  • Scheduling service Cal.com has gone closed source in part due to AI security threats. (Cal.com)

Cal.diy will remain as an open-source self-hosted solution for individual users. It has most of the same features except for support for teams and enterprise authentication methods.

  • Here's why that won't work. (Twitter)

If your code is out there - even as a binary - AI tools can decompile it efficiently.

If your API is out there, AI tools can and will scan it.

It's an understandable move to avoid short-term risks, but the best approach is to use the same AI tools to scan for security issues yourself.

Depending upon who is writing the definition, a generation is either twenty-five tears or thirty years in length. It's the average time for a given cohort of folks to pop out the next generation of young'uns. I use thirty years.

In the ages well before now twenty-five years made more sense, or even twenty years.

Time to go stroll among my earlier times' kinfolk.

24 Come to think of it, "Convoy" is a darn good anthem for any road trip. As everybody here probably remembers, it was a big big hit in its day, 1975, and either kicked off the CB craze in passenger cars or picked up on it and accelerated it. Chip Fries, "C.W. McCall," was a very talented writer and producer with a solid voice, too.

“If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people.”

I didn't actually listen to it because it's too early for listening to ranting. There probably should be so mandatory retirement age for people in Congress. De Lauro is in her 80's. I compare her to our retired organist ( she did it as volunteer) who played the organ and worked as the church secretary and , did baked goods until her 90's for the church luncheons. I understand people want to be useful and productive, but I have no doubt lovable Jessie was more of an asset to humanity than the Congressional Rep from CT and Jessie had a wonderful, loving spirit.

102 @101{yesterday's tech thread}/NaCly Dog: "FWIW, in two years as a bus driver I was randomly selected for every urinalysis screening. Passed, of course. I asked who are you protecting, and was skipped after that."

That's brilliant. I'm using that if I end up in a similar situation, and I may well based on training we got at the beginning of the year. "Random drug tests" are coming, because the big multinational bus company that owns us says so. *sighs*

Oh, and they'll demand at some random point during the day, or even after your work day is done. Fail to comply immediately, and it's treated as a positive test result with all the ramifications that entails.

Anyway, thanks NaCly Dog.

103 {{{Ben Had}}}

It was very nice. I took her on one of my favorite trails, with views of Tuttle Creek Reservoir.

She is looking forward now. After her beloved husband died, she basically was incapacitated with grief for a year. I understand completely. She does know how lucky she was to have such a good, long, marriage.

We plan to walk once a week. Plan to take her to a nice hike to the confluence of the Big Blue River and the Kansas River, weather depending.

104 61 As Calvin Coolidge said on the 150th anniversary of the Declaration:

“If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people.”

Quoted by Justice Thomas on the 250th anniversary of thr Declaration of Independence.
