The Morning Rant

punk-monkey.jpg

Bernard Lewis, the great scholar of Islam, said:

For Muslims, negotiation is a form of warfare, conducted by other means, and is subject to the same rules.

In the traditional Islamic view, the world is divided into the House of Islam and the House of War. The latter is assumed to be at war with Islam until it submits... weakness invites attack, strength commands respect.

Westerners, and particularly Western governments often make the ridiculous assumption that Muslims are part of the empirical, logic-driven philosophy of the West. And even more laughable...they assume that honor, and simply doing what one says one will do is a bedrock of Muslim culture, just as it is in the West.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Lies, subterfuge, propaganda...all are accepted methods of negotiation in the Muslim world. The idea that there is some sort of code of honor between people is laughable. Strength is lauded; weakness is mocked and taken advantage of. And following through with commitments is simply unheard of. Behavior is based on what is best for Family, Clan, Country. If that agrees with an agreement, then wonderful. If not...it is also wonderful.

Trump confirms U.S. sent guns to Iranian people, but says intermediary kept them

President Donald Trump on Monday indicated that the U.S. had attempted to send guns to the Iranian people to help them fight the Islamic Republic's armed forces, but that the intermediary that was supposed to distribute the weapons merely kept them instead.

"We sent some guns," he said. "They were supposed to go to the people so they could fight back against these thugs. You know what happened? The people that we sent them to kept them."

"So, I am very upset with a certain group of people and they're gonna pay a big price for that," he added.

President Trump is understandably frustrated by what is a common behavior in the Muslim world. Cheating and stealing? Yeah...so? But unlike his predecessors, President Trump may very well punish that behavior, which would be a novel response in the Western world. The Muslim world has come to expect the West to negotiate from a position of weakness, because they simply do not understand the Muslim mindset. While it is unclear that President Trump understands it, it is abundantly clear that he doesn't like it.

Iran expected a typical Western military campaign...a few bombs, a few missiles, and they could then get back to their strategy of obfuscation and delay while working to create a missile force that would be unstoppable.

That President Trump turned that on its head is a testament to his resolve, and his understanding of the geopolitical reality of a nuclear Iran. But most of all it is obvious that he does not trust the Iranian hierarchy, and that is a sea change in Western dealings with the Muslim world!

I don't see this as a distinguishing feature really or a particularly damning criticism. Trump bamboozled Iran's mullahs into thinking negotiations were ongoing and decapitated them. This Artemis mission is happening because Elon Musk laid down several markers saying "we aren't finished here, space exploration has only just begun," and it forced NASA out of its torpor and made it *do something big in space again.*

At the same time, AI (for better or worse) has forced the energy sector and government regulators out of their corporate, and brought back nuclear power science. I feel this keenly because I live in the region that is the beating heart of nuclear energy's bright new feature. I'm literally watching them build out all the capacity on a daily basis.

All of this began in King Trump's first glorious regnancy. From a technology standpoint, he has strong armed the US government into turning the clock back 60 years. It's probably the mist concrete example of MAGA he can point to.

And Israel has been bombing the convoys of militias crossing the border at the same time.

Calling in reserves when there's literally no sign of a ground invasion happening (it takes...a lot to prep that especially on the other side of the globe). it is absolutely infuriating to see how completely disconnected so many of you are from the actual mood of the people inside Iran.

Do not lose your nerve. Do not be afraid.

The narrative you are seeing right now is a complete illusion.

The voices currently being amplified online are fake, manipulated, and engineered by the cyber army of this cannibalistic regime.

They have locked us in a digital prison and severed our connection to the world specifically so they can control the narrative and project a false sense of fear and submission.

We are not cowering in the dark. We are watching a dying terrorist syndicate thrash in its final days.

Do not judge the resolve of the Iranian people based on the fabricated noise of our captors.

Firebombing of Tokyo.

Firebombing of Dresden.

Firebombing of Hamburg.

Two atomic bombings - that only spared Kyoto itself because Stimson lacked the nerve for it. I'd have greenlit that shit without blinking.

There were many, many more less gigantic but very brutal air actions executed by the Allies, all within the same basic framework of phony international laws we have today.

I doubt Trump has anything like those in mind for Iran. People need to get some fucking perspective.

Kurds in Iran. Trump said this earlier. Apparently these particular Kurds (depending on who you believe are separatists) stole both the US firearms and Starlink terminals for resale and some of both ended up with IRGC. This group was used apparently starting from months ago and proved to be treacherous as the opposition in cities never received what they were supposed to get.

For the most part, the US has had an idealized ideal of the Kurds as noble opposition fighters due to mutual opposition to Iraqi central government whereas in reality, and from behavior in Europe and other Middle Eastern countries from Turkey, Syria, and Iran, they behave par for the course for Muslims and the Middle East.

The irgc is going to do the same and they are going to have to be rooted out from wherever they are hiding and killed before this can end the way Trump wants it to. 188 As I understand it, the Christian victories over invading Muslim armies at Tours (732) and Vienna (1683) occurred when Christian cavalry attacks against the Muslim army encampments in the rear put the loot captured by the Muslims at risk. The Muslim troops headed back from the front line to attempt save their goods.

A LOT of the "converts" to Islam did so because looting was encouraged by mohammed and his demonic successors.

It's amazing how easily hard-won knowledge gets lost so foolish people have to learn the same lessons again.

I'm re-reading 'The Gathering Storm', the first of Churchill's wartime memoirs. His reflections on how the victors of WWI allowed the rise of Fascist Germany are very revealing, and incredibly insightful.

193 Japan was complete insane during WWII and the Emperor and the leadership were willing to fight to the last school girl brandishing a sharpened stick against US Marines.

Even after dropping the sun on them twice, surrender was barely an option.

I suspect resistance to be just as nuts with Iran.

Then all bets are off.

200 The really hysterically ironic thing about Elon and NASA was that the JEF gave Elon a seat at the table early on to stick it to all the incumbent "White" defense contractors and he had no idea that he was playing with a man on fire.

Or that NASA was so decrepit they couldn't recreate something they did 50 years ago.

Yes, we have the JEFs malignant "America Sucks" attitude to thank for SpaceX preeminence in space right now.

We've been striking them non-stop, day and night, for 5+ weeks so far. I don't think we actually worry too much about a night benefit anymore. Hell, day strikes might be better, as Trump would get better video footage to show and crow about.

While he might do that, I'm pretty sure he wants to give the impression that he will do that.

He'll accept losses, and given his history of failure and rebirth, he is willing to gamble, but I don't think he's just throwing the dice. I think he just has a higher risk tolerance than most people (and MUCH higher than most politicians.) High risk, but high reward.

As our country has been slowly drowning from the shackles put on for 80 years, I'm pretty sure that mindset is EXACTLY what we needed.

214 Grok on space toilets.

Artemis/Orion toilet: This is the Universal Waste Management System (UWMS), a compact, lightweight version designed for deep-space missions. It's about 65% smaller and 40% lighter than the main ISS toilet. Urine is vented overboard (with occasional issues like frozen vent lines, as seen recently on Artemis II), while solid waste is stored in odor-controlled canisters and returned to Earth.

The Orion unit has modifications for the lunar journey (e.g., different controller software and no connection to a water-recycling system). It's the first toilet purpose-built for a crewed mission beyond low Earth orbit.

ISS toilets:

The station has multiple units (currently around 4 on the ISS itself, plus others on visiting vehicles).

The primary U.S. segment uses the Waste and Hygiene Compartment (WHC), which includes an older NASA toilet plus a tested UWMS unit for demonstration. Russian segments have their own designs. On the ISS, urine is often processed through the Urine Processor Assembly to recycle water back into drinking water ("today's coffee is tomorrow's coffee"). Solid waste is stored and later disposed of via cargo vehicles like Progress

221 It's frustrating, encountering so many people who think that because the Islamic Allah is a monotheistic creator god then Muslims must be very similar to Christians.
- This is never brought to address the Muslim hatred of Jews, who also believe in their monotheistic Creator God;
- This does not address the Moslem rejection of the divinity of God's son the Lord Jesus Christ...which is the entire basis of Christianity, fer cryin' out loud.

These folks seem to have never asked a Muslim about this supposed "similarity." If they had, they would have learned that Muslims also hate and reject Christians, but Christians are not their priority at the moment.
