I don't care for cubism, or any mode of art that uses the fracture of reality to create the picture. it seems like the artist enjoys breaking creation and remaking it in his or her mind's image, and it is twisted and uncanny.
Impressionism, though, I find beautiful. The picture is clear when you have distance, as if the artist is saying, take a step back so you can see the whole, not just a tiny portion that may not make sense. In a nutshell, I wouldn't hang this in my living room. Posted by: moki at April 07, 2026 09:36 AM (wLjpr) 47

Ok, to go back on everything I just said as far as car design- I actually LIKE the Tesla Truck. For whatever reason, the design has grown on me as time has gone by.
Dunno why, but it works for me. The biggest issue I have is the front headlight. James May had a video which was actually a fairly decent critique on the body style from a design perspective. He pointed out that a lot of car manufacturers stayed away from strictly straight lines because it was very hard and precise to get them to meet properly between panels. So if the machining and fitting is off just a little bit, then you can see that the corners do not match at a join. He also pointed out that having a single light bar as the headlight meant that people ahead of you cannot judge very well how far away you are because you do not have split headlights. Near the Palace
Lyonel Feininger Charles and Camilla in palace isolation? --- Context: Painted in Berlin during the onset of WWI, the piece reflects a sense of isolation and dark, inward retreat through its deep tones and compressed space. Subject: It is based on a drawing Feininger made of a street in Weimar, Germany, featuring stylized architectural forms. Style: The painting is noted for its "crystalline treatment of light and form," blending emotional tension with structural, geometric lyricism. Location: The painting is in the collection of the Norton Simon Museum (Pasadena, CA). About the Artist Lyonel Feininger (1871–1956): A leading exponent of Expressionism and a key figure in the Bauhaus school. Feininger was at Bauhaus with Paul Klee. The Nazis shut Bauhaus down as producing degenerate art. Klee’s agent collected many of his works and sent them to the US for sale, saving them from being burned. Klee fled to Switzerland. His reaction painting, “Struck from the List” is powerful.
