6 Also, Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend in Australia (for those states that follow it) so starting Tuesday these posts will be half an hour later. Or thereabouts.

9 >>>Sounds good as long as I don't have to write term papers longhand.

#metoo
I was in a class where it was required to write papers by hand. I typed about a bazillion words a minute, and for pay, and I asked to be able to type my papers. I was told no; because when people typed and made typos, they blamed the typos on the typing and on the typewriter. And I said: how about if I take responsibility for any typos. And I was given an exception! This was An Important Life Lesson.

21 I just listened to Ketanji Brown’s attempt to argue that a wallet theft in Japan would necessarily create an “under the jurisdiction of” part of our 14th amendment by a prosecution of said crime. At least that’s my interpretation of her insane hypothetical questioning. She sounds disturbed, if not just retarded. But, that’s the brilliance of our current Supreme Court.

A broadly shared interpretation.

24 Ketanji is a perfect example of what DEI has done to the nations intellect.

Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice at April 02, 2026 04:43 AM (iMotb)

25 Ace took up the Ketanji Wallet story yesterday under "Quick Hits":

Justice DEI wanted to prove that it's no big deal if millions of Fake American Citizens actually owe their primary allegiance to a hostile foreign country, so she embarrassed herself again.

She claimed that if you're in Japan and subject to Japan's laws, that means you "locally owe your allegiance" to Japan so what does it matter if we have 10 million Chinese anchor babies planted here by the CCP?

We all owe our allegiance to some other country sometimes, baby.

Wasn't that the basic plot line for 'The Island'? Maybe 'Coma'? It's a fairly popular subject for dystopian scifi.

33 Looks like the replacement Kwikset smart lock arrives today.

On the downside, the 2006 Volvo V70 replacement turbo appears to have developed a good size shaft oil seal leak into the airside housing.

And a need for a replacement for the replacement passenger side axle.

Both repairs would be under warranty but replacing the turbo is a royal pain.

Would rather replace Kwikset locks.

34 R3/Brainless Clones: One of the ideas they put forward is being able to have your brain transplanted into a younger clone of yourself in a sort-of-fountain-of-youth scenario.

I can imagine this going wrong.

- Medical technology has advanced enough to do this, complete with full joining up of all the nerves.
- The operation is a success.
- The patient goes horribly and utterly mad not because of post-op infection or tissue rejection, but because while they're in a clone of their own body, and their mind had already adjusted to the older version, and it unexpectedly refuses to make the necessary adjustments to a younger version.

(Extra bonus points if the patient is named Frank.)

G'morning Horde!

@Pixy: Plenty of tech news this morning, well done.

42 "The guy can't even lie well, so he's not qualified to be a politician."

I would argue the point that Democrat Politicians are not required to lie well. But simply to lie.

Watch or read any utterance from the Left.

They vomit falsehoods with no effort to make their statements believable.

For reference, a surprising number of places, not just Halifax, differ from The Rest of The World by just half an hour. New Zealand is a real hum-dinger.

55 @51/Way, Way Downriver: "For reference, a surprising number of places, not just Halifax, differ from The Rest of The World by just half an hour."

The province of Ontario in Canada passed a law to go to permanent DST back in 2020, but it's conditional upon Quebec and NY State doing the same. This leads to situations where everyone is waiting on everyone else to "go first", and nobody does. Here we are, six years later, and we're still doing the time change dance twice a year. Freakin' lame.

Re: the video: When Tommy Tutone burst out in the '80s with that "Jenny" song with the phone number, I thought his name was spelled "Two-Tone," like a 1950s car paint job. I wasn't in radio any longer and didn't read Billboard, so I didn't know.

So, whatcha doin'?
