It's not just that, either. The bill specifically forbids the use of court records to establish someone is a gang member. It pretends that gang members aren't eligible -- but then forbids the government from using court evidence to show someone is a gang member. Now I have a feeling I know the lie she'll offer: Well, if someone is convicted of being a gang member, then they would be barred from amnesty. But hang on: Who is ever "convicted of being a gang member"? There is no crime of being a gang member. Gang members are frequently jailed -- but for things like extortion, murder, rape, arson, theft, selling stolen goods, importing and selling drugs, etc. You might get a sentence lengthened if the prosecutor, during the sentencing phase, then presents additional evidence that in addition to the crimes you've been convicted of committing, you're also a gang member. A judge might make it a condition of someone's parole that he no longer participate in gang activities -- and a prosecutor or parole officer might present to the court that the criminal has violated that condition. But this isn't "conviction for being a gang member." It's intelligence and evidence presented to a judge in a post-sentencing hearing, not presented to a jury to determine if someone is factually a gang member or not. But this is exactly the kind of evidence this nasty lying whore forbids the government from using to prove that someone is a gang member. So there is literally no evidence that the government can ever present to prove someone is a gang member and hence not eligible for Salazar's Mass Amnesty. So all gang members will be granted amnesty, because the government is absolutely forbidden to open its records to show someone is a gang member. But she'll lie to you and say that proven gang members aren't eligible. Asterisk: There is no evidence permitted to be introduced to prove someone is a gang member. But this isn't amnesty, Bigots. Salazar, You probably don't even know this... but he word "dignity" in your bill's title carries decades of political science literature behind it. Dignity shifted from something that originates within the individual to something engineered from above by institutions. When the UN, NGOs, and multilateral bodies invoke dignity, they mean the replacement of organic, inherited civic bonds with managed, contractual ones administered by a professional class. That is the tradition your bill's language is drawing from, whether you intend it or not. On the substance: the DIGNITY Act is amnesty. Symbolic barriers to permanent residency do not change that the bill provides a path to legal status for tens of millions of people who entered the country unlawfully. Others have dissected the policy details thoroughly, so I won't repeat their work here. But I want to press a different question. Why the insistence that this isn't amnesty? The most straightforward explanation is that you know your constituents oppose it. They voted for enforcement, in the most demographically diverse Republican coalition in modern history. That coalition didn't ask for managed integration. It asked for sovereignty. The Founding Fathers built a republic from the bottom up, starting with human nature as it actually is: rooted in specific communities. The rules-based international order builds from the top down, starting with an abstract ideal and engineering populations to match it. One of the many things that pisses me off about amnesties and the Donk commie cocksuckers is that when they have held control of Congress and the White House during Biden's first two years, they could have cut the illegal alien Gordian Knot by passing legislation raising the number of LEGAL immigrants to an insane number.

That is discounting nothing Rubio has done as Secretary of State while under the explicit direction and control of Trump. But how much of those action bear in the slightest ON AMNESTY. To my mind, nothing.

There is a reason that legislatures are finding their powers usurped by the judiciary on one hand and the executive on the other. Their members simply do not do the hard work of legislating, oversight, and budgets anymore. They vote on them but spend the rest of their time doing their top three activities--making bank, selling their image, and selling their ass to special interest donor groups.

They have kneecapped Trump since the first day he announced his first presidential run. It is insane that they plan to do this until he’s gone.
Not just a few randos, McConnell and Thune and Ryan. It is not asking too much to freaking work with Trump and stop plagames like no Senate recess while slow-walking his nominees.

This was specifically designed to drive down turnout on the right in House elections. The way to actually win is to ignore the bullshit and hysteria today and aim at consequences for those members. If not now, next two years. More so if you are in those districts. Primary each of these bastards.
Remember what Dave Brat did to Eric Cantor over this issue. That killed the 2014 Grand Amnesty bullshit. That anger is what needs to be channeled into productive activity instead of less useful activities.

Well, they do work, just not doing the people's business.
Personally, I could not stomach to be a politician from the slimy interest group reps, to smiling at uninformed idiots and malicious hecklers, and dealing with people that want something for nothing every damn day. I've seen it up close and personal enough to drive me out of working in politics back in the 90's other than at the local level or state level 2A advocacy.
So it almost requires being a sociopath to some extent to even want the job.

As I was watching it, I suspected that he did not have a background in the law (Laura does, and clerked for Clarence Thomas). I checked Lawler's resume, and while he's a reasonably smart guy with a degree in Finance and Accounting, he doesn't have a JD.
With her legal background, she was able to see things in the law that Lawler couldn't. Hopefully, he'll see articles like this and withdraw his support.
