I can't help but think of the general step *after* that.

The idea that freedom was possible, much less virtuous, was only possible because America at it's founding was filled with Christians. I would argue it's due to Christianity specifically, but it's at least due to having a broad agreement on moral standards.

We cannot go on having so much evil on display, going unpunished if not overtly celebrated. People may want freedom (for some value of the word), but we need order and some sense of security. And if these savages that, one way or another, support the left continue to be part of this society, we're going to need firmer rules and more forceful enforcement of them to keep them contained.

Yes, I'm aware that this is a bad idea. But we are what we are, and they are what they are.

I'm using multifocal contact lenses. At distance they are normal. Close up they project multiple images onto your retina, one set blurry out of focus, and another set, or a series of sets at various levels of in focus. Then your amazing nervous system makes sense of it all.

Not mine though. My nervous system is not amazing. I get multiple crappy images. But I've gotten use to it. My distance vision is great.
