53 Art Institute of Chicago:

"...the artist transformed an episode from Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), in which Professor Otto Lidenbrock and his nephew Axel discover a prehistoric forest deep inside the earth. Delvaux showed the professor at left, examining a rock or fossil; behind him stands Axel, who bears a striking resemblance to the artist himself. Under a full moon, a group of women in the background appear like automatons. In the foreground, several figures combine human and vegetal elements; these ambiguous figures seem to embody a primordial, as yet undifferentiated, state. A woman in the right foreground and another in the left middle ground, both in Victorian dress, hold lamps and try in a vain to shed light on the unyielding mystery of the scene."

The Awakening of the ForestDate:
1939
Artist: Paul Delvaux
Belgian, 1897–1994

It began: Paul Delvaux painted The Awakening of the Forest in the late 1930s, after having adopted Surrealism as a visual language to give form to his inner world—one populated with childhood memories and fantasy.

It ended: Despite the multitude of naked figures and their detailed description, The Awakening of the Forest retains a detachment that adds to its strange and mysterious effect.
---
>Wikipedia Overview, in part, "Paul Delvaux was a Belgian painter noted for his dream-like scenes of women, classical architecture, trains and train stations, and skeletons, often in combination."

>Wikipedia, Paul Delvaux: In part, "In 1929, Delvaux first met Anne-Marie de Maertelaere, whom he nicknamed "Tam", and they fell in love. However, his domineering mother forced him to separate from Tam, exacting his promise to never see her again.[24] Delvaux was greatly saddened by this, and his paintings took on a more isolated, lonely, detached tone."

I saw all 4 episodes.

I wanted to like it and it had some funny parts but overall, it wasn't very good.
Problems:
1) Too "nice". It lacked the real edge of the OG.
2) Too woke - this was the "healing" version where everything and every one was just perfect the way they were. Esp. the trannie- we got a long speech from it at the climax.
3) Too much Hal. Probably because Bryan Cranston is the only real star to emerge from MitM. And I'm sure he demanded extra time and character development.
4) Too tiresome in the "modern" way. I was looking at my watch.
Not horrible but just not very good. Stick with the reruns.

Will this do?

Israel Hayom: The U.S. has begun enforcing a naval blockade on Iran, targeting all vessels entering and exiting its ports across the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

The move is expected to inflict about $435M in total daily losses across Iran’s exports, roughly $13B per month, even as its oil revenues rose 37% during the war to about $139M per day.

The IRGC had been operating a paid “protection corridor,” charging up to $2M per vessel in crypto, but the blockade could halt exports, disrupt imports, trigger food shortages, and accelerate the collapse of the rial.

Iran’s oil storage could fill within 13 days, forcing production shutdowns.

Can anyone direct me to this forest?

300 Yeah, I was initially confused why Trump was doing this, but it's an excellent way to accelerate the demise of the regime without destroying the infrastructure and putting misery on the Iranian people. And of course it also annoys the ChiComs.

I didn't understand earlier that when he said he's shutting down the Strait, he's allowing ships headed to UAE and other Gulf oil producers to pass. He's just not allowing ships headed to or from Iran to pass. Smart move.

303 The EU couldn't plan a fart at a chili cook-off. Europe is a metric museum of failure.

The world is a special needs daycare and the US is the only babysitter, and she's getting cranky.

Some people's kids are gonna get spanked.

307 Operation Epic Fury is just one battle in the 47 year long war started by the Iranians invading US territory. I would like that this battle is successful and its goals are achieved and the 47 year war ends.

The Pope's social media posts seems to imply I'm not being a very good Catholic unless I beg Trump to end the battle prematurely and send the mullahs pallets of cash in an attempt to bribe them from developing a nuclear weapon instead.
