Amidst all of our sorrow, the sweetest little girl melted all of our hearts and gave us a lasting gift.
Rachel’s friend, Claudia, told us the following story:
Yesterday evening when I left to go be with Rachel, I explained to my daughter, Logan, that Mommy would be away for a few days…her friend Rachel and her family needed her to come be a friend, because they were going through something very sad. She said that she wanted to come with me and help, and I told her that I had to go by myself. She was deep in thought, and disappeared for a while. When she came back to me, I was standing in my kitchen, and she dropped two coins – a nickel and a penny – into my pocket, and informed me that they were for Rachel and her family, to make them feel better. I regained my composure, hugged her, and said thank you. They stayed in my pocket until I got to the hotel room, and I handed them to Rachel, relaying my little girl’s message.
Rachel was very touched by the gesture, and when she got to the hospital, she shared the story with everyone in the waiting room, and showed everyone the coins.

Big fan so far. Started using them in the fall at the recommendation of my buddy who typically hits in the mid-high 70s. Gave me a long lesson on using soft balls especially in cold weather, then imploring me to pick a model and stay with it.
Now I just need to stop 3-putting!!

There's a YT site that runs AI generated videos of the wisdom and advice of St. Padre Pio, a Franciscan monk who was a stigmatist.
The titles are straight-up click bait: "The fifteen sins you MUST confess if you're over 60! Number 7 will astound you!" (Okay, I added that last sentence, but you know the drill.)
If you click through, they do have a disclaimer about their uses of AI and their methods of putting together the videos.

Fun fact: it may have an effect in soothing the digestive system. Much of the mud in Mississippi is high in a type of clay named Kaolin, which happens to be the active ingredient in kaopectate.

Probably the biggest problem I have with this is that by refusing to treat victims and victimizers differently, they are literally refusing to provide sanctuary. Even most women’s shelters, however left-leaning, have balked at allowing rapists pretending to be women in with scared women, but Catholic charities seem to have no problem forcing the trafficked to “share” space with traffickers.

Every day, write down 5 things that you were grateful for that day. They cannot be the same as the day before (although you can add those to each day's list). They have to be GOOD things; things that made you happy/grateful that day. Write them down every day.
Some days you really have to work to find 5 things, but that is the point - no matter how bad a day may be, you can ALWAYS find something to be grateful for, even if it's just noticing how pretty the color of the sky is.
Trust me when I tell you that this will change your outlook on life.

Exercise has been the biggest help. Being outdoors. Take a walk. Or stay in. Lift some weights. It gives me a sense of efficacy. And control. At the end of the day, what I choose to do is the only thing I control.

Aetius451AD was onto something with exercise and work.
I'd add that you might look into have a hormone panel run and assessed for Low T. There's too much to get into via the little grey boxes. Just know that there's a lot of new supporting data available that warrants going down this particular rabbit hole.

Today, boys and girls, I argued with someone I like that Pope Leo is not going to influence any vote for the mid-terms. Or divide the GOP if the anti-semitism fails. My MIL is dead, as it might have influenced her as she was influenced by her liberal homo brother to vote for Obungo.
I argued that Catholics who voted for Trump see through this propaganda.I could be wrong. I rarely am wrong, granted, but I could be. I also seem to be arguing a lot lately and am unsure why. I guess I am tired of baloney...oooh...let's all freak out! on any given day.
I also tend not to fret about the mid terms or what a Pope says (even though I am a brand new Catholic). This, too, shall pass.
While I wish sometimes President Trump would pick his battles and comments a bit better, I still have no regrets for voting for him three times.
And I agree that he does not need to apologize because Leo should care about the Nigerians murdered for their faith, the tens of thousands murdered by Iran in recent months, and who knows how many secret Christians in Iran.

Just got home. Drove about 60 miles to another town to buy a set of used tires for my '88 Chevy pickup. Got a little less than half way home, and the charge warning lamp came on in the '08 Suburban I was driving. And I no longer had power steering. Engine was running just fine, though. I pulled off the highway onto a field approach, and popped the hood. Serpentine belt shredded, and the tensioner idler wheel was gone; disintegrated. Welp! No tools on board, it's just a local cruise, right? Called a friend, and he came and picked me up, and drove me home. I parked the 'burb between two gates, so it's not blocking access to either field, and the wellheads there. Tomorrow, I hitch up the car trailer to my '99 Suburban, and go fetch the wounded warrior.

When I was old enough to know better, age 7yrs or so, bored on my grandmother's front porch while it was raining, I swallowed a tiny, tiny plastic bead making jewelry on purpose and with no reason. The guilt nearly killed me and I told my mother before I went to bed (in the event I croaked). She told me I would be fine.
I would like to see the clay pot eater's teeth. Tik tok is (I don't have a word for this).
I somehow survived the mid-'70's and college and don't recall having to eat weird stuff to prove anything. I did party very hard and guess that was our generation.
The current generation seems to be lacking IQ. Maybe all the tatoos and piercings and gender confusion.

The problem is that Americans basically treat so much technology and other things as if it was magic. There are people who literally cannot unclog their toilet with a plunger. Personally I do not care for the "Customer says..." videos. Sure some people are dumb-asses mocking people who are willing to fix their busted shit, and sometimes shit does fail, is kind of being asshoe.
From personal experience literally every time I chose to have work done (because special tools, time, etc.) I have to fix what they broke or did not put back together correctly. There are some really good mechanics on the Youtubes, but most shops are 'c' level. Dealer shops are 'd' level.

Totally agree as a brand new Catholic after a life time of Presbyterian. It is not a "sect" but where all Christians started and I boomeranged back.
I probably view the pope differently than some, and that's ok. He is a man who should not be dabbling in political divides and instead trying to help those who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus. And not entertaining David Axelrod because he's from Chicago.
Have to assume the Candace Owens and other anti-semetics had reached their peak so why not try to divide the Catholics? Good try as I think we've seen this before. Leo apparently has not met President Trump and, well, Trump does not cave.

But I'd not suggest that a depressed person help a random charity case. Not on their own or alone.

Regular exercise can help, but if you're willing to truly "unpack your baggage" a good counselor will help. They're not easy to find but they exist. It's not a fast process. Despite what popular culture wants us to believe, you can't just wish away depression or self-loathing. Talking about it helps, especially if you can express your feelings without anyone passing judgement on them.

Sweetie...it depends on if a reason due to being sad for yourself or someone...or a general depression of many things/stress/fatigue/illness. A reason of one thing vs vague malaise.
I am rarely depressed and not much help, but prayer works for me (most recent was our son's wife's miscarriage). I cried for a day, prayed a lot, tried to help him stay strong for his wife, and was better the next day with hope through faith and prayers for them.
As others said: work, exercise, sunshine and prayer if you are a believer. I take everything to God if I am anxious.
It was not overnight and faith is never easy, but it happens.
God loves us all and hears your prayers of why you are depressed. I will pray for you tonight.

OK, if I'm short on potassium, maybe I get a jones for some bananas, because I've eaten bananas before and maybe my body knows it gets a good potassium hit when I eat them.

Clay is full of a lot of cations in its mineral makeup. Calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, aluminum, iron, and others.
Plus there may be other stuff adsorbed into the microporosity of the clay crystals.
