Schmolls: Trump's Second Term Approval Is Higher Than That of the "Popular" Barack Obama and George Bush Too

From Real Clear Politics:

trumpbushobama.jpg

keytrumpbushobama.jpg

Special Note: Voters claim they want "changes" but the moment someone attempts changes they recoil. They're stupid, in the main. They'll say they want all illegals deported and then when Trump deports the worst of the worst, the killers and rapists and pedophiles, the media runs stories about these nice Maryland Men and then the same people who say they want all aliens deported say "But not like this!"

Again, they're stupid.

I point this out because Trump is making truly momentous changes and those changes should be driving his popularity down very low. The stupid voters, remember. The ones who want "change" without anything actually changing. The ones who demand massive transformations without any controversy or disruption.

The fact that he is maintaining a good-but-not-great approval rating while Fundamentally Transforming the United States is a major feat.

Also: Trump has the highest approval rating from his own party than any president in polling history.

I think the media's actually helping Trump here. They've stopped reporting on positive things he's doing that hurt Democrat World Domination, like the ongoing additional DOGE cuts, the rate of deportation, and things of that nature. LIVs, which include 100% of the people pretending to attack Trump from the right, complain that these things aren't happening because they're not in the media.

John Cornyn is a coward who has refused to support abolishing the filibuster to pass this bill. Now, Fake News reporters and the establishment are trying to destroy me with misinformation.

The truth is clear: No one has been more loyal to Donald Trump than me—fighting the stolen 2020 election, being in Mar-a-Lago when he announced his 2024 campaign, and standing with him in NY in the face of lawfare.

For the good of our country and for the good of passing President Trump's agenda, I am determined to help him get this done.

What's most interesting is that they all trend down almost identically, and even as they go down the "ups and downs" of the curves are very similar.

The graph for Trump and Gay Lightbringer are so similar you can almost map one on top of the other. No, it's not perfect, but it's much closer than I would have expected.

I'm sure someone with more time on their hands can map the ups and downs to routine events at the time. The similarities are too much to be a coincidence.

There was a time when you need a certain je nes sais quoi and expertise to be a movement leader or intellect. Nowadays I’ve never heard so many people say a lot of nothing, add zero value, and don’t even have the brain synapses to carry an intellectual thought process to conclusion. Posted by: ... at March 05, 2026 12:43 PM (Nhyh3)

83 Special Note: Voters claim they want "changes" but the moment someone attempts changes they recoil.

This ultimately shows the power and limitations of FNM propaganda.

People want illegals gone, taxes down, crime down, etc. The FNM can't do much about that.

But they can turn any case where Trump works on that into a scandal. Now to your point people should be smarter then this. But they see a headline or their lefty friend says something and...they make a decision based on that and that alone.

Frankly, representative government only works when most people are engaged and paying attention...

90 "WE KNOW BETTER!"
Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo

And it really is fascinating. It is true across the spectrum of all human interaction it seems.

'You think you want it, but you don't.'

The... elites (not the right word, maybe professionals) in some field believe something to be true. They say this. The customers (whether this be purchasers or voters) say 'Nah, we don't like that.'

Then the pros go ahead and do what they want anyway. Depending on the thing it is either brutally rebuked (in the case of movies, razor blades, beer or games) or it is fought against (in the case of elections here or in Argentina or Poland or Japan.) Or it has enough of a sway to where they really can ignore the will of their supposed customer base.

This is also like a difference between the English vs French model of aristocracy. It always seemed like the english was more egalitarian and more upwardly mobile than the French. It seemed like there was more a commoner could do there. Whereas the French just kept becoming more and more an actual physical and qualitative difference between the people ruling and those ruled. And the French kept going that way until 'betters.'

124 What's most interesting about that graph isn't that Trump is more popular at this point than the two other loathsome limpdicks.

Posted by: Judge Elric The Blade at March 05, 2026 12:40 PM (iFTx/)

Posted by: Bulg at March 05, 2026 12:54 PM (77rzZ)

159 Also: Trump has the highest approval rating from his own party than any president in polling history.

Whose party?

I think it’s a legitimate question whether Trump really is a Republican or not. Here in Texas, we have actual Democrats running in Republican primaries, presumably either to (a) fool the public, or (b) avoid the Democrat Machine (or possibly both). No sane person would say that “their own party” rejected them or censured them or tried to stop them from winning if the Republican Party did officially try to stop them.

Ditto with actual Republicans running a Democrat primary and here even the press would avoid making that mistake.

From the outside looking in, it often seems as though the Republican Party treats Trump the same way.

Best case scenario is, Republican voters stage a revolt much like the NRA’s Revolt at Cincinnati and (hopefully) the more recent NRA revolt, to remake the Party into something new (and something more like it’s founding).

The GOPe cocksuckers used the "big tent theory" name to describe their treachery against the conservative base, opening the tent flaps for leftists and Donk moles while kicking out conservatives.

I have a different idea for a "big tent theory". You're welcome to take shelter in the tent, under the following conditions:

Always vote with the conservative base, under pain of death

Keep your whore mouth shut during campaigns

Never ever engage in sabotage behind the scenes

In return, you can stand with a conservative community that doesn't treat you like a slave, a community that you can trust even if you don't agree on everything, unlike those Donk commie cocksuckers,.

They see another Beto and another flood of out-of-state money and get queasy thinking how close that one election was with Cruz.

Cornyn is a sure thing to win and win big. Trump and others are taking the sure thing over the ideologically better loose cannon (Paxton). Things might have been different if Paxton beat Cornyn on Tuesday. But he didn't.

234 Cornyn is a sure thing to win and win big. Trump and others are taking the sure thing over the ideologically better loose cannon (Paxton). Things might have been different if Paxton beat Cornyn on Tuesday. But he didn't.

I think your analysis is correct.

And to some degree, like Rudy Giuliani, Paxton has himself to blame. The impeachment was not his fault, deciding to unzip and play grab ass was and the fact, like Newt, Paxton already had enemies, he handed those enemies a dagger to do him in.

Heck, the grab em' by the pussy remarks by Trump long before the 2016 election damn near sank his candidacy.

One of the reasons that we get such plastic politicians as only the type that as a group, they are risk averse to the extreme because each public statement, relationship, etc. can be turned into a weapon by their foes. Makes them dishonest too as admitting mistakes often means defeat.

He was head of Senate Campaign Funding from 2009-13. Became Whip from 2012-2018, then was biding opportunity to go for majority leader when McConnell retired. GOTV I think. Cornyn actually denied Paxton from getting a huge total from rural counties and was competitive across the state. Hunt was simply not a factor outside of east Texas but looking at totals, Cornyn did quite well in rural districts and that is why he ended up winning a plurality over Paxton.

I don't think Paxton's campaign was particularly well run and his lack of money (also a campaign fault in fundraising) probably kept him from winning at least the highest total of votes.

For a big state like Texas, you got to be able to raise funds. Cornyn did, Paxton didn't.

360 I remember when Posobiec tried to be clever and confront sawed off chump John Stewart in public. It backfired when Stewart got in his face calling him all the usual stereotypes and caricatures leftists use. Perfect time to be well within your rights to maintain some semblance of dignity as a man and punch Stewart in the face. Posobiec withered like a little bitch. Good thing for Posobiec conservatism sells.

Jame Talarico was born James Dell Causey he changed his name to look better on the ballot.

I was watching movies and such on streaming services. Still had Cornyn ads every 10 minutes. Gaaahh...

363 "The stupid voters, remember. The ones who want "change" without anything actually changing. The ones who demand massive transformations without any controversy or disruption." - ace

Oh come on, ace. Just on Monday Hegseth had to say the war (with Iran) "is not endless". What, 72 hours in? Have more faith in the voters (and commenters, in many cases).

Same situation, but beautiful, and a reminder of how different the country was (including the press): in 1991, a few days after the start of Desert Storm, a senior briefing officer at the DOD podium just held up the front page of that day's paper (Inqy, Post, Daily News, forget which). In huge letters, "War Drags On". He said nothing - the press began to crack up, getting the point all by themselves.

364 , I am saying I won't vote for Cornyn for any fucking reason. Period. I'm done holding my nose to vote for someone.

365 I'm the first to admit that I really don't understand Texas. It's the strangest State in America to me. But from the outside looking in, my simplistic, reductive read on it is this: it is very Republican, and not very conservative. IOW, the strongest bulwark of the GOPe. I suspect this might be because it was so Democrat for so long that the Republicans there had to become liberal to win it over.

I suppose it's possible. They have cast many thousands of votes and only passed 79 laws. Lots of wiggle room there.

369 Having marginally higher approval than soft weak Barry wouldn't be impressive (i.e., a statistical blip) buuuuuuuuuuuuut, there has been a nonstop unhinged decade long media attack on Trump but they couldn't seem to keep Jesus and Obama straight in their coverage. Big W for Drumpth, little Barry leads like he works out in Polish gyms

370 What's most interesting about that graph isn't that Trump is more popular at this point than the two other loathsome limpdicks.

What's most interesting is that they all trend down almost identically, and even as they go down the "ups and downs" of the curves are very similar.

The graph for Trump and Gay Lightbringer are so similar you can almost map one on top of the other. No, it's not perfect, but it's much closer than I would have expected.

I suspect the graphs reflect the pollster's own morale as much as than the populace's views.

371 3 >>>Attorney General Ken Paxton
@KenPaxtonTX
The Save America Act is the most important bill the U.S. Senate could ever pass, and I'm committed to helping President Trump get it done.
I would consider dropping out of this race if Senate Leadership agrees to lift the filibuster and passes the SAVE America Act.

I thought as much.. Wonder what Trump promised Paxton ?

Plenty of important jobs to do in the country, and there will be other elections even for Senate.

373 This is also like a difference between the English vs French model of aristocracy. It always seemed like the english was more egalitarian and more upwardly mobile than the French. It seemed like there was more a commoner could do there. Whereas the French just kept becoming more and more an actual physical and qualitative difference between the people ruling and those ruled. And the French kept going that way until 'betters.'
Posted by: Aetius451AD at March 05, 2026 12:44 PM (bss/y)

The English nobility tended to get knocked on the head or executed in the various civil wars which tended to keep them from fully digging their power in like was possible in France

376 Oh, look...video of Talarico citing the Gospel to support transgenderism:

@Protestia
·
23h
Texas senate hopeful James Talarico uses the gnostic 'Gospel of Thomas' to prove that Jesus was a feminist, offering that men must not be male, but must be female, and vice versa.

------

Oh, the Gospel of Thomas is in Bibles, right?

There is a solid chance that Talarico has the worst performance for a statewide Democrat in like 20 years.

380 I have thought, since Noem was selected as Secretary of DHS that her selection was a Trump mistake. So, I'm not surprised that she is being shuffled off to some no-name, no-budget position. I watched the Noem ad making the internet rounds.........and it is definitely a political ad iMO, paid for by taxpayers, that was made to highlight her brand. Was she thinking that she'd run for President in 2028?
