I was just watching this Beatles video of "The Night Before" that someone linked, and the video quality is amazing. 4K widescreen and perfect. I assume it was enhanced with AI, since it's apparently from the Help! movie, which was allegedly not shot with that great of a camera. As long as originals are also available, I'm glad to have a nicer-looking version (if you can ignore the text scroll that the enhancer DRMPLX put directly on the image at one point). How do other people feel about that use of the technology?

I would like to ask prayers today for two people I know. One of my congregants, D, is having a colonoscopy and endoscopy today. She is a dear person and is rather nervous. Prayers that it would all go smoothly and the results be o.k

Greetings and good morning everyone. As I mentioned yesterday, I was dealing with only getting about 1.5 hours of sleep on account of being in a lot of pain. Things cleared up later that day and ibuprofen is proof God loves us. When I went to sleep last night, my body realized how bad the sleep deficit was and I was out within a few minutes of hitting the pillow AND my insomnia did not bother me.

@31/Ben Had: "You think we have fake news. The state media in Iran is telling people that Tel Aviv has been totally destroyed."
Sure, the Israelis could counter that with actual information (like getting themselves photographed with the current day's newspaper and a perfectly intact Tel Aviv behind them) - and some are! Better yet though, and far more amusing to me, are those Israelis who are generating memes to counter the Iranian state media showing Godzilla (or other fictitious beings) destroying Tel Aviv. I'd love for someone to make up a really awful looking paper mache mock-up of Tel-Aviv and then go stomping about in it on video, and hold up a sign saying "We're the Iranian State Media, totally accurate, trust us bro!" At the mechanic shop yesterday, turns out I need two new tires. Actually just the left front, which is five years old, but its two-year-old companion is worn down quite a bit too. Good idea to replace tires in pairs. So I'll shell out some dough next week.
I've always heard "put your best rubber on the drive wheels," and the Buick is front-wheel-drive. But nowadays tire companies recommend putting new tires only in the back regardless. What say you? Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at March 27, 2026 06:01 AM (wzUl9) 53

@52/Wolfus: You want your best/deepest tread on the wheels that govern your direction (ie, where the steering is): The front.

Wolfus, replace the tires on the driving wheels in pairs so that the drivetrain uses the same amount of torque to drive each wheel. Different tread depths (unequal wheel radius) and different treads (different coefficients of friction) will make the drivetrain work harder and out of balance.

Posted by: CrotchetyOldJarhead at March 27, 2026 *** Right. I hate to throw away a two-year-old tire, the RF, but the fronts wear faster, esp. being on the drive wheels. So it's as if the RF, though age two, is actually more than three, and the LF is over five. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at March 27, 2026 06:21 AM (wzUl9) 72

Fixed within a few days. In early 2024, an incoming intercepted missile scattered a rain of shrapnel over a large area. We have 2 half dollar size souvenirs on display in the house.
