I'm painting three very large plastic Easter eggs. Using pearl white over a yellow base is.... finicky. It's taking forever. The rest of my Easter decor is finished. One old wooden toolbox stuffed with flowers and a rough cross that Hubbymayhem made. In front of that are three painted pots for the eggs. And a little vintage painted wooden bunny.

If I ever get the eggs right it should look pretty.... um, pretty.

Eh, it’s been open season on Whitey for decades now. Everyone was too frightened to mention this in polite company, for the mortal fear of being called “racist”. It is absolutely hilarious to watch “liberals” dance around the issue of avoiding, ah, certain demographics and their customary vibrancy.

30 or 40 years ago the academics were complaining that whitey was moving to the suburbs or rural states to avoid high crime and general enshittification of the society. It’s no accident that decades later Barky and the Boys in particular employed a process where they flooded suburban and rural areas with their favorite illegal aliens. “You will be made to care” kind of mentality.

165 This may seem unimportant, but the aspect of the painting that most effects me is the way Christ is shown. This isn't the scrawny physique, like a skinny Hippie, so often used. Christ is shown as a muscular, very physical man, killed in his prime. His expression doesn't deny the agony but he still appeals to His father to forgive his murderers. Everything else, well done as it is, is secondary.

This might be the most effective painting of the crucifixion ever created.

Life gets hard at times. Keep your faith strong. It all matters. It all works out in the end.

Strange to get into the stage of life where relatives and friends begin dying -- when the rhetorical idea of death becomes real. I've lost my dad, two aunts, and an uncle in the last year. People who are constant fixtures in one's life. And the idea that this is not the end finally starts to come clear. Jesus said to the guy on the cross, "Today you'll be with me in paradise." First, the thief was unremarkable apart from his deference to Christ. Second, when the Creator of the Universe calls what is awaiting us "paradise," you KNOW it's going to be good!

Happy Easter, all!
