[Every. Single Day!]

Good morning boys and girls and every thing in between. Before we enter the Prayer Revival just a few housekeeping matters to go over. (Rulz for those of you in Poy Sippi.)

1) This is an open thread. Feel free to lurk, opine and/or bloviate.
2) Be kind, be nice. Ace's house, Ace's rules.
3) Running with sharp objects is highly frowned upon.
4) Have a great weekend!

AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List

Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo at-sign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.

Prayer Requests:

2/14 – L gave an update on her brother Ron. He has been in declining health for the last 6+ months, and has been transferred to a nice facility for hospice. They had been discussing this possibility for months. He would make improvements, then relapse, each time ending up more disabled. The best part is that he is at peace with the decision. He is aware enough to assist with the final plans and is enjoying parceling out his remaining possessions to family and friends. L’s daughter’s cardiac recovery continues. L says she cannot thank all sufficiently for the many prayers.
3/21 Update – Ron’s struggle is over. He died on 3/9. His 65th birthday would have been 3/22. His funeral was well attended and many people described him as their “best friend”. Despite never being married of having children, he leaves a legacy to be proud of. L’s daughter has finally recovered enough to start cardiac rehab. They expect great progress. L and her husband are rebuilding their relationship after putting it on the back burner for far too long, and working to get healthier. Thanks to everyone who prayed. It has meant a lot.

2/20 – Gouveneur Morris requested prayers for herself as she has surgery scheduled for 2/27 for spondylolisthesis.
3/5 Update - Gouveneur Morris’ surgery was successful – every prayer and thought directed her way is appreciated.

3/2 – RickZ posted that he received bad news. He went to the ER with muscle pain and came out with a cancer diagnosis. He could use prayers for an extremely capable oncological team of cancer specialists, and that God guides their hands and minds as they work to rid Rick of cancer. And also that God would provide him peace and calm, and to help sustain him through this trial.

3/5 – Inogame posted the good news that baby #5 arrived! Baby was overdue by 12 days. Mom and baby are doing well. Baby was 9 pounds 8 ounces, and 21.5 inches long.

3/5 – IrishEI has learned that she needs major surgery on 3/16, and she would really appreciate prayers.

3/7 – Uncle Slayton posted the good news that his son-in-law, Kenny, is almost 3 years cancer-free. He beat lymphoma and leukemia, and Uncle Slayton wanted to thank everyone who prayed for him.

3/7 – Joe Kidd sent an update on a previous prayer, for a young girl named Jasmine. She is the adopted daughter of a friend of a friend. She had been rescued from abuse, but was withdrawn, etc. The friend took the family on an RV trip, and with lots of TLC for Jasmine, things have improved. It appears that God has surrounded this young girl with an army of angels, and your prayers for her are being heard. May those listed here and whispered elsewhere receive similar affirmation.

3/7 – vmom deport deport deport requested prayers for GB, the husband of her friend; he just had a quadruple bypass a couple of days ago, following a heart attack.

3/10 – Warai-otoko asked for prayers for a sister-in-law with some respiratory issues, who just took a hard turn for the worse. Thanks to everyone, even if you just take a fraction of a second for it.

3/10 – Update on Susan, who we have been praying for as she battles cancer. She is hospitalized again with an infection in her colon that quickly turned bad. The doctor says the signs are sepsis but they are running tests to make sure. The good news is that the pancreatic cancer was and is responding to the chemo and her cancer numbers are going down. God bless and thank you!
3/19 Update – Susan is still in the hospital, but she is doing 100% better. The doctors are not ready to release her yet, but everything is going in the right direction. They keep saying “maybe tomorrow”.
3/23 Update – Susan finally was able to come home. She is doing better than expected. Thanks to everyone for your prayers.

3/11 – Bulg sends a prayer of thanks. He called his formerly estranged sister on her birthday, and they had a wonderful conversation. It was their second conversation since February, and there was no animosity at all.

3/11 – Doof sent his appreciation for the Horde’s prayers for his mom, who has been in post-hospitalization rehab since mid-January. She has recovered from her illnesses, but her body seems to be increasingly giving up on her. PT has become too painful and exhausting for her. She is also having increased brain fog and is rapidly losing the ability to do things like answer her phone or send texts. Continued prayers requested for her, as she is very sad, and also for Doof and his sister as they figure out what’s next.
3/16 Update – Doof’s mother is not doing very well. Her 100 days of post-hospital rehab will be ending soon, and she is not nearly recovered enough to live alone. She’s almost completely confined to bed. She will be moved to long-term care soon, and will likely be there for the rest of her life. They appreciate the prayers.

3/14 – Retired Buckeye Cop asks for prayers for Mrs. Cop’s cousin, “A.B”. He has been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. He is a retired police officer who was hit by a car years ago. He attempted to deal with the pain by self-medicating with too much Tylenol, which ended up poisoning his liver. His only alternative is a liver transplant, but he is uncertain if he wants to have surgery.
3/21 Update – A.B.’s situation isn’t quite as dire as originally thought. It’s still bad, but his readings are better than originally thought.

3/18 – TecumsehTea requests prayers, as her husband was fired from a job he enjoyed very much on 3/17. Prayers are needed for peace, direction, and clarity. They trust God will provide the right job at the right time, and that He would give them peace in the waiting. TecumsehTea is still dealing with the effects of her heart attack last July. Prayers for healing, as her BP continues to be unstable. Chronic Lyme disease and autoimmune disease complicates everything. She trusts that God is faithful and good and He will take care of their needs.

3/21 – FenelonSpoke asked for prayers for her son, who is still looking for work. He has a horticulture major, and would ideally like something related to research, but he is certainly willing to labor outdoors.

3/21 – Count de Monet gave prayers of thanks for a son who has been accepted into the IVEW Apprenticeship program. He will earn while he learns for 4 years on his way to becoming a Journeyman Electrician.

3/21 – pookysgirl asked for prayers as they start IVF again.

3/22 – Retired Buckeye Cop has a happy prayer request. His 16 year old grandson said he is feeling a call to the priesthood within the Catholic Church. He is a devout young man who has particular compassion for the poor. (He thinks he might want to be a Franciscan friar.) Please pray for L. H. as he pursues the vocation of religious life.

3/22 – JackStraw asked for prayers for IrishEi. She has been in the hospital for nearly a week. It sounds like she is on the mend, hopefully.

3/24 – NR Pax requested prayers for a friend. On Sunday, the friend went to ER after collapsing at work. After a series of tests, she was found to have pulmonary arterial hypertension. Her current prognosis is five years left to live.

3/24 – GMAC posted that he has received his death sentence. His prostate cancer has metastasized into his bones. Medication will slow it down, but there is no stopping it. He doesn’t know how much time he has, but plans to do some travelling while he can. He sends his compliments to “the wittiest group of morons” he has ever had the pleasure of reading. He will still be lurking.

For submission guidelines and other relevant info, please contact Annie's Stew, who is managing the prayer list. You can contact her at apaslo at-sign hotmail dot com. If you see a prayer request posted in a thread comment, feel free to copy and paste it and e-mail it to Annie's Stew. She tries to keep up with the requests in the threads, but she's not here all of the time, so she may not see it unless you e-mail it to her. Please note: Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks or so unless we receive an update.

9 I ask the horde for their prayers.

My dear friend and boss of 20 years passed away on St. Patty's day. Rather suddenly I might add.

Exactly a week before, we had our weekly catch-up call where we discussed things I was working on such. He sounded horrible. He said he had either the flu or Covid or something. I told him to go to the doctor. Little did I know he already had.
Friday rolled around and he hadn't been seen on Teams, hadn't logged in since Tuesday - and this was not normal. So I texted him. Didn't get a response. Saturday morning I called him. In what I can only explain as divine intervention - and I really am starting to believe it - I called his number and it picked up, but it was like he had butt-dialed me. I heard noises in the background but he wasn't speaking. I called out for him but he wasn't there. I called back - again it picked up on the first ring except this time I heard a voice in the background "we need to tilt the bed up so the oxygen line doesn't get kinked."
Turns out he had advanced stage 4 stomach cancer that had spread to his other organs. I flew down to Florida as soon as I found out. I saw him Sunday. Tuesday he was gone. Far toosoon

11 Good morning all. Had my last chemo for Lymphoma this week, I've come through it reasonably well, and surely your prayers contributed. Thanks so much.
Six weeks to a PET scan to see how well the chemo worked, so continuing prayers would be much appreciated. I trust in God but every bit helps.

Please accept my condolences on your loss.

I understand the desire not to burden others with one's problems, but I do find it annoying when a major health issue arises and it is kept secret. My mother is a habitual offender in this regard. Yes, it's one thing for every conversation to be a litany of grievance and sorrow, but a brisk update before moving onto the latest exploits of the grandkids/family/mutual friends is helpful, if for no other reason than to give notice that an in-person meeting should happen sooner rather than later.

I can't help but contrast that with my father, who talks to me several times a week and we share notes on various maladies and the decline of his wife (my stepmother).

Suffering in silence has its place, but visiting and comforting the sick is an act of mercy, and it is unfair to deny people that opportunity, especially in the early stages when one is reasonably active and still somewhat healthy.

34 Before I forget to mention: Back in January I'd asked for prayers for my dad who had a stroke when I was out visiting. I just wanted to give an update.

He's going through PT and OT every day at home. Mom got some cooperative folks at the VA and a note was put in his record that he was not to have any appointments more than fifteen miles from his house.

Things are still rough as mom is handling things like taxes, investment accounts and the banking. And dad's condition is stable but it will change sooner or later. But they are living in a great retirement community and he'll be taken care of.

Awesome! Grandkids are the best. My father didn't want to have kids, and neither did my mother, until she did and, as I have seen repeatedly, when the woman changes her mind, that's it.

Anyhow, he never related well to children, but he does enjoy the grandkids and especially his great-grandkids, who he thinks of often and always asks about. When they missed school, he sent them get-well cards. He'll be having Easter brunch with us, and they are very much looking forward to seeing him.

But, reading the responses, reliving all the totalitarian lies, still gets me incandescent with anger.

43 The entire Biden-Democrat reign, specifically the COVID Anarchy, The Russia Hoax, and the outright fraudulent use of taxpayer monies to fund subversive political operations should be instructive. If you look at contemporary occurrences such as what is happening in Virginia, and the Democrats unabashed support for illegal immigrants in the DHS funding it’s clear they not only want to continue the corruption, the have double down on it.

And yet a disinterested apathy prevails. Amazing.

When did that "I'm too stupid to understand what you are saying" mode of argument take root? It's all over the place. It may be funny to induce rage strokes, but it makes you look completely retarded. And also gay.

Trump's critics frequently complain about how he has "coarsened" public conversation, but I see him as a necessary corrective to over-policed PC speech where people got away with that stupidty. Don't want to be called a retard? Stop acting retarded.

And yes, that word does serve a very necessary purpose because it perfectly describe people acting intellectually disabled on purpose. Never go full retard.

No. People are getting on with their lives. I made a deliberate decision to move forward rather than dwelling on all the wrongs committed. God will take care of it. Those who refuse to repent will pay a heavier price than they - or I - can even imagine.

I think accountability has already come for some, and think it is important to remember that resolution happens on God's timeline, not yours. Getting mad because the thing you want isn't happening when you want it to is foolish and self-destructive.

46 Believe it or not, I recently stumbled across what I felt was a prayer thread worthy comment on X. I extracted the key thought and present it below:

Years ago a friend suggested to me that when wrestling with serious matters, I should wake up each morning and ask God to reveal himself to me, then go through my day keeping my eyes peeled for any signs, and then thank Him each evening for the day when I go to bed.
And the happy news is that I did get my answer and it has changed my life!

49 >> When did that "I'm too stupid to understand what you are saying" mode of argument take root

I had to spend a lot of time in airports the past few weeks. The amount of people who “both sides” the blame for this TSA mess is astonishing. The most astounding part is that people don’t understand simple facts such as the fact that what Democrats are attempting is not just unprecedented, it is specifically a move to support illegal aliens. Period. It’s a move meant to undermine federal immigration law and slow down their removal, in particular criminal illegal aliens.

I get that people are angry and don’t have time for politics. But if you’re going to discuss the subject at least get a fundamental understanding of the issue.

Posted by: Marcus T at March 28, 2026 08:58 AM (VnVVA)

50 Popping in to say that L is in need of prayer. Turns out he was not rear ended. The mat In his car got stuck on the gas medal and he went into the opposite lane and swerved to avoid a truck and hit a tree. His car went up in the air, flipped over and landed on the ground on the roof. It is totaled . He was able to crawl out, and has some cuts but is otherwise ok. He is blessed he didn't die or was not more seriously injured, thanks be to God, but he is understandably shaken up.

Yes, my old man is the same way.

In my friend's case however, he had gotten some bad information in the weeks preceding his death. About a month ago, he went to his PCP and said he was having severe stomach pain after eating. PCP ran some tests and got a PET scan of his stomach. Based on those results it was the opinion of the oncologist that it was non-aggressive, operable and treatable mass that was cause for concern but not life-threatening. They performed a biopsy, and after the biopsy, he took a major downturn. Thats when he went to the hospital ER, and they did a full abdomen scan and found that it had spread to his liver, colon and lungs. By the time I got there on Sunday, his kidneys and liver had already given out - he was only alive because of dialysis. I don't think he meant to keep things from me... I think he thought he at least had more time. He didn't.

I try to say a Rosary at least every week. Sometimes it seems daunting to set aside that much time for pure prayer, but it always is fruitful because when you are stuck there, as it were, you become open to new thoughts and promptings. So many times things just pop into my head, ideas of how to solve problems or understanding something difficult.

We have a ton of things moving in the back of our minds, unresolved problems, concerns, just sort of running like a subroutine that you forgot about and then, when you quiet yourself, turn to God, there it is.

Also great for setting aside wrath and lowering the ol' BP.

I think the worst part of the COVID-19 Wuhan vaccine demicide is still hidden.

Based on the emphasis on lot numbers, I expect enemies of the Deep State, identified by Google profiles, were specifically targeted. The damage and death results were correlated with American loving attitudes. Look at who we lost here.

Dr. Fauchi, the inner CIA, and Deep State killed many more people than Hitler killed Jews.

It is now clear to me that the Democrats know that without cheating, they cannot win. That is why even senators who are normally moderate are all-in. Slotkin is in a purple state and won election by cheating. It's obvious. There is no way that people who voted for Trump then voted for Senator CIA. Impossible.

She gulled the rubes by being moderate, but every single time she opens her mouth in a hearing, she demands promises that ICE not go near polling places. Gee, why would they do that?

62 >> No. People are getting on with their lives.

I don’t doubt that part. There is a lot we should and do leave in Gods hands. But there’s a point where you should at least do your small part and, say, vote in elections. Maybe even seek His wisdom as to the choices we make. In the end it’s His will that is done, and I can live with that.

68 So here's my Long Live Death - influenced take on where we are: A large faction of Democrats have recognized that their plan to create a permanent underclass has failed and are prepared to wreck the system rather than accept this. Lawless judges, states passing laws they know are unconstitutional but doing it anyway, the complete disregard for campaign promises - these are all indicators that they are beyond reason or restraint. And now we're seeing jury nullification for violent crimes against their enemies.

Where does this end? Well, the next step historically has been widespread assassinations, not just of major figures but judges, law enforcement, etc. They think that this will cow the opposition because they themselves are very much afraid of physical harm. What they do not understand is that both sides can climb the escalation ladder, and the general public as a whole does not like lawlessness and violence. This was true in 1968 and it is true today.

So there will be a crackdown, and there will be martial law and they will get crushed.

Recently I philosophized that we, as individuals, tend to greet each new today as one that will be very similar to yesterday.
Then one day, we wake up to a new day that is nothing at all like any day we have ever experienced, and we simply cannot redo yesterday, although we may be able to atone for it.
I have internally paraphrased Marcus Aurelius as guidance:

"Live each today in such a manner that tomorrow you will still be proud of what you did yesterday!"

72 This has been the most 'successful' Lent of my life. As a child, giving up something for Lent was regarded as a deserved punishment. The assumption seemed to be since Christ suffered, so should we. There was a certain grim aspect to the approach.

Fast forward many decades and I realized Lent should not be seem as a time of punishment but as a time to limit everyday distractions; to contemplate the lessons and actions of Christ as they apply to our lives. That awareness leads to a better appreciation of our place in the world and gives more meaning to the renewal of life as spring blossoms around us. Instead of grim continuation it leads to joy.

73 (cont) People speak of a civil war but that's not really possible at this point. To have a civil war you need armies on both sides. The left has Antifa and street gangs, plus a smattering of woke cops and bunch of fat retired flag officers no one likes. Their attempts to subvert military discipline merely made the troops laugh at them. They love Hegseth, they love the warrior ethos he is bringing back and they love the hell out of beating Iran to a bloody pulp.

A huge chunk of them are wondering why we didn't do this 25 years ago, and save a lot time, money and lives. The reason why Walz, Newscum and Pritzger didn't call out the National Guard was that their generals told them it would be a federal crime and the troops would happily help arrest them. The DA in Philly bragging about arresting ICE will be immediately taken into custody.

In Spain, the 'conservative' faction was the rebels, and that caused the military and security forces to split. My great fear was that Biden would provoke armed resistance (say by trying to arrest a GOP governor of fake charges) and thereby create a flashpoint where the military would similarly be divided. That danger no longer exists.

82 (cont) This is not to say that we are free from danger, or that we should be complacent. We should be confident, though, and disregard all the black-pillers who want to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

The bloodiest part of wars generally takes place when the outcome is no longer in doubt. The tide has turned, and whether we are looking at the world wars, the American and Spanish civil wars, the pattern is borne out: one final massive bloodletting is necessary to finish the job and compel the losers to accept their fate.

The good news is that our enemies are moral and especially physical cowards. Their entire playbook is based on playing the victim, creating fake incidents of police brutality to make themselves sympathetic. The problem is that you cannot murder and then cry for mercy.

They also really think that they are the calm, restrained ones, and that all conservatives are cowards. Voluntary martyrdom is strange and scary to them. Calm courage is unknown. They cannot accept that Trump can have physical as well as moral courage, hence them insisting that he wasn't shot, or it was a hoax. He cannot be brave. Only they are brave.

And that is why they will lose

87 NR Pax ... she was found to have pulmonary arterial hypertension. Her current prognosis is five years left to live.

*********

NR Pax- If I may comment, a couple of things occur to me about this story. pulmonary arterial hypertension is not a single disorder. It is usually more a response to an underlying condition. If it was. detected during a preliminary evaluation for a syncope event (fainting), it was likely determined from an echocardiogram. The echo does not measure pulmonary blood pressure directly, but by an indirect method with a lot of user interpretation variability. Routine echos are not usually done with a doctor in the room. The reading doctor relies on the technician's skill level. The GP should not be relying on his own reading of the printed report. PHTN is often over diagnosed by echo. Prognosis is variable depending on these factors.

Key questions for your friend to ask would be:
1.) How severe is the PHTN? (mild, moderate, severe)
2. What is the underlying condition causing the pressure to be high?

Hopefully this will be a false alarm for her.

But this is also why Obama and later Biden tried to gut and completely transform the military. This is where the 'civilian defense force' comes from. They want to neutralize or subvert the existing structure but at the same time build their own, reliable (to them) military force.

The Covid purge was an effort to speed up the process and it backfired in a huge way. Yes, the "right people" quit, but no one but a handful of useless freaks replaced them. It's one thing to reduce a force overall while making it more ideologically loyal, but the way it happened was not a consolidation but service-wide attrition.

What that meant was that *every unit* became less capable, and the people left became overworked and also decided to quit. The ones that stuck with it were either financially stuck (so they were mailing it in while watching the calendar) or too stupid to do anything else. The loss of capability was staggering.

The defeat in Afghanistan probably had a larger effect, because it also spurred competent people to separate. So what Biden had (and Harris was supposed to inherit) was a crumbling, rusting, mission incapable force riven with internal divisions and distrustful of its leadership.

Yes, there were enough people who were capable and watching the calendar left to turn things around, and the tip of the spear managed to stay sharp.

But if you look more deeply at things, you see a pattern. Trump used only the most elite parts of the military in his first year: strategic bombers, special ops. These groups are self-selecting and the institutional safeguards are very difficult to breach. Fitness standards, intellectual capability, competence have very high baselines even to be considered.

The Navy maneuvering off Venezuela for weeks was basically extended training and a shakedown cruise. The reason the Navy and Air Force are the tip of the spear right now is because you can take the cream off of both quite easily and build "rainbow packages" (composite, not gay) from multiple units/fleets and they will be able work together seamlessly. The Army cannot do that. Troops need to train together for months to be effective. Space Force is similar - tiny, niche, nerd-centric.

The current sheriff repeatedly told me he wouldn't investigate further due too lack of resources and wouldn't refer the case to CBI due to lack of evidence.

122 >>And I think I'm a sex machine to all the chicks.

It's one thing to think it; it's an entirely different thing to actually be it. I know this from experience.

If only I could learn to drive while high.

And yet, you will always know that you did the right thing and made the effort.

A perfect example of why this Prayer Thread is so vital to, and necessary for, so many of us!

125 The surge in recruiting since Trump was elected is further changing the composition of the force. The woke tools are being pushed out by more competent, energetic troops, which is the way it always goes. When recruiting slows down, you can't afford to kick people out, so standards drop. When it is robust, you have an abundance mentality and kick people out for minor reasons.

This is why the correlation of force is now so lopsided and changed so fast. My daughter is tempted to stay in because things got really bad because of the stupid staying, but she's ready to enter the next stage of her life and see what it is like to be an adult with open weekends for the first time in her life.

126 97 This one also amused me. Three black ICE officers laugh when a lefty loon in the airport calls them fascists.

I love this one. The one recording is so smug and full of his own self-perceived importance. He's standing up to the man! Truth to power! Doing something! So brave!!!!!

127 Glory to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the time of our death. Amen.

St. John Capistran, pray for us.

I have prayed Rosaries for the Horde's intentions, both stated and unstated.

128 Benedict Arnold, aside from that one little indiscretion, was probably the best general we had during the RW. The same certainly cannot be said of Pence, who is a block of wood, and not one of the brighter ones.

132 Had the minions actually running things under *biden had their way with Kamala and Walz they'd have had a two decade run to "fundamentally change the country."

Kamala is a female version of *biden. With the bonus of being "black." I think the movers and shakers figured they could leverage that and institute draconian security measures nationally. Race is always a huge motivator with the left.

After 8 year of her, and nationally things nearly sorted out so the left never loses another "election" Walz slides in as another figurehead. Too stupid to know he's not running anything. For another 8 years.

The left came really close to achieving their dream. They'd planned out 20 years to subjugate America.

134 Speaking of Tiger . . .

Budensiek said Woods, who crawled out of the passenger door, “did exemplify signs of impairment.” Woods agreed to a breathalyzer and showed no signs of alcohol intoxication, but after refusing a urinalysis he was booked at the Martin County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office. He was charged with two misdemeanors: DUI resulting in property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

Good news! Prayers continue. We have a good friend who survived first, lymphoma and then colon cancer. He is still cancer free.
So glad to hear you are doing well.
