I think one of the reasons Trump noted he is putting the country in the hands of the Persians is because it will be a monoarcy, and honestly, that is what the country wants. They want the Crown Prince back. I think strategic command at the high levels and comms were destroyed. So the missilers simply popped their missiles off to prevent them from being destroyed without regards for targets. I don't normally like hotdogs that much. However, when pregnant with #1 giant son and trying to eat Mexican food every day, I loved hotdogs with everything.
My husband was in shock for most of my pregnancy, having a 10lb baby on the way...and once having frat boys moo at me. However, my eating habits were wacko.
Food was the first thing he noticed before we knew by a blood test: I was getting up at 0600 after a 3-11 shift to eat breakfast with him before his class. He said, "Something is wrong with you." Indeed. Later hearing me eating Oreos at 0200. Gimme the foods!
I never had morning sickness.

I remember being so upset when they stopped doing that - every week we would be sure to catch that segment so that we could say a prayer for each of the families affected.
I know that wasn't the purpose of them running those lists, but that's what a LOT of conservatives did. The left wanted us to be indignant at what was happening, and instead we all appreciated having specific names to pray for.
I don't think they ever understood that.

It is different. The US Constitution has a mechanism in it to add territory. The UK "Constitution" is whatever constitutes the laws and government at the moment. The Acts of Union really did create a new entity, under the same Crown, but legally speaking one thing went away and another bigger thing took its place. Northern IRL isn't just a new "state" glued on to the UK, it's a whole new kingdom. So their clock gets reset. America wins. Suck it, beans on toast.

I believe that the true foundation of our military might is the American Civilian, who (IIRC) collectively own more rifles than all the world's armies put together, including ours. As much as our own representatives screw us over, we can see that most of the rest of Europe and the Anglosphere has an outright treasonous political class, oppressing their own people as if imperial governors for some hidden foreign conqueror. I believe that our civilian guns put a limit on just how treacherous our leaders can be, which keeps our military aimed outward; there's no point in aiming it at a such a heavily armed populace, since bomber pilots, tank commanders, and generals all have to sleep somewhere.
