19 Oh man. I've been using these little old bluetooth workout-style headphones (66 Audio BT Sport) with my computer this whole time -- very convenient, have lasted many years of light-duty use, and are still going strong -- but I finally got a higher audio quality set (OneOdio A71), and the clarity is incredible. They're not expensive at all -- not even really "studio" headphones, more like "DJ" level -- and they're amazing. I can hear so much more from the same YouTube music videos.

I feel like I cheated myself out of years of higher enjoyment for no reason. No wait, I finally rewarded myself with higher future enjoyment! Yeah, that's the ticket. But seriously, consider getting better sound if you love sound and have been just "getting by."

Skip, you had a truck in your senior year? I was still riding the damn bus. There were a few of my classmates who had cars, but not many, or maybe the ones in my social circle didn't.

When I got to college the next year, the campus was full of cars and part of the orientation included how to obtain your parking permit. I hated going to that commuter school: It was just like high school, except vastly bigger and nobody knew me, and I had a 45-minute bus ride each way.

K-6 we didn't even have buses. In 7th-8th, was 2 blocks short of having bus service; lived 5 minute walk from high school.

Now you see school buses picking up practically all kids.

38 Oh, I walked to grammar school; it was only three and a half blocks away. At ages seven to eleven I thought it a long slog, at least when going to the school in the morning.

Starting at twelve I had to ride the bus to school. There were no junior highs or high schools within walking distance. Both bus rides were about twenty minutes each way *once you got on the bus*; waiting times varied.

Or long lines of mommies in SUVs, dropping off and picking up their sprogs. It's insane.

The only time I ever got *driven* to school was during a bus strike when I was attending the commuter college. I managed to get my father to drop me off. You'd have thought I was asking him to drive way out to the Gulf Coast. "You've been the one yelling at me to 'get that degree'," I reminded him. "If you'd taught me to drive and helped me buy a car two years ago, you wouldn't have this problem!"

I got a lift back home from one classmate or another, chipping in for gas. This was when gas was about .50/gal., which seemed high then.
