Quality Yak Content Cafe

mikehillsedit.jpg
By Mike Hills

Little girl raises wombat orphaned due to wildfire.

Performing a "shit hot carrier break," which I think means flying in for a carrier landing after a very tight final turn.

Using catapults to launch three wingsuit skydivers off a mountain. Unfortunately, not the kind of catapults you're thinking of. More like launch-sleds.

Special operators drop boats and then parachute out of the back of a C-17.

Men of a certain age will appreciate this hobbyist's efforts to make a Star Wars playset that never existed -- Luke Skywalker's workshop/hangar. You know, where he gives C-3PO the hot oil bath.

Albert the Camel somehow conned his way into a gig as a house pet. (I looked this one up, it seems real. I just got burned on another one.)

Flying a paramotor -- a parachute propelled by a fan -- to 17,500 feet.

Rescuing a giant bat -- a flying fox -- who got stuck in a school bathroom and scared people. Even though he's a cutie.

Wingsuit flyby of a castle. I have it cued to the castle fly-by.

Wingsuit flyby over the mouth of a smoking volcano.

DUCKS!

I get requests for more yak content, as, of course, most bloggers do. I hope this is sufficient: 1. a yak thundering across the steppe (I assume, I'm not clear on what a steppe is), 2, some kind of yak dance, and 3, a Tibetan Yak Butter Churning Dance. As they say in Nepal, "Girl who churns yak butter all day long has Hands of Paradise at night."

I haven't been this excited by erotic butter-churning since 2014.

Now that's some quality yak content I think you will agree.

8 Flying fox species vary in body weight, ranging from 120–1,600 g (0.26–3.53 lb). Across all species, males are usually larger than females.[11] The large flying fox has the longest forearm length and reported wingspan of any bat species,[3] but some bat species exceed it in weight. Its wingspan is up to 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in), and it can weigh up to 1.1 kg (2+1⁄2 lb).[12]

9 Yaks are large, long-haired bovines native to the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau, with two distinct species: the domesticated Bos grunniens and the wild Bos mutus. While domestic yaks are smaller (males weighing 750–1,300 lbs) and found in herds of 10 to 100, wild yaks are significantly larger, with males reaching up to 2,200 pounds and standing over 6.5 feet tall at the shoulder.

Not that familiar with Prince Sultan base but overhead following first attack showed normal/peace-time ramp use (planes parked in fairly close rows). Would think that place would have hardened shelter option (certainly no expense was spared).

Could be size of planes, or available shelter space. But still - dispersal would great reduce damage from leakers that get through defenses.

177 I was in a hit and run in college. My car was a year old, as my father replaced my old one after what could have been a bad wreck. I was avoiding a 13yr old in a pickup who ran a stop sign. To avoid I turned left into a deep gully, went down then up and spun some and perpenducular on the busy road. Thankfully no one coming. Broke the axle.

In the new car I was sitting at a light and a girl hit me going about 35mph, did not slow down at all. I had a headrest and seatbelt in my '69 Impala. I got out of the car and my bumper was dented a bit, but her radiator was blowing water and her car a mess. She was a mess.

She was weeping inside her car and I asked if she and granny were ok (see! I can be nice!). She said yes. Then I said, "Well, I hope you have insurance!" and stomped off to call my mother from a store.

My neck was sore that night but I was mostly mad. She was a simple white girl whose name was Fairy Lyn. I remember it because it was weird. I guess she had insurance as my parents dealt with it.

I'm glad you did not mess with the illegal, Fraiser. Altho, heaven knows what I would have done. I'd probably still be draped and dead across his hood at mamacita's.

I agree that no IRGC members should survive.

The US Navy had a saying: Gotta expect a few casualties in a big operation. We are sad for the injured, including the 2 severely injured today.

But compared to any other war or expeditionary force in our history, our losses are very low in number.

I believe the Senate of the United States is the greatest domestic threat we face as a nation. Its members serve private monied interests, for personal gain.

Seriously, I despise the Senate with the burning white hot intensity of a thousand suns.

199 Sitting in my '68 Mustang, waiting on the busy Strip to take a left turn into Der Wienerschnitzel, I hear a quick screeching of tires and then bam! I'm hit from behind.

I get out to survey the damage. As I walk to the back of my car, I see the idiot who hit me, his land yacht with broken headlights, shattered grill, and clanking fan. Severe.

With dread, I look at my car. You remember that gas cap with the Mustang logo under plastic window? The plastic had an almost invisible crack in it. That was it.

I just let the obviously-intoxicated punk drive away, dribbling glass and clanking hilariously. I was young and unhurt. And I wanted my chili dog.

Funny the things that vividly stick in memory.

Its a problem when you're trying not to hurt civilians, especially ones that are victims of the regime you're trying to destroy. Personally, I think it's long past time to be passing out weapons to the civilians. They need to start fighting for their liberation.

Well, since it doesn't, and hasn't done shit for decades other than make our lives miserable, I'd say yes.

The US can, and does, function without Congress.

Probably a lot more efficient too.

And likely without the left stirring up shit every day.

He has mean, beady eyes but thinks he's a Ken doll. Probably has the same genitalia as Ken. Thump his head and it's a hollow melon. I blame him. I read Data Republican's note to his cowardly self who passed this at 3am.

When my baby granddaughter has a boom boom I will tell her it smells Thune.

Our Founding Fathers expected them to be part time, which I think is a grand idea. Pay for 4mo and no pay for the rest of the year. In those 4mo they might get something done vs dining and wining on taxpayer money...funding for their next election til they die.
