Pie: A, D, I
On this most impressive military blog, I have a question, because I refuted (and ticked off) the woman who rakes on another blog. She has "sources" or reads crap somewhere and said the fueling plane had been shot down. That Cent Com is lying about what happened. She claims missile. While I guess it could have happened vs the mid air mistake (and my God comfort the six families and may their souls RIP)...she said it's a lie. So I ticked her off as I have not seen this anywhere else and I don't like people's conspiracies. She's opposed to bombing Iran, by the way. We will all soon die of the lack of fuel. She probably hopes for terror cells. She honestly may be mental and thinks she sits in with the President and Sec of War at this point, so it is probably not worth me commenting. I have twice when she's off the rails. Thanks for the ONT and may the wind remain at your back. Posted by: ChristyBlinkyTheGreat at March 14, 2026 10:09 PM (WONhk) 33

Today is March 14th. 3/14. Pi day.
No, it isn't actually. Today is Sorta Kinda Pi Day. First, 3/14 is NOT an approximation of Pi, it is about 0.214. And the Europeans, who use a dot for their numeric dates don't write it "3.14" because that would be dumb. They would write it "14.3." The 22d of July is the proper Pi Day. The date is properly written (in American notation) 22/7. And 22/7 is 3.1428, which is pretty dang close to an approximation of Pi (which has as it's first 5 decimal places [and the ones digit] 3.14159). Do not let lazy date people fool you, Horde! (Also, why would you have this day so close to St Patrick's? Spread it out a little to make sure you have more reasons to celebrate.) Posted by: GWB at March 14, 2026 10:15 PM (RGxCT) 64

There is no more stable relationship than that between the diameter and circumference of a circle. No matter what, it will always be the same, unchanging, always constantly. We refer to this relationship as "pi"

Posted by: Bulg at March 14, 2026 10:38 PM (77rzZ) I used to say the same but something changed in the last year. Family conversions, lack of traditional services and music in some churches I tried (I like tradition and old hymns and not praise music, as that's how I was raised Presbyterian). Many like that form of worship and I don't judge and tried. All I can say is something changed in me as I searched for a deeper faith and found it. It does not hurt that our son and family converted. My husband was Catholic who converted to Presbyterian,so we are going backwards, I guess. Another 47yrs of marriage will be grand! Good books that explain it from a conversion perspective. It made sense when a year ago it didn't. Find God is all I ask. You are loved. Find a denomination where you feel you'd worshipped after leaving, and a peace you can't find anywhere else. This concludes this episode of Christy Becoming Catholic, a surprise for many I know. Posted by: ChristyBlinkyTheGreat at March 14, 2026 10:46 PM (WONhk) 189

There were three Irish triplets born in the small town of Clifden, County Galway. As they grew older, two of them got really big while one stayed kinda puny and small. One night at the local pub, the bartender asked the puny triplet while he was so small while his 2 brothers were so large since they were triplets. "Well", says the wee triplet, "you have to remember that there was three of us being triplets and all. While those two got to suck on Ma, I had to suck on Da."

Long time defenseman partner and friend and I went to a Caps playoff game at the Spectrum one spring. Don't recall how I got the tickets (they were very good, low, $$$$), probably through the Flyers' owner (Snyder the younger, had a connection to him at the time).
Kelly Miller scored sudden death winner with a beautiful backhand shot (everyone can look those up, there must be records of that mostly lost art somewhere lol). Friend and I started to move, rise up, clap - then checked ourselves and sat down. People next to us laughed, they didn't mind. On the way out of the arena, just about going out the door to get a train back to DC, heard a commotion. Looked back - and, not kidding, it was like a cartoon - a guy in a Caps' jersey went running one direction in the main concourse, behind him a swarm of Philly fans in orange. Posted by: javems I assume there is no pattern that's been discovered? Posted by: Harry Vandenburg Nope, pi is still transcendental. Because the Japanese language is made up of a small set of syllables, he assigns them to numbers and makes up stories that have the syllables in the correct order as a way to memorize it. Of course, at 100k syllables, he's memorizing a short novel, instead, so it's still insane. It's an expanded version of a common Japanese mnemonic trick, where they use a subset of their "1" is pronounced "ichi" or "hito", so "hi" and "i" are "1". "2" is "ni" or "futa", so "ni" and "fu" are "2". etc. etc. Posted by: mikeski at March 14, 2026 10:59 PM (VHUov) 233

If something is done from actual measurements, then it might be a happenstance that the measurements in the real world in a single instance are equivalent to the math thesis being dreamed up. My mom's strawberry pie was made by filling an already baked pie shell with fresh strawberries. Then you put in a sauce made by cooking crushed strawberries with sugar and a little cornstarch. You don't need much cornstarch because the crushed strawberries aren't that liquidy. Almost entirely strawberries, rather than glop. It's the fresh strawberries that makes it good.

Which did not alarm me til 2014 and I raised some cain with the big guns from Orlando and was called a Calvinist. I might be wrong, but the only Protestant church to hold the line are the Baptists. I come from a long line of ancestors who rebel. In this case, things changed and I changed with the times. I want traditional service and music and we cannot find it locally. My mother's Presbyterian PCA church remains true to the roots of the Bible. Those that can are designated KC-135R(RT). FWIW Posted by: Martini Farmer at March 14, 2026 11:05 PM (jtM2q) Actually, the "T" designation is for those that have a "dual" fuel system. They can be used to refuel SR-71s, which require a different type of fuel than normal JP-8. The copilot has to be careful with his switches to ensure he's passing gas properly. There are a few KC-135s that are refuellable, but very few used as refuelers themselves. KC-10s are refuellable, and we regularly sent them to haul the cargo for a deployment of fighter jets. They would refuel the fighters, and we would refuel the KC-10. Spent a week in Bodo, Norway helping them get going back over the Atlantic. Posted by: Blanco Basura at March 14, 2026 11:36 PM (+9wcF) All Avantis are real Avantis. He knew you before you were conceived is how much He loves you. He knows the number of hairs on your head. He knows the paths you will take (this may be contrary to Catholic doctrine as I am new, but what I believe as an almost former conservative Presbyterian). I am Biblically sound. The biggest surprise for me is so is the Catholic Mass...in readings. When I was told otherwise my entire life. Posted by: ChristyBlinkyTheGreat --- KT hit on that this morning - as it came - the modern denominations dropped — Loyalty, Authority, and Sanctity — don't just fail to resonate; they actively reject these concerns as immoral. Loyalty to a group shrinks the moral circle; it is the basis of racism and exclusion, they say. Authority is oppression. Sanctity is religious mumbo-jumbo whose only function is to suppress female sexuality and justify homophobia." Progressive Christianity does the same thing theologically. It elevates the care and fairness dimensions of Jesus's teaching above everything else… then treats anyone who draws from the other moral foundations as a Pharisee. The result sounds like pure love. But it's a narrowed moral vision that has quietly set aside half the palette and declared the remaining half to be the whole gospel." Modern education is sadly lacking. The failing lesbian knight video game that was just released has Aeta as the knight in question. The time is 1348, when the Black Death had just started to exterminate up to half of Italy's population. In the game we are told, the tales of Arthur and the Round Table are her inspiration to be a knight. Le Morte d'Arthur was not compiled and published until 1470. So how could a provincial aristocratic girl in Italy know anything of the loose collection of English and French tales of Arthur? Posted by: Anna Puma at March 15, 2026 12:08 AM (2GVsD) 380

65 There is like a hour long video on Boston how it started as a one man band who made the first album of all tracks and instruments but when it came time to actually perform at a venue they had to fill it with other players
Considering how many guitar overdub tracks the Scholz sound required did live Boston require like 3 or 4 guitarists? Not bashing Tom at all, he's right up there with the Beach Boys and the Ramones for creating a signature sound. Problem with that is you can't really ever change it so eventually you run out of variations on it Posted by: Azjaeger at March 15, 2026 12:17 AM (3/XaG) 390
