Here's a clip from Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (Triple D) from 2014
A woman in Ohio made more than 1,700 fraudulent returns at Home Depot locations in multiple states. Medina County prosecutors said Tracy A. James used counterfeit driver’s licenses and aliases to obtain store credit through fraudulent merchandise returns over several years at numerous Home Depot locations. *** Investigators said James’s scheme totaled $266,699 in fraudulent store credit she then used to buy merchandise she later resold online.----- We 29 year-olds have an advantage? Psychology says the hidden advantage older workers have in the age of AI has nothing to do with technology skills. It’s emotional intelligence. AI can generate a perfect email but it cannot read the room, sense the tension, or know when the real conversation is the one nobody is having Have you ever watched a twenty-six-year-old try to figure out why a meeting went sideways when every word spoken in the meeting was perfectly reasonable? I have. I spent decades in workplaces where the official conversation and the actual conversation were two entirely different things, and the ability to tell them apart had nothing to do with intelligence or technical skill. It had to do with years. *** That ability has a name. Psychologists call it emotional intelligence. And in 2026, as AI reshapes nearly every industry on the planet, it turns out that the thing older workers have been quietly accumulating for decades is the one thing the machines can’t replicate.Very interesting article. Definitely check it out. ----- Did she consult Piper? I inherited a storage unit from a family friend. It was full of vintage clothes, which I now sell online. My best friend is Hannah, and her grandpa, Franz, owned a sporting goods store in the '60s, '70s, and '80s. When he went out of business, he boxed up his stock, and the unused items sat in a storage unit from 1990 until 2021. In the summer of 2021, Hannah's mom called my mom, who is an organizer for hoarders, asking for help with the storage unit. She didn't know what to do with the stuff, and knew my mom had experience in that realm. *** It's really hard to put a number on how many items were in the storage unit. It was 10,000 pairs of shoes, 25,000 hats, 2,500 pairs of baseball pants, all in 1,000 square feet, all from a single store. The brands Franz had were Nike, Adidas, Puma, Converse, Playboy, Pony, Champion, Wilson, and more. Teams were covered in the NFL, NBA, NHL, and collegiate sports. *** It was such a large inventory; we weren't sure how to tackle it. It's all been very word-of-mouth. We had our first sale at a flea market in early 2022. We currently sell privately on social media and on our website, which went live in December 2025. On the website, we do 25 items per drop, and do two drops a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. It's first-come, first-served. Not all merchandise is on the website; it's about a tenth of what we have. So we're really selective with the drops because everything is so rare and special.Cool story. Does anyone else think that nearly every bit of information we are told about anything any more is phony unless it comes out of an actual civilian whether it comes from the "left" or "right"? For a few days all we heard was oil crisis. It went up to $110 a barrel and the stocks drop. Trump casually says in an interview that oh, he thinks the war won't go on much longer. Immediately oil drops to $88 a barrel and the stocks jump up. I have never seen this sort of thing before, ever

It just may take eight decades of utter repression and the backing of the world's only remaining free nation.
And what free nation do you expect to be around after the next decade or so? Trump 2.0 is Doing All The Things because his presidency ends this time next year. There will never be another like him, so he is trying to give We The People the most runway he can give us by taking down Venezuela, Iran and possibly China as immediate threats before he leaves the scene. Hi Horde, to your planet...welcome!
I have a car question. I retarded at the end of December, and since then I've barely driven my car at all. Maybe 20 miles, when my weekly commute was 200. I start it up every few days, just to make sure it starts, so far so good. My question is what might happen to the gasoline? I filled up January 2nd and I'm not even down an eighth of a tank. Might the gas coagulate, or turn into delicious candy? Should I do more driving just to make sure stuff circulates? I know next to nothing about cars. I kind of know how to drive and that's much of the extent. Thanks in advance for any and all replies. Posted by: BeckoningChasm at March 10, 2026 10:13 PM (CHHv1) 41

Was watching Atomic Snack Bar a few days ago and ran across this description of a Japanese movie:
Turns out back in World War II, the living heart of the Frankenstein's monster ended up in Japan right before the bomb was dropped. Over time, the radiation caused the heart to mutate into a real boy. A boy that starts rapidly growing into a giant now known as Frankenstein. The creature escapes and ends up battling the giant monster Baragon. And in the alternate ending of the film, he also battles a giant octopus, just like in the original Shelly novel. Frankenstein vs Baragon (1965). Sounds awesome, even without the giant octopus. Posted by: Stephen Price Blair at March 10, 2026 10:31 PM (W/QOq) 99

Also TDS drives some of it. Those of us who don't have it know that Trump 2.0 is very aware of the fact that gasoline prices drive inflation and Affordability™ and he isn't interested in Forever Warz so, like his other blitzkrieg attacks, they are in and out, and he is willing to use many tools as his disposal to bring prices back in line. For Trump, he cares about the consumer, with every president before him, they hated the consumer and thought that was an added sadistic benefit to their war grift. Posted by: BeckoningChasm ------ Yes, gas goes bad. As the lighter fractions evaporate, the gasoline starts to no longer act like gasoline, sorta like a wet cigar - hard to light. As well, the heavier fractions wind up coating parts with "varnish" which blocks smaller passages. There are things called fuel stabilizers which will prevent this. The best-known brand is probably Sta-Bil, but I prefer Pri-G. Oil goes bad, too, just sitting around. Next oil change make sure to go to full synthetic,it takes longer to break down and oxidize. "Their own" is the issue with that sentence. He's "ours," not "theirs," and it chaps their hide.
Most Congress critters aren't there for the power (some absolutely are), many just to be podcasters (Cruz, Crocket), many just want the status and the loot. When Trump came in and said "We Are Going To Do All The Things", at first they thought that he was gas lighting the constituents and would continue the grift with the donor class and the cocktail circuit. Then he did things. Like close the border, instead of mouthing "comprehensive immigration policy". Reshoring jobs as opposed to helping congress critter cronies exploit foreign labor and lax regulations. Trump was cutting into their grift, showing that it was easy to follow through on promises Congress had been making and breaking for generations. He exposed them all as frauds, and now that they are known, they are just open about it and dare you to do something about it, knowing we will whine and not lynch. Pretty much nothing, I have a pimped out M4 Max, I can run my dev setup, I can run a vm of win11 to access the apps that have no mac or linux ports like Autocad*, Visio and MS Project, it runs seamlessly integrated, no hickups, no slowdown, the only ai slop on the mac is injected by the win11 and win apps. I faced the same situation when I retired. You may want to take it out for a long drive (half hour) once a week and try to do some highway miles. Burn off some gas, get it down to 3/4 tank and then fill it up to mix the old and the new gas. Posted by: Joemarine ---- Right. Also it circulates the grease and oils on all the parts that move. (a necessary thing) And things tend to flatten under the same pressure. At once a week your tires will develop a flat spot - a block or two and they will soften up but that's an example. Sacred Harp is the most well known use of shaped note music, where the relative pitch of the note is indicated by its shape. Sounds tricky, but if you know music it’s not hard to pick up at all.
Posted by: Tom Servo at March 10, 2026 10:48 PM (eYxxH) Will have to look it up. In the last 10yrs I had a wish to play the harp...a big one. Now I'm back to a lap harp...which I know has nothing to do with what you are mentioning. We had a harp at our wedding almost 47yrs ago on St. Patrick's Day (the only day of my dude's college spring break...we didn't choose it). Altho Irish is our only common ancestry. The harp was due to it being a botanical garden wedding and a piano could not be played. As it turned out I was glad. So when y'all raise a beer next Tuesday think of the poor man who has been stuck with me all these years. Are you from the South, Tom?
