Make currency great again!

Exclusive: Trump signature to appear on US currency, ending 165-year tradition

U.S. paper currency will bear ‌President Donald Trump's signature starting this summer, the first time a sitting president has signed American money, the Treasury Department said on Thursday.

The redesigned notes, planned to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, will also for the first time in 165 years drop the signature of the U.S. treasurer, who reports to the Treasury Secretary and oversees the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the U.S. Mint and other Treasury functions.

The first $100 bills with Trump's signature and that of U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will be printed in June, followed by other bills in subsequent months. The new bills may take several weeks to circulate through banks.
The Treasury is still producing notes bearing the signatures of former President Joe Biden's Treasury secretary, Janet Yellen, and former Treasurer Lynn Malerba.
Malerba will be the last of an unbroken line of treasurers whose signatures have appeared on U.S. federal currency since 1861, when the U.S. government first issued it.

The signature change is the latest effort by the Trump administration and its allies to put the president's name on buildings, institutions, government programs, warships and coins. A federal arts panel, whose members Trump appointed, approved last week the design for a commemorative gold coin with Trump's image.

This will make the leftists push even harder for a cashless society. I don't know about you, but I now want to go back to cash transactions even m ore now!

Dino, not sure if you've seen this...

World’s Largest Dinosaur needs a new home

doof-Worlds-Largest-Dinosaur.jpg

Anyone in the market to take ownership of the World’s Largest Dinosaur? The 86-foot-tall, 145,000-pound Tyrannosaurus rex named Tyra resides in the small town of Drumheller in the Canadian Badlands about 84 miles northeast of Calgary. If it helps sweeten the deal, surveyors recently certified her as, “safe, stable, and ready to welcome visitors,” even after over 25 years of hosting as many as 12 guests at a time inside its mouth/viewing platform.

Taking custody of the popular tourist attraction near the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology is serious business, but the town is on a tight schedule. Last year, the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce (DDCC) announced it would end its lease on the property in 2029, leaving the fiberglass and steel dinosaur’s future uncertain. However, officials made it clear that they weren’t leaving Tyra in a lurch.

“Completing a structural assessment was identified as the first step to better understand the attraction’s condition and expected longevity, so partners could begin to explore long-term options for the dinosaur,” the Chamber of Commerce explained in an update on March 20th.

In addition to a comprehensive review of the property’s integrity, Drumheller also recently invested a final $310,000 in exterior repainting and restoration to safeguard the T. rex through her last era under town oversight.

C'mon brother -- you just GOTTA acquire this!

Got one of these laying around? Could be time to sell it!

This '80s Decor Gem Was Once In Countless Homes — Now It's A Lucky Thrift Store Find

doof-vintage-fiber-optic-lamps.jpg

From "Miami Vice" neons to glass block walls, there are certain interior design features that should stay in the '80s. However, fiber optic lamps are a decor gem once found in countless homes, and now becoming a lucky thrift store find as '80s-themed rooms become this year's answer to the maximalist trend. Maybe you happily unwrapped a fountain-shaped fiber optic lamp right after getting a pair of jelly shoes or cassette player for your birthday. Or perhaps your grandma had a fancy floral version sitting inside its pristine clear-and-black plastic box on her mantel. If you can still put your hands on one of them, you might be surprised to learn just how valuable vintage fiber optic lamps are today, with many selling for hundreds of dollars.

***

If you happen to spot a vintage fiber optic lamp at your local thrift store, you'll probably want to buy it even if it's not exactly your style. Authentic ones in working condition can sell for hundreds of dollars on sites like Etsy and eBay. As with many vintage pieces, size and uniqueness will play a big role in how much you can expect to spend or make. Smaller retro floral versions like grandma had may only be worth between $50 to $100. However, large fountain-style and space age-inspired designs with substantial bases typically sell for between $150 and around $350. Midcentury Modern "UFO" base lamps are listed on Etsy for over $500, and exceptionally large and detailed versions can fetch over $700.

The Fellowship of the Ring has just arrived at the Gates of Moria on the western slopes of the Misty Mountains.

As I read through the description of their approach to the gate, I'm once again in awe of the level of detail that the developers of Lord of the Rings Online have taken in crafting the details of the virtual Middle-Earth.

The outer gates of Moria and the surrounding terrain are *exactly* as described in the books.

No. Flash Gordon is a genuinely good movie. It not only does what it sets out to do, it does so with style and panache. It is a swashbuckling science fiction story and is even true to its source material.

I have some guilty pleasures in movies, but Flash Gordon isn’t one of them.

Some interesting perhaps SMOD-adjacent news. The first quarter of 2026 saw a big uptick in the number of large meteor fireballs. The biggest surge was this month, and you have may seen some videos of those. Question is if this real or some reporting artifact, and if it is real, if it is significant. Here's a report on this by the American Meteor Society, not to be confused with the American Meteorological Society, which are two very different things:

https://is.gd/aI6Q9jO

As you can see, it's complicated. But there appears to be a genuine spike in the number of large fireballs, and it's coming from the antihelion area (region of the sky opposite the sun at any given time), and also from very high declinations, meaning objects on highly inclined orbits. These are small, and don't pose any impact threat or anything.

That lady in Maryland has more courage than the rest of the nation to call ICE before her roof was finished.

I have noticed there are not as many espanol speaking men coming to our door, leaving their cards, looking for work. A good sign!

Also, the one rental house on our street is a roofing business, and you guessed it, Hispanics. They've been very quiet since May 5, 2025 and a wild party. I hope they move when their lease is up. I guess better than Haitians eating cats.

110 I walked off a cliff in the desert southwest back in the 80s marveling at the stars. A short cliff thankfully, but … farther than I thought decent. It helped that I didn’t know how far it was, maybe. I didn’t tense up. When the wind started to roar a little bit in my ears I thought “Uh-oh … this is going to hurt” and I hit the ground right then. None the worse for wear. More than a few campers at GC and similar canyonlands have wandered off cliffs to their death getting up in the middle of the night to piss.

Also after ice storms. The sandstone hoodoos have nothing to grab onto. Horrible way to go

I heard a story about a lady weeding her garden and such on her knees with her third point of contact in the air. Their goat thought this too good to be true, and knocked her pretty good. She was pretty upset and that goat was made into lambchops by COB that day. LOL

#MeToo

We bought this place almost 11yrs ago and remodeled the entire thing over 3yrs of subcontractors just before the plandemic. Our roofer was probably American who had illegals, as I never heard English. Roof, furnace/AC and deck were the first major stuff within months of torture to replace.

Every morning and at quitting time one roofer guy would have an operatic song at the top of his lungs. Espanol music blasting all day. I think they were done in 2-3 days, so pretty fast and no complaints. I stayed in the basement the entire time and prayed it would soon be over. Which is how I handled the gutting of our kitchen as well on the main floor.

Worth it but I doubt I could do it again. My husband replaced all of the doorknobs and hinges, so it's all ours now.

The crazy chy knee woman who sold it had it painted 40 Shades of Mustard & installed beige sort of shag carpeting before the sale. That was the first to go. The paint was different in every room and a neighbor said she hired HS kids to do it...and it showed. Hideous!
Yet I saw hope and it's lovely now.

Brothers, sons, husband, etc fish in the boat and row it to shore, haul it up and that's it. Nothing fancy, and mud is ok. My only participation in my distant youth was to drink beer in the boat with my brother.

My father tried to teach me to fish as a toddler. I have a memory of catching a fish and running up the hill with the fish and him laughing. It was a cane pole. Then he tried to get me to bait the hook and I said no and that was the end of it.

Going tomorrow for a consultation with a radiologist - one of my smaller tumors has grown a little (all of the others have stayed the same). The oncologist thinks they may be able to kill this new growth with a few sessions of radiation. Will know more after we talk with the radiologist.

The good news is that everything is still confined to my liver - no metastasis to any other parts of my body.

Oncologist says I probably have at least 6-12 more months; maybe longer, depending on how the treatment I am currently on continues to work. So far, I am still feeling fine (apart from gaining weight due to the steroids that are part of this protocol) 👍👍👍

Black forks, black handlebars, completely black engines, oil tanks, shocks, along with the dull black satin paint. Its just too much.

Attention. Two vessels that were part of the Cuban regime's VIP flotilla have been lost at sea and cannot be located.

The Mexican Navy has just activated an emergency plan to try to find and rescue them. The anti-U.S. activist convoy has also requested help from the United States to manage to save them.

There were nine crew members.

Actually no it doesn't, oil is glossy. They haven't leaked since 1985 though, getting rid of the chain oilers was a major deal. Somebody at harley thought it was a good idea to have taps on the oil pump to oil the rear chain. Yeah where does it go after that, in the street, all over the bottom of the bike so it can gather in a few different areas and drop off the frame in 6 different spots. Do the owners ever adjust the oiler for minimum output? Nope, just let it drip. My 4 are all from the late 80's and earlier 90's. Never a drop under them.

I don't. Though it's impossible to know the full picture, no indications I know of that by far the most important and effective part of re-establishing rule of law in immigration - enforcement against employers - is happening at any level above the casual low level we've seen for years.

DHS does PSAs and such warning employers about enforcement. But AFAIK no chickens have been killed to scare the monkeys. Including large corporate criminals (meat-packing). A handful of raids, here and there.

Employer enforcement is not only, by far, the most effective/high leverage enforcement tool, it also is the one that *might* begin to rebuild some respect for the rule of law, if only through fear.

308 Evening.

So quick update on my gout which I've been complaining about from time to time.

So it's been pretty bad the last two months or so. Just keep acting up. Ends up bad enough I either can't walk or I can only painfully shuffle like a 90 year old man. Honestly, there are times I wish I had a walker. Allopurinol basically just stopped working. Taking NSAIDS has been advised against cuz of the ulcerative colitis but fuck it. But I've also noticed unlike a typical gout attack my feet don't hurt constantly. Gout flare ups are very painful whether you're on or off your feet. But right now if I'm off my feet it's like no problem. Also, I've been getting fever and chills when it starts acting up. So I'm guessing infection. Did you know gout can cause infections? I looked it up. News to me.

So I've got a tentative doctor's appointment in a week, assuming I can get home by then. But my dispatch fucked me hard and I'm stuck north of Fort Worth because they gave me the wrong fucking appointment time for a delivery. Now I have to wait until Tuesday. Cocksuckers.

Anyway, hopefully something can get done for my gout cuz this shit has been freaking unbearable.

He must have submitted to a breath test.
Most likely, Count One is DWI based on erratic driving and officer observing the trinity of slurred speech, bloodshot watery eyes, and the smell of alcohol; Count Two would be driving with a BAC over 0.08;Count Three might be something like BAC over 0.15, or possibly mixing alcohol and other drugs.

319 Both sides agree freedom comes out of a barrel of a gun. The top 1% own 98% of the wealth. Both left and trump populists agree the rich do evil things with their wealth what ever side you think jeffery epstein was on.

Hoping you find out what's going on and find some relief.

AI ? Now I'm going to have to watch it again . I was questioning how he took that hit. AI makes sense of him just popping back up.

325 BTW, the video of the guy getting rammed by the ram was AI.

I know, I was disappointed.

I'm kinda happy its AI. I was thinking that dude had injuries he wasn't even aware of yet.

326 That's some good AI. Only thing I question besides the guy popping up almost immediately was his sunglasses don't move on his face at all.

328 Normally you either get one DUI or an aggravated DUI per stop.

It's just three different ways to charge basically the same offence. Even if convicted on all three, it counts as one DUI and the sentence would be for just one of the charges, not all three. At least that's how they do it in Illinois.
