecutors to pursue these cases could lead to a surge in denaturalizations, which have been rare in recent decades. It also comes just months after Trump administration officials ordered Department of Homeland Security staffers to refer upward of 200 denaturalization cases a month to the DOJ. Matthew Tragesser, a Justice Department spokesman, said that officials were "pursuing the highest volume of denaturalization referrals in history" from the Department of Homeland Security. "The Department of Justice is laser focused on rooting out criminal aliens defrauding the naturalization process," he added.
Again, this all seems pretty clear to me. So what the NYT is saying is that they don't know the exact charges for all 384 of the people being denaturalized. Hence, it's "not clear."
They don't, because foreigners granted citizenship through naturalization can be denaturalized if they have been found to lie in their paperwork. Natural born American citizens cannot be so denaturalized (though if they could be, I've got a little list). Hence they do not have the "same rights and stability." And these are not "political opponents," these are fraudsters, pirates, plunderers, and terrorists. They are enemies of the vast majority of Americans -- which makes them, naturally, key allies of the communist, civilization-razing left.
"Citizenship fraud is a serious crime; anyone who has broken the law and obtained citizenship through fraud and deceit will be held accountable," said Abigail Jackson, a White House spokeswoman. The push indicates that the Trump administration aims to make good on its plan to increase the pace of denaturalizations as part of its crackdown on immigration. The move will likely scare many naturalized immigrants as the Trump administration has sought to curtail immigration across the board and spoken disdainfully about migrants from certain countries. "The message it sends is that naturalized citizens don't have the same rights and stability as native-born citizens," said Amanda Frost, a law professor at the University of Virginia. "The government has used this power in the past to target people it views as political opponents."

What really pisses me off about this is that these dipsh*t terrorist criminal scum can get their citizenship, but my buddy from Sweden, who is an amazing guy, loves America, is married to an amazing American woman and is a phenomenal professional hockey player has to go through a f*cking rope-a-dope to get his green card and start the naturalization process.
The amount of outright BS that goes on with that whole process is staggering... I thought all of those seemingly needless bureaucratic steps were there to keep assh*ts from getting naturalized in the first place.

I know at least two married couples who are going through the immigration process now for the foreign spouse. The feds are crawling up their asses with investigations and interviews, and neither of these marriages has any indicia of fraud.
This is not a criticism: this is what the feds should be doing to try to weed out any sham marriages (like probably half the Muslims here).
But I can't help but think if these weren't white couples the feds would rubber-stamp it. At least they would have before Trump started paying attention to this.

I think the term for taking away the citizenship of a natural born citizen is revoking citizenship. People doing it voluntarily are renouncing their citizenship. I think. Example: US POWs who voluntarily (?) stayed behind in North Korea had their citizenship taken away one way or another.

Not a fight, but I could enthrall you with a discussion of if I have a spider bite on one of my toes. It nearly drove me insane two nights ago, waking me from sleep. Then not finding Benadryl, forcing me to wake my husband. Wondering, "Is this athlete's feet? Do I use a steroid cream?" Nurse brain activated at 0300. Watched video on laptop til this passed then slept til 10am (yesterday).
I have no idea what bit me but it is not serious, only annoying.
This is how I spend 1% of my life, wondering, what on earth? What now? Why can't I go one week without something weird?
There! A sum of my trial and tribulation of today. Shoes? No shoes? Bra? (ok, this does not involve the toe, but a consideration if not wearing shoes).

Amazon will send out a "recovery" verification code if you tell them you have forgotten your password. Either someone is in your account trying to phish it, or someone gave the wrong cell number.
Either way, delete the code, and maybe check your Amazon account for any new activity you are not aware of

I've said it before, but the Trump 2.0 administration is the most anti-immigrant administration since before Kennedy's immigration bill in the 60s.
Green card issuance is down 50%. New H1-Bs are down about 90%. Asylums are down literally 99%. Every visa class is down double digits.
And then, interior deportations are up in every state, including states that have never had interior deportation operations as a focus (think the entire Midwest), the border is closed, and a combination of regulations and stuff from the OBBB is making it harder for legal and illegal immigrants to get benefits.
70-80% of those picked up by every government agency for immigration sign waivers to leave, so they count as voluntary departures instead of deportations. And yeah, it's not just ICE. It's the entire DHS. It's actually every agency that interacts with the public because Trump deputized the entire federal government to enforce immigration law.
Agreements with local and state police have exploded from about 150 to more than 1700, meaning that when a cop runs a license and sees that the person isn't legal no matter the reason they interact with the police, there are 1700 jurisdictions that just contact ICE and get the illegals picked up for deportation.

The only time you should get that is if you initiate the process by requesting the recovery of a lost password online. Then the website will advise you to check your email or text messages for the one-time code, which then copy and paste into the password recovery window.

Secondly, there was a partial pull out of extra DHS resources from MN because those extra resources were doing logistics work around ICE, the kind of basic work that local police usually do when a federal agent calls them and asks for some support. MN ended all of its sanctuary policies. It was in the news. That's why DHS decreased its presence there.
MN started interacting with DHS like Texas does.

I think the administration looks at that as "anti-business." They don't seem inclined to penalize the employers of illegals. Instead, they appear satisfied with processing and deporting the illegals in (the hope?) that the employer will hire Americans to replace them.
It's debatable if that is working or even how the administration looks at the employer - illegal relationship. But it seems likely.

Nah TJM, there's been no big or serious systematic approach to known sectors using large numbers of illegals. And by serious I mean making it clear that 8USC 1324 prosecutions (process would definitely be the punishment here, esp. for publicly held companies) would be happening unless there was cooperation in eliminating illegal labor. Just starting this ball rolling would work pretty quickly in certain infamous industries (such as meatpacking, where over many years now just one raid resulted in things getting cleaned up).
There are actions here and there, but they're very labor-intensive, even hazardous, and usually lack much leverage compared to approaching the executive suite directly.
And where oh where is the follow-up on the letter DOJ sent to over 400 "sanctuary" jurisdictions last year specifically threatening action under 8USC1324? Maybe it's being prepped, who knows.

You have to use the indirect estimation method for a lot of it. And deep blue states like California where your tax bucks are going to keep them here is not where it works best. I have been tracking my local state and the indirect measures are declining school attendance (indicates drop in illegals), declining jail populations ( a lot of illegals commit drug, traffic, and alcohol offenses that are not felonies), wage rates (use REIS for this) and job ads, traffic levels, repossession of vehicles, rental rates, etc.
All indicate a declining illegal presence, primarily in red states but also happening in purple states. The deep blue states are getting a lot of internal illegal migration in which muddies the picture.
And the aggregate drop in US population estimates indicate that the decrease is real and accelerating (as do the official figures from deportations and the border sealed).
The West Coast plus NY blue wall on immigration will end when the state money runs out. Which is happening quickly now the fed taps are turned off.
Trump is trying to basically pull off keeping the economy going among other projects which means cost-benefit analysis is driving policy.

If the Labor Party ousts him as leader, it's not a non-confidence vote. Starmer gets fired, but still holds his Commons seat, and another Laborite becomes PM. If they pick a new leader who does not have a Commons seat, then some Labor MP in a safe seat will resign, and the new Labor leader runs in a by-election. This is established precedent.

My guess is Current Population Survey (CPS) unless you somehow ended up on the farm census/USDA Ag statistics list (depends on acreage, prior land use, and whether you declare to the IRS that you are running a farm).
I just looked at CPS current questionnaires and they are mainly about labor, demographics, and I did not see any questions about firearm ownership. You can find them online with full text btw. If you ran a gun business, then you get related questions.
In voting years, they ask about voting and the methods by which you voted (not who you voted for).
And yes, by law, they can compel you to answer the Census every ten years (which is a constitutional power to the fedgov to carry it out) but the case is more murky for other surveys.
They don't do push charges because often they end up going to other fed and state agencies to get enough information to 'impute' and that includes outside surveillance of your house, farmland, etc.
