I don’t recall the deep time source of the reserves found in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc., but the huge reserves running from Texas up to Alberta define the rough countours of the ancient inland sea that covered much of what is now North America.

Question, though. Why doesn't it extend to Tamaulipas? Mexico's coast has tons of oil and, I believe, the inland has natural gas. Only reason the MX coast (or MX generally) isn't as wealthy as the American Gulf Coast is due to incompetence and corruption

Same for most of Ontario, Quebec, and northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Northeast corner of Alberta sits on the Shield, too.

Madrid station is talking with the James Webb telescope out at L2. Big difference there. It's making about 28 Mb/s on the Ka band. Also about 40 kb/s on the S band.

Calif has YUGE oil and gas reserves.... I spent $6.50 a gallon last week in Bakersfield...
