This name is traditionally linked to the rising sun, symbolizing the resurrection, and was adopted to replace earlier Pascha celebrations.Dune: Meowsiah. Dog slept so deeply he attracted a vulture. Big bunny bread for its meat is rescued and living his best bunny life. Puppy's been training for this very moment his whole life. Street argument. Rescuing a neglected senior dog (who looks like a teddy bear now). Last week I posted a short video of a bear waking up from hibernation with Stage IV bedhead. There's more to the story. That was an elderly circus bear callously discarded by the people he used to make money for. He's now been rescued and given his own paddock to walk around in. Low-energy cat. Lightning strikes are God's way of telling you Do Better. #DoBetter, people. Cats are why we can't have nice things. Further evidence. I will never forget this dog's birthday party because it's a nightmare dreamed by a demon. Guys pretending to listen to their wives. Koalas should be seen not heard. Fuck man that's awful. On April 1, Delhi Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh announced the phased removal and replacement of roughly 140,000 Chinese-manufactured CCTV cameras — the majority supplied by Hikvision and its rival Dahua (Zhejiang Dahua Technology).
These devices, installed under the previous AAP government between 2020 and 2022, make up more than half of the city’s 274,000-camera network. They are now being ripped down and swapped for secure, India-compliant systems. Posted by: 13times at April 02, 2026 07:49 PM (RiT5e) 19

I'm calming down. My dog Ralphy seems like he's trying to kill himself.
It's been two weeks since he fell out of my bed. I took away the doggy stairs so he can't jump up there without me around. I lift him up. I lift him down. Not a problem. He went outside. Came back in. I'm in my chair looking for a horror movie. For some reason, this 14.7 year old dog decides he'll run and jump on the bed like he used to do. His bacl legs are very strong, but not THAT strong. Ralphy hit the bed, fell backwards. He's fine. He's walking. He looked so stunned. I have two more weeks of pain pills. He's laying on the bed now. The Word according to Grok:
February 25, 1992: The Department of Defense issued DoD Directive 5210.56 ("Arming and the Use of Force"). This directive established strict limits on carrying firearms on military installations. It generally prohibited DoD personnel (including active-duty service members) from carrying privately owned firearms on base except in very specific official capacities, such as law enforcement or security duties. March 12, 1993: The Army followed up with Army Regulation 190-14, which implemented the DoD policy more specifically for the Army. This is the regulation often cited in discussions about "disarming" soldiers on base. Prior to 1992, policies varied by service and installation, but service members generally had more flexibility regarding personal firearms (though open carry or casual carrying while on duty was never the norm). The 1992 directive standardized and tightened the rules across the Department of Defense. Posted by: Tonypete at April 02, 2026 08:24 PM (cYBz/) 116

Stationed at NAF DC (Andrews) one could use the Air Force indoor shooting range (no problem with that, the guys were great, no appointments) but if you were a barracks rat the gun was stored there. Left a pride and joy, a Smith and Wesson model 41 there. Now I know the range guys would take stored guns back to try out, but a nice rusty fingerprint in that beautiful bluing kinda pissed me off. Started keeping the guns in my room, locked up and locked in a locked locker, which is about as locked as you can get.

I’ve seen lightning right in front of me in the car; but what made me jump the highest was during our great ice storm about 5 years ago. (I guess you could call this synthetic lightning, since it came from a main trunk power line for our neighborhood that runs next to the street in my front yard)
The storm was quiet, kind of a whispery thing, but it was heavy, and it had reached the point where you could hear limbs cracking and falling all over about every 30 seconds. I shouldn’t have gone outside but it was eerie and fascinating; no people or animals out (smart) just nature behaving in a really unusual way. So I was walking towards the front when a decent size limb came out of the oak tree right onto that powerline. Stretched it almost to the ground, I thought would break but it didn’t - and then one end touched the ground and 40,000 volts arced through it. BAM! Looked and sounded like lightning, given that I was only about 40 feet away it really sounded like an explosion. Damn!!! I'm unfamiliar with the details (probably because Japan does its own thing, so anime is not much of a guide here) but I understand that the basis is the Hindu "Yama Courts". You get judged by the lawbooks of these Asian cultures, like disrespecting your parents is among the worst sins. Then you go to a hell that befits those sins, or the judges figure out a fitting reincarnation for you. It's all a little baroque for a Westerner like myself. I figure that someone who messes up bad enough in this life to be sent to a worse one, is unlikely to find any better help in the worse one. Posted by: gKWVE at April 02, 2026 09:07 PM (gKWVE) 188
Best three ways to prepare eggs; poached, boiled, and preserved, -pickled in vinegar for longevity and spicy, -but not for breakfast.
Scrambled and over-easy are great but the less work the better. Medium is right out, and fried-hard is only for sandwiches. Omelettes are always good, but more work. I can't seem to get sunny-side up right without low heat and a little steam. Easter eggs are a seasonal distraction. Posted by: Rev. Wishbone at April 02, 2026 09:08 PM (UqSya) 189

So... I've seen enough. My prediction for 2028 is the DNC is going to run a mostly scripted circus primary intended to take all of the air out of the Republican side.
A bunch of fake shock jock style squabbling with a lot of Safe Branding, in-fighting, and most of all a constant drumbeat of all the focus grouped leftard pet issues. If they even bother with issues at all. And out from the rubble, whoever the pre-chosen one is will emerge the "winner". Not sure who it is yet but it will more than likely be a man. Arby's Horsey Sauce or Woebers Sandwich Pal (pretty much the same) makes for some good deviled eggs.

Tea eggs are an asian thing. Hard boil the eggs then roll them around and crackle the shells, and soak them for a couple three days in very strong tea. You can make the tea with extra salt and herbs like star anise and ginger.
They are pretty, and I guess they taste better too, but I never tasted much difference, but the whites get stained in a nice cobwebby pattern under the cracked shell. Posted by: Kindltot at April 02, 2026 09:14 PM (rbvCR) 197

Posted by: Ben Had at April 02, 2026 09:22 PM (+nEug) I was a dishwasher goon/prep cook in an Alaska restaurant. The breakfast cook was a master of over easy eggs. No spatula, just really good pans and a flip. He also did omelets with a slightly larger pan. He always washed his own pans, and kept them in a separate spot, draped with towels. Kind of an autist thing, perhaps. Posted by: Pug Mahon, Trumpy can do magic at April 02, 2026 09:28 PM (0aYVJ) 224
