Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | You're Not Going to Believe This, But Leftwing "Republicans" Are Pitching, Get This, Comprehensive Amensty Reform Yet Again, This Time With a Hot New Name Designed to Appeal to Your Psychology: "The DIGNITY Act"Well who could possibly be against Dignity? You're not against la dignidad, are you, Racist? This bill is cosponsored by 20 "bipartisan" Democrats and Democrats who run as Republicans because the rubes they're conning lean right. It is pushed by long, long time Amnesty Whore Maria Elvira Salazar.![]() Bonchie Does that sound like a lie to you? Because it is: Community Note It's not just that, either. The bill specifically forbids the use of court records to establish someone is a gang member. It pretends that gang members aren't eligible -- but then forbids the government from using court evidence to show someone is a gang member. Now I have a feeling I know the lie she'll offer: Well, if someone is convicted of being a gang member, then they would be barred from amnesty. But hang on: Who is ever "convicted of being a gang member"? There is no crime of being a gang member. Gang members are frequently jailed -- but for things like extortion, murder, rape, arson, theft, selling stolen goods, importing and selling drugs, etc. You might get a sentence lengthened if the prosecutor, during the sentencing phase, then presents additional evidence that in addition to the crimes you've been convicted of committing, you're also a gang member. A judge might make it a condition of someone's parole that he no longer participate in gang activities -- and a prosecutor or parole officer might present to the court that the criminal has violated that condition. But this isn't "conviction for being a gang member." It's intelligence and evidence presented to a judge in a post-sentencing hearing, not presented to a jury to determine if someone is factually a gang member or not. But this is exactly the kind of evidence this nasty lying whore forbids the government from using to prove that someone is a gang member. So there is literally no evidence that the government can ever present to prove someone is a gang member and hence not eligible for Salazar's Mass Amnesty. So all gang members will be granted amnesty, because the government is absolutely forbidden to open its records to show someone is a gang member. But she'll lie to you and say that proven gang members aren't eligible. Asterisk: There is no evidence permitted to be introduced to prove someone is a gang member. But this isn't amnesty, Bigots. READ. THE BILL. BEFORE. YOU OPEN. YOUR MOUTHS. RACISTS.

This sounds like indentured servitude. Americans need to drop the racism and accept we overwhelmingly benefit from immigration. It should be easy to understand given our ancestors were trafficked here or they just showed up. Immigration reform is just never going to get done I guess. Parts that make this bill super awesome--if you seek the destruction of the United States:
- It defines excluded criminals as only those convicted of felonies. - It allows any who have been deported to come back and claim amnesty - It removes direct and extended family members from the visa cap counts; nuclear-powered chain migration - AND it increases the visa caps What do Americans get out of this deal? Well, we get $1000 per amnesty granted. Lemme see, since pretty much everyone in the world will now qualify for this amnesty: $1,000 X 8 billion on Earth = $8 trillion ... not even 1/4 of the national debt. One of the many things that pisses me off about amnesties and the Donk commie cocksuckers is that when they have held control of Congress and the White House during Biden's first two years, they could have cut the illegal alien Gordian Knot by passing legislation raising the number of LEGAL immigrants to an insane number. But legal immigration isn't the point. The Donks want these people to be illegal, because they're more useful. They can more easily be enslaved if illegal, they can be used as a cudgel to pummel those heartless conservatives, they can be used to grift tax dollars into NGOs and they bring their shit-hole cultures into the US to turn us into a shit-hole country to advance the Donks' ultimate goal of the destruction of Western Civilization. Spanberger argued that she has been clear in her support while prioritizing governing in the early months of her administration.

There's another yuge problem and boondoggle in this abomination of a mutation of a diseased leper of a bill:
Section 438 ("Loan Forgiveness For Legal Service Providers at Humanitarian Campuses") sets up an entire new infrastructure to provide free legal representation to illegals. The section forgives student loans for lawyers who agree to provide this representation. The entire idea is to create an army of young, idealistic commie lawyers eager to fight for open borders. Broader question no one wants to even ask.
Why are we allowing dual citizenship? Until 1967, Dual Citizenship was outlawed by Congress... in fact the ONLY dual citizen before the Supreme Court over ruled the Laws written by Congress... was a specific law passed by Congress to make General Lafeyette a dual French American Citizen... to try to save him during the French Revolution. All of our laws said you had to choose ONE citizenship or the other... and... it worked pretty damn well. If a Baby is born on US soil, then at 18 MAKE them choose one citizenship or the other. Period. Or... hmmm... a Law that all dual Citizens, upon their 18th Birthday, are DRAFTED into the US Army.... to prove their Loyalty to the US. If they refuse? stripped of citizenship. There is no serious argument but America is way to the left of where it used to be and yet the left generally argues America is worse now then it used to be. The original DREAM act introduction dates back to 2001. Obummers DACA executive order was issued in 2012. Those proposals had significant support, at least in concept, and by some polls, a majority.
Note the critical dates on this bill: 2020 and 2021. Hmmm, what happened on those dates? Could it be, first the.promise, and then the action, of removing all enforcement of US borders? This bill is another slight of hand, bait and switch conflation, designed to convince the great unwashed, with the help of the left wing MSM that the support that the old DACA proposal had should transfer to here and hand amnesty to the millions that flooded our country later. Giving free stuff/money to people who will not work is not dignity! It de-incentivizes personal motivation to get a job and become productive, again creating a feeling of self-worth and dignity.

Posted by: Washington Nearsider: Gotterdammerung at April 09, 2026 01:47 PM (FmapG) No. It is a very student of human nature position, especially when dealing with politicians, who, as a group, act, almost to a man, in their own self-interest, especially when it comes to lying to your face and telling you what exactly they think you want to hear. If there is nothing that the age of Trump has taught us, it is that actions should be the predominant indicator of a politician's trustworthiness. And Rubio's actions ON AMNESTY, to date, indicate a negative outcome, when he is trusted to make his own judgement, when he is relatively insulated from public scorn as a Senator. There have been no actions to date ON AMNESTY that are worthy of granting any benefit of any doubt on this issue. That is discounting nothing Rubio has done as Secretary of State while under the explicit direction and control of Trump. But how much of those action bear in the slightest ON AMNESTY. To my mind, nothing. Posted by: Comrade Flounder, Disinformation Demon at April 09, 2026 01:54 PM (dK+Kv) 264

"The legendary “130 years of case law” said to establish the citizenship of anchor babies refers to an 1898 case, U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark, that took the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of citizenship to freed slaves and gave it to a child of legal immigrants. Manifestly, the opinion in Wong had nothing to do with illegal immigrants. Otherwise, Brennan wouldn’t have had to announce his personal opinion in 1982 that children born to illegals should be treated as citizens. It would already have been the law." https://tinyurl.com/5n67m733 Posted by: illiniwek at April 09, 2026 02:01 PM (vbXSk) 291

I love how "immigration reform" means just one thing to lefties: amnesty. Real immigration reform would be returning to the status-quo-ante the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 (Hart-Celler Act), but with even more and harsher enforcement mechanisms. I personally favor a free-fire kill-zone along the border. YMMV.

Ann is an outrage merchant that uses outrage to sell her books and to sell her lectures. The real Ann Coulter dated Bill Maher, had a political crush on Chris Christie, and whose actual political work was in the 90's. Stephen Miller is the real thing, Ann is an earlier version of the influencer model of GOP and more akin to Tucker, etc. It is a lot harder to actually craft legislation and pass it than write a book or give speeches/talks/post a column. Even harder to work in an GOP administration and change regulations, enforcement, and deal with saboteurs from within from leftist Civil Service and your own RINO colleagues that go native. the confounding data here is how stone cold dumb our congress is
Posted by: BlackOrchid I am of mixed feeling about Sundance but he got this one dead on. Congress critters are essentially marketing operations for bills cooked up by a) leadership, b) outside interest groups that fund their campaigns. The Congress critters spend their days raising money for the next election, ensuring their soundbites and folksy bullshit media activities go without a hitch, and making their families generationally wealthy. There was serious doubt that Congress could even do regular order after well over a decade of simply passing continuing resolutions, and even those Congress often relied on omnibus bullshit bills rather than the older regular order of committee, appropriations, then conference. There is a reason that legislatures are finding their powers usurped by the judiciary on one hand and the executive on the other. Their members simply do not do the hard work of legislating, oversight, and budgets anymore. They vote on them but spend the rest of their time doing their top three activities--making bank, selling their image, and selling their ass to special interest donor groups. Democrats are almost always 100% behind their POTUS’s agenda. They stay in line and focused. Posted by: Lizzy at April 09, 2026 02:31 PM (4KUe5) ------ Realistically, yeah it is too much to ask. The left is a death cult that will march off of a cliff like lemmings no matter how stupid it is. Those of us nominally on the right are always going to have a bigger independent streak than the collectivist left. It's unfortunate in our two-party system that it creates a disadvantage for us as it gets us people that have to "buck the system" for whatever reason, and the left marches in lockstep.

I don’t want the GOP to be just like Dems, but they actively thwart their party’s own president.
They have kneecapped Trump since the first day he announced his first presidential run. It is insane that they plan to do this until he’s gone. Not just a few randos, McConnell and Thune and Ryan. It is not asking too much to freaking work with Trump and stop plagames like no Senate recess while slow-walking his nominees. Posted by: Lizzy at April 09, 2026 02:39 PM (4KUe5) 408

381 Gotta say, this is depressing and infuriating. Going to read LOTR for the next few days and clear my heart.
Posted by: Inspector Cussword ======== Don't be. It is a fake and gay op bill never intended to pass but to raise money for the RINOs from corporate interests wanting open borders. Dems joined in because why in the hell wouldn't they? This was specifically designed to drive down turnout on the right in House elections. The way to actually win is to ignore the bullshit and hysteria today and aim at consequences for those members. If not now, next two years. More so if you are in those districts. Primary each of these bastards. Remember what Dave Brat did to Eric Cantor over this issue. That killed the 2014 Grand Amnesty bullshit. That anger is what needs to be channeled into productive activity instead of less useful activities. Posted by: whig at April 09, 2026 02:41 PM (E4rtv) 410
Spot on.
Add to that they're just a generally intellectually unimpressive group of people who are also bone lazy. Posted by: ballistic ======== Well, they do work, just not doing the people's business. Personally, I could not stomach to be a politician from the slimy interest group reps, to smiling at uninformed idiots and malicious hecklers, and dealing with people that want something for nothing every damn day. I've seen it up close and personal enough to drive me out of working in politics back in the 90's other than at the local level or state level 2A advocacy. So it almost requires being a sociopath to some extent to even want the job. Posted by: whig at April 09, 2026 02:44 PM (E4rtv) 411
Still going to re-read LOTR. It's good to see good vs evil and see evil sputter and fail.

Laura Ingraham had Rep. Mike Lawler on her show last night, and she really took him to task over this bill. As she told him about some of the negative points of the bill, he kept denying that it would do what she said it would.
As I was watching it, I suspected that he did not have a background in the law (Laura does, and clerked for Clarence Thomas). I checked Lawler's resume, and while he's a reasonably smart guy with a degree in Finance and Accounting, he doesn't have a JD. With her legal background, she was able to see things in the law that Lawler couldn't. Hopefully, he'll see articles like this and withdraw his support. It claims it has all these checks for "felonies" in the process. Isn't any illegal who is here illegally guilty of a felony ipso facto?
