Yeah, I finally got all my tests and procedures done. I had a colonoscopy a couple weeks ago, along with an endoscopy, and everything came back clean.

I was having bouts of vomiting. Turns out that, due to my diabetes, I have developed this condition called gastroparesis, in which my stomach empties more slowly than normal, thus causing me to vomit if I eat too much. So I have to eat smaller portions, slowly, and chew my food thoroughly when I eat. As long as I do that, I'm good.

Sorry if that's TMI.

But, yes, I'm feeling better overall.

And today I'm going to call my formerly-estranged sister again, since it's her birthday. Wish me luck that the call goes well.

117 Gwen Stefani is persona non grata.

Stefani recently found herself in hot water over her decision to partner with the popular American “prayer and Bible study” app Hallow, which is anti-abortion and counts major Trump donor – and PayPal founder – Peter Thiel among its investors. Its other prominent celebrity backers include two of Hollywood’s most famous Christians, Mark Wahlberg and Chris Pratt.

After Stefani shared a video encouraging her fans to download the app and join its Lent prayer challenge – “Hey everyone, I just got my ashes, and I’m ready for Lent… Check it out. God bless,” she gushed – her more liberally minded followers went into meltdown. “This ‘Maga makeover’ thing is really gross,” one wrote on Instagram, while another said Stefani’s “pandering to the racist rednecks in this country is really disappointing to see.”

You can't blame people for defending their nation against an invasion, especially by a country they have a negative history with. Peter Paul Rubens

The blue sky, dress of the woman and the sheep signs of the end of reign of terror and brighter times ahead? IDK. Anyway -

Wikipedia, in part - "It was painted in Genoa (Saint George is the patron of this city) while Rubens was in Italy to complete his artistic training on behalf of his mentor at the time, Otto van Veen. Many scholars speculate the work was originally commissioned for the Church of Sant'Ambrogio [it], which was dedicated to Saint George. If so, the commissioner never received the masterpiece, due to the artist holding on to his work until he died in 1640, where Felipe IV procured the piece. It is now in the Museo del Prado of Madrid.[1]"

Weird how 2024 was able to stifle it, and in the following year we've got the DOJ Civil Rights Division suing blue states to clean up their voter rolls.

Really, cheating will be part of 2026, just like every election, but just throwing up your hands and shouting "All is lost because of the cheat" after 2024 is silly.

I suspect Dems will take the House, narrowly, but I'd be surprised if they netted a single Senate seat. They're going to lose Maine. They might keep Georgia. There's a solid chance they don't take NC. And if they nominate the radical Muslim in MI, they could lose that.

Remember, the GOP netted 2 Senate seats in 2018. And that year was a D+9 year. This year will be D+4 at the worst.

248 Fun fact: In my book, the legends of western heroes slaying dragons descends from actual prehistoric history.

Giant predatory reptiles called draagyyns (the last of the dinosaurs) were the first invasive species, destroying everything. They were ultimately defeated in a cataclysmic war against the giant panda warrior caste called Xiongmao Zhanshi.

Zhanshi won the war, but paid the ultimate price: none survived. The only pandas left were the runts of the time. Pandas of today are their descendants.

The tale of the defeat of the draagyyns was so heroic and inspiring that it was adapted through time and across cultures. It gave rise to the classic man-against-dragon myth. St George and the dragon. Heracles and the hydra. Etc.
