A Violent Madwoman Was Set Free After Setting Her Father on Fire -- And Now Stabs A Three-Year-Old Child During a Kidnapping

A court decided that she was too incompetent to stand trial.

But instead of locking her away in an asylum, he allowed her to "remain in her community" unless her mental health team recommended incarceration -- which they didn't.

And now, a three-year-old child has been stabbed.

Daniel Friedman
@DanFriedman81

Two years ago, Naomi Guzman doused her father in lighter fluid and tried to set him on fire, then broke into a church and threatened a priest with a knife. She was found incompetent to stand trial and released.

Today, she abducted a toddler and stabbed him before she was shot and killed by police.

There are very compelling photos of this madwoman on the verge of stabbing the child with a butcher's knife (which she also stole, of course). She did in fact stab the three-year-old, though he's expected to recover.

I was going to post the photo but I think it's probably too upsetting.

You can see it linked at Twitchy. The photo doesn't show the actual stabbing, just the moment before it.

Note that she has a long history of enriching our culture.

In 2024, Guzman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her father and attempted to start a fire inside his home, KETV reported.

Guzman reportedly doused her father in a flammable liquid and cut him with a knife before fleeing the home.

She then broke into nearby St. Frances Cabrini Church and began destroying items inside the rectory while armed with a knife, according to KETV.

A priest at the church reportedly called 911 and subsequently barricaded himself inside a room as Guzman continued her attack.

"Whatever room he was in, she busted through that room just as they were extracting [him] on that ladder truck," Lt. Jake Ritonya said at the time of the incident, KETV reported. "And then she was armed with a knife. So obviously it could have gone very bad."

Guzman then proceeded to barricade herself inside the building and allegedly sprayed bear spray at authorities as they attempted to make contact, the outlet reported.

"There was bear spray in the rectory that she sprayed at my officers when we tried to make contact," Ritonya said. "So we tried multiple avenues to contact her with drones and negotiators, and it just wasn't -- she was in a mental health crisis."

She was subsequently taken into custody as she attempted to jump out of a window, but later released on her own recognizance while facing four felony charges, according to WOWT.

No one is reporting that Noemi (proper spelling) Guzman is a US citizen or illegal alien, which, I think, is strong evidence that she's yet another Maryland Man.

Translated from Spanish

#UNUSUAL Nebraska police shot and killed Noemí Guzmán, a 31-year-old Latina, after she stole a kitchen knife and attacked a 3-year-old child. Guzmán took a knife from a store and approached the child, who was in a shopping cart with his caregiver. Under threat, she forced the woman to walk ahead of the cart while she pushed it toward the parking lot. Officers arrived at the scene and confronted her, and despite requests to drop the weapon, the suspect refused and began stabbing. Due to the imminent danger, they fired their weapons, wounding her, and she later died at the scene. The child suffered a cut on the face and a wound on the hand.

It's completely insane that being too crazy to stand trial results in a violent criminal's release rather than permanent protective custody without appeal

She retweeted a photo of a car bearing the slogans "Abolish ICE" and "No one is illegal on stolen land."

Below are Noemi Guzman and a killer tranny who murdered his stepdaughter. He was allowed out of prison 30 years early.

Like the trans-identified male, Jonathan Richardson, who was convicted of the brutal murder of his stepdaughter. He was released a full 30 years early. He now has the privilege to open an OnlyFans account under the name Autumn Cordellioné; I guess that's his reward for serving less than half of his 55-year sentence. The thing is, everyone was silent about his release in late December 2025.

20 > She was found incompetent to stand trial and released.

When I was a teenager, I remember a lot of people incredulously talking about the insanity defense. Then it became a common topic of conversation for others to push back and say something like, "No, you don't understand. First of all the insanity defense is very rare. Second, it's not like they just let you go if you're found incompetent to stand trial. They just put you in a mental facility instead of going to jail."

Yeah, about that. It seems like sometimes they really do just let dangerous, insane people wander about. They're not in jail. They're not in a mental facility. They're out there setting fire to people and stabbing kids.

23 In Alaska, "guilty but mentally ill" is a possible verdict.

You do time in the psych hospital first, then, assuming the doctors decide you're all better now, you go to regular Big Boy Jail for the rest of your sentence.

We've had this since the psych doctors cut Charles Meach loose after he was committed for murdering a retarded supermarket bagboy.

The docs decided that Charlie was all better now, and started giving him passes to go out in the community.

Then he murdered four teenagers who were camping in one of our parks... they surprised the shitstain while he was robbing their campsite.

Oops. Guess Charlie wasn't all better after all.

Meach is now inhabiting a somewhat ... warmer ... clime. Too late for those kids, but we do now have "guilty but mentally ill", which has been used in numerous high-profile cases.

Disappointed in the priest/pastor in her earlier incident. If you're going to go un-armed you had best have confidence in the Lord God Almighty that he will save your butt, because the only right answer was for him to stop her from damaging things in the sanctuary and try to save her soul. He ran and hid.

Of course, I also think there should have been a policeman guarding his six as he got onto the fire ladder, and they should have shot her as she entered with the knife. Immediate, decisive consequences are the only way to end this woman's reign of terror.

44 But wait, there's more -

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - First Alert 6 has learned that just hours before police shot and killed Noemi Guzman, she had been taken to a nearby hospital.

Early Monday morning, Omaha Police responded to a QuikTrip gas station in the area of 32nd and L streets for a domestic disturbance call.

Officers spoke with Noemi Guzman who claimed she had been assaulted and had some injuries on her arm. At the time, she declined to go to the hospital and officers documented the incident.

The following day, OPD and Guzman met again.

45 The data is pretty clear - around 1% of the population commit most of the violent crime.

If you deal with them whether it is commitment to an asylum, prison, or the death penalty, crime drops, and dramatically so.

If you get them out they will act out there is no serious way to incentivize them not to.

And you can see this pattern play out again, and again, and again where we have some sort of reform that let's them out and crime goes up, and another reform that puts them away and crime goes down

Violent crime has been steadily decreasing since the 90s. If that's the result of "being soft on crime", maybe we aren't soft enough.

Several years ago, the OWH did a series on the mental health facilities and options in Nebraska. The state pretty much failed in every metric. Not enough beds for those needing long term treatment. Insufficient facilities for short term in patient treatment. Shortage of caregivers if all kinds.

The problems the left doesn't want to talk about:

1) Healthcare bureaucracy costs have exploded because of increased government regulation. This took ALL of the savings of computerizing systems and way, way more

2) The US is providing free healthcare not only to its own poor, but millions of legal alien residents and tens of millions of illegal aliens

3) The kind of relatively low cost asylums we had back in the day would violate all sorts of modern healthcare mandates.

84 > Our society struggles to understand mental illness, unless you or a loved one personally experience it. In turn there's essentially zero financial support for any social and medical services for these people and it's sad.

There's plenty of financial support for social and medical services. The problem we have is the law makes it really REALLY hard to involuntarily commit someone. As it is now, you either have to commit a horrific crime, or you have to be just sane enough and humble enough to self-commit to a facility.

87 The psycho isn't the issue. There's always going to be a psycho. There's nothing special about the psycho. The issue is the system that has latched on to the inevitable psycho and pave their way to damage society and ruin lives as much as they possibly can.

The state that claims a monopoly on the use of force to protect society is actively seeking to harm society.

97 We as a society have brought this onto ourselves. We closed up almost all of the dedicated mental facilities that could have treated people like her. Granted there were abuses and horror stories about some of the facilities, but overall they served a legitimate purpose for society.

Now that they are gone there are zero alternatives. Most hospitals do not have dedicated psych wards and those that do only have a few beds available not nearly enough to treat the number of people who are referred to them.

At this point we are literally out of options for people who aren't mentally fit to stand trial unless the judge does the right thing and has them involuntarily committed, and that is a tough legal hurdle to jump.

The problem is in determining they did the crime. If they are crazy they can't participate in their defense. And the courts say "the right to confront your accuser" can't be adequately handled if they can't participate.

So, the natural extension of the right becomes a giant process hurdle to the truth and to justice.

Well, after she was done with the kid, she was coming for them so, you know, blam blam blam blam blam.

I suppose they could make the case that they didn't want to accidentally shoot the kid. That would be bad. And once she started to stab the kid they had to act.

It happens pretty fast and shooting someone down, for most people, comes with some degree of hesitation before they do it. Unless you habituated to it. You sort of want to avoid it if you can.

About 10 ft from the door a woman sprints out at him raising a knife above her head.

The cop yelled to drop the knife and started reaching for his gun shooting her as she was about a foot from him. The whole thing took less the 2s.

Hell of a decision to make in that time isn't it?

177 You can see clearly here why I did not like psych in nursing school. Altho the acute patients were nothing like this in our hospital psych unit.

The chronic patients in a nursing home place mostly held dolls and fought over cig butts. While wild I was never afraid for my life.

The really dangerous patients were in a state psych hospital that I did not have to go to, thank God.

I had one young man, a typical early 20's schizophrenic (I have seen three) sent to my 5th floor wing when I was a charge RN. He was rigid but quiet and pacing his room. At the time none of the windows locked and there was a ledge to step onto in the case of fire. I called admitting and asked wth he was doing on my floor. Then called his doctor and said he should not be here. The MD shrink told me to give him IM Haldol, which I did through his jeans while he was standing and cooperative (I told him). He did not seem to mind and was later transferred. I'm simply glad he did not jump out of the window.

My cousin did similar and rode on top of a freight train.

Another patient, in another hospital, did not recognize his own parents. Drug and alcohol screens negative, he was having a psychotic break.

The defendants Dentsu US, Inc., GroupM Worldwide LLC (doing business as WPP Media), and Publicis, Inc. will no longer enter into deals that require them to restrict working with certain clients, according to the settlement.

“A coordinated group of woke, powerful individuals attempted to suppress that Constitutional right by manipulating ad agencies into sabotaging the reach, revenue, and credibility of conservative voices,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement released on April 15.

The plaintiffs - including Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia - alleged that censorship deals between ad agencies and companies had been happening in the background during the past decade, which limited rising voices in the alternative and online media space.

That is not how rights work. If its a right, I have the right even if I don't know what the hell is going on. I have the right to life even if I am asleep. I do not have to comprehend my rights in order to have them and for the state to have to protect them.

If someone is actually guilty of an act they are guilty whether they understand what they are doing or not. Being insane does not eliminate culpability. Being unable to understand the things going on in court does not negate their guilt.

Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at April 16, 2026 03:44 PM (uEYKS)

Because the lawyer has to be able to establish timelines, alibis, whether eyewitness testimony is accurate, etc. He can't (supposedly) do that without the cooperation of the subject.

Part of the problem is that we all see the obvious stuff. But there's LOTS* of crime where the accused is not obviously guilty or the evidence is suspect. We've commented on those cases in the past. So, we need the evidence to be confronted and the accused's story heard, so the jury can decide. (It's a prime reason we don't allow hearsay - the accuser is not the person relaying the evidence, and therefore can't be confronted.)

(* It might not be as many as some would like to believe, but it's still a lot more than others would like.)

Posted by: GWB at April 16, 2026 04:01 PM (IxSmD)

199 Being unable to understand the things going on in court does not negate their guilt.

This is actually an interesting point.

Because there is a strong legal standard that whether or not you understand the law you have to follow it and it isn't uncommon to see people fined or even jailed because they were normal people that didn't understand some overly complex law

BUT the same legal system will excuse you for murder if you aren't mentally competent...

In reality, if the DA got her wish and the ICE agents were arrested by local cops, this is what would happen:

The DOJ would move to have the case heard in federal court because it's about federal agents in the execution of their duties. The state/local court would have no choice but to allow the movement.

The DOJ would take over as prosecution, and then they'd move to dismiss, and the federal court would have to accept it.

225 I remember the cop protecting that black girl by shooting the other black girl attacking her with a knife -

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James faced intense backlash Wednesday over a now-deleted tweet targeting a Columbus, Ohio, police officer involved in the shooting death of 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant.
Bodycam footage released late Tuesday showed Bryant being shot as she was attacking another Black teen with a knife.
James suggested that the police shooting was unjustified coming on the heels of the conviction of former Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin on murder and manslaughter charges in the death of George Floyd.

"YOU’RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY," the NBA icon wrote with an hourglass emoji over an image of one of the officers at the scene of Bryant's shooting.

Not invoking it got MN to interact with DHS like Texas does. Meaning, local police call DHS when they interact with an illegal alien, they hold illegal aliens in honoring ICE retainers in jail, and they hand over illegals whenever DHS asks.

A city DA is not going to alter that state of affairs.

By the way, did you know that there were only about 100 agreements between local and state police and DHS at the start of Trump's second term to hand over illegals? It's now over 1600.

Every interaction in those 1600 jurisdictions where a police meets an illegal and even assumes lack of legal authority to be in the country gets a call to ICE to come and pick them up.

287 So in that event, you'll see a flood of these warrants from every sanctuary city, just to get ICE off their streets and curtail enforcement.

Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at April 16, 2026 04:19 PM

Apparently that is the plan. I doubt it will work but it is what the liberals have come up with to try and thwart ice enforcement in their cities.

If one ice agent gets arrested by a local cop/sheriff that could set off a massive federal response and finally push Trump into declaring that jurisdiction has met the requirements to invoke the insurrection act.

We do not want that to happen but I am fairly certain the liberals want that exact thing to happen.

I don't. So hopefully "bravely run away" isn't the tactic he embraces, because it will only embolden these people and make the problem worse. Stand firm, and send some Minneapolis cops to prison or the grave, if they don't relish being arrested and federally charged.

That will fix this.

295 Judges continually doing this are going to eventually end up subject to vigilante justice. Society gives government the solitary right to violence, with the expectation they will maintain order and take care of the bad guys.

When a judge refuses to maintain the state's part of the bargain, citizens will decide to revoke their agreement to forego violence. Which in their minds means the criminals as well as their enablers would be fair game. We need to not go there.

That's the point of participating in their defense.

OK let me repeat myself because apparently people have reading comprehension issues here.

MY ENTIRE ARGUMENT IS THAT THEY SHOULD GET A TRIAL SO WE CAN FIND OUT THEIR GUILT

Is that clear enough? Is this making sense to you yet?

Nobody has to participate in their defense to find out if they are guilty or not. Defendants are sometimes totally uncooperative. Somehow, shockingly, investigators are able to determine their guilt or innocence despite not having help from the defendant.

It's not like there's any real downside. The media can bleat about dictator Trump, but they can't do it without mentioning the interference with law enforcement that justifies anything he might do.

True, it's not everywhere. The entire west coast state governments have forbidden local interaction with DHS.

But the largest population of illegals is in Texas, and Texas is heavily complying. And, remember, the danger was that Biden was sending illegals into red states to change the demographics, and those states are working with DHS.

Actually, it was when they started removing the bounty for actually dealing with them. You aren't allowed to actually do anything about them if you're not a LEO or bounty hunter.

Same judge refused to accept her guilty plea and officially ruled that finial judgment was being withheld based on her successfully completing probation.

They put her on probation for a couple of years with instructions to not contact me but I got regular phone calls when she was intoxicated where she threatened to finish what she started or had someone she was fucking take me out.

No one in the system would acknowledge this even when I presented them with recordings. They threatened me for making the recordings because it's illegal.
