![]() Using AI to manipulate photos has unfortunately become the norm in the real estate industry, with realtors using various models to radically transform properties to the point where people just can’t trust what a property really looks like. However, in extreme cases, AI can add some truly bizarre hallucinations that not only make zero sense, but can creep out potential buyers. A Wahington DC property recently went viral on social media because of a rather unique detail – a horrifying flesh monster seemingly crawling out of the bathroom mirror to grab a flower pot on the sink. It’s the kind of thing only a hallucinating AI algorithm could create, but what boggles the mind is how the realtor posted the photo without noticing the nightmarish intruder, As the photo started doing the rounds on social media, the listing, reportedly for a property in Fort Totten, was swiftly taken down from Apartments.com, but by that time, the Internet Archive had already saved a copy of the original post featuring the creepy monster.Yup - asshoe. ----- China is still asshoe, too Bizarre Weight Loss Trend Has People Using Cling Film as Mouth Condoms for Food ![]() There is a new viral weight-loss hack sweeping Chinese social media, and it’s a doozy. Young people are putting plastic wrap over their mouths to prevent any calories from making contact with their bodies. They then pretend to chew the food vigorously through the cling film, before taking the food out and throwing it away. The premise of this bizarre trend is pretty straightforward. The plastic wrap acts as a sort of mouth condom that prevents you from ingesting any calories, while at the same time allowing you to trick your brain into thinking that it is going to receive nutrition. This allegedly helps you feel satiated without actually consuming any caloriesGo ahead - check out the whole thing. I dare you. ----- Staying in east Asia, how about this trend in Japan? The Growing Popularity of Coffin Therapy in Japan ![]() In Japan, a wellness practice known as coffin therapy (aka coffin-lying) has grown from a small funeral home experiment into a national trend. The idea is simple: people lie inside a coffin for a short period of time to reflect on life and mortality. What began in Chiba Prefecture as a unique service has now expanded to spas and workshops across the country. Coffin therapy involves meditating inside a coffin, either open or closed, for about 30 minutes. Supporters say the enclosed space provides quiet and privacy, allowing participants to think about their lives without distractions. While the concept may seem unusual in other countries, it connects to Japan’s long-standing tradition of kuyō, or memorial services, which encourage reflection on the fragility of life and the acceptance of death. *** A Tokyo spa called Meiso Kukan Kanoke-in offers coffin therapy sessions for about $13. Customers can choose between an open or closed coffin and may select calming music, projected visuals, or complete silence. The experience is structured to feel safe and controlled, allowing participants to explore their thoughts without risk.Who among the Horde would do this? from thisdayinmusic.com 1965: Jimmy Page released a solo single called 'She Just Satisfies' in the UK. Thriller broke racial barriers in pop music, enabling Jackson's appearances on MTV and meeting with President Ronald Reagan at the White House. So. I almost adopted a dog today. We were out 4-wheeling in side-by-sides, 7 people in total. Hit the bank of the Gila River, decide the water is too deep, and the bank on the far side too steep to make fording possible. I see a dog on the opposite bank, all alone. We call him, and he wades across the river to us. Long legs, his back never got wet. He was friendly, and very hungry. Had a collar with a name and a phone number. No cell coverage there. So he rides in the back set with me. We get up on a ridge, try the cell again, get through to his owner. "Oh, he's not lost. We were out horseback riding, and he followed along. He likes to roam." We agredd to meet his folks at a helicopter pad a couple of miles back on our trail. Drive there, and wait, and wait, and wait. Finally drop him back off where we picked him up, and left a message.

Greetings, all. I haven't been on here for a few days.
I'm still pissing through a tube, but no longer into a bag, thank all that is good and holy. My bladder has decided that it's had a long enough vacation and will now go back on the job of forcing the piss out, rather than letting it drain out by gravity. However, it still needs to build up some strength before the catheter can come out for good. GAINZZZ!!!!! Now instead of a bag, I've got a plug that I can pull and piss "sorta" normally into a toilet (well, except for the rubber hose and cork coming out the end of my junk). I could probably get away with using a public urinal unnoticed unless the next guy was looking a lot closer than he should. I had two bladder tumors removed. Will have more surgery in probably a month or two to clean up any tumorish stuff that was missed, then proceed based on whether that's completely surgically removable, whether it's grown, etc. (if not, options include chemo, immunotherapy, and removing the bladder completely, which I would obviously prefer to avoid). Sorry if that's TMI. I'm pretty happy about not having a sloshing bag of piss strapped to my leg. Posted by: Rodrigo Borgia at February 26, 2026 10:58 PM (IG3/x) 183

I'ma call bullshit on "Thriller broke racial barriers in pop music". The '50s, '60s and '70s were full of pop music hits by black artists. Ray Charles, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, The Supremes, Jackson 5, and countless others had chart topping hits long before "Thriller". Yeah, "Thriller" was a huge hit album, but wasn't anywhere near the first by a black artist.

Great news for Teresa and Milady Jo! I don't understand why not simply lying in bed or a sofa would be the same as coffin therapy. That and the condom for food are both retarded. Just don't eat, starve yourself, but don't do that in public!GROSS I had an anorexic girl on my adult floor once (I guess peds was full). She bit through her lipid IV tube to avoid calories on my shift (I was not pleased but kind to her as I restarted her IV). She had a 3" thick battered paperback of how much food in calories. After a couple of years as a charge RN, I had seen a lot. But when I walked in on rounds to meet her she took my breath away. A 15yo who looked 90yrs old. I went down to the gift shop and bought a 17 Magazine which I thought more appropriate (at the time not focused on dieting but clothes and make up). Later that week she went into a respiratory arrest and was sent to ICU as she was persistent in no calories at all entering her body. The story was she and her mother decided to diet and she never stopped. I think she ended up in a psych hospital. As usual I was not therapeutic with psych patients...but in my weak defense no one was with this child. Posted by: ChristyBlinkyTheGreat at February 26, 2026 11:25 PM (WONhk) 234

The funeral was online and our son and DIL watched from FL. He said my husband was first in and almost knocked a wreath into the coffin. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at February 26, 2026 11:36 PM (8zz6B) ........................ It's called "Invictus" by an atheist poet. Since the name of God was never mentioned at their weird wedding, He wasn't mentioned at the funeral, either. He married into a Catholic family. The poem is dark. I read it from his obit & blanked out during he entire hideous hour or so we were there. My BIL, whom I am getting back someday, KNEW I did not want to go to the coffin. He put his arm around me & basically dragged me over there with me whisper cussing his doom. I guess people thought I was overcome with grief. I did glance & for reasons never explained there were large Star War figures and, I think, Lego Figures in the coffin with him. He was a 35yr old guy who never worked but one job I am aware of, not heroic. Kind when I saw him but odd. I felt a bit drugged for the event as it was so weird but was stone cold sober. I should have had a dram of Scotch prior but forgot. Our funerals will be a Catholic Mass but with urns. I think that is ok as I am new at this, but cremation is fine and I am glad. To divert from the coffin talk, my day has been different!
I had some benign things whacked and burned off my supermodel face. The derm esthetician went a bit wild, bless her, and seemed to enjoy her job. I did not know to put the numbing cream ALL OVER my face and only did on the small lumps that annoyed me. Well. The cream doesn't work that well to begin with... For 30min I endured a walloping bit of pain all over my face and I'd better look good in two weeks vs like I have chickenpox. I plan to stay inside for days vs scaring people in public. I saw one crazy woman in FL at TJ Maxx who'd had (I figured out) a CO2 laser with seeping wounds under the entire scabbed face. At first I blessed her heart in my mind, thinking she was a brave burn patient. Instead she was from South America on a plastic surgery tour. My husband drove me and said I walked out to find the car in a zombie state. I have a high pain tolerance and woweee it hurt. Took a rare 2hr nap and all will be well. I don't look great at this point but I will soonish. I will never have a CO2 laser, face lift, eyebrow lift,or silicon tire butt lift. If I go through a windshield, yes, I will seek help. I pray for people like Rodrigo, whig, Teresa, etc. This is a nothing burger, but made for a different day than my usual day. My husband said I looked pretty insane and he knows I can handle pain well. I was glad he drove me vs me driving through a shopping mall and making the news. My late father always said he worried he'd get to the Pearly Gates, everything would check out and then St. Peter would say 'one last thing, solve this math problem: Train A leaves Chicago.......'

Who who's buried in Grant's Tomb joke is that people answer "General Grant" when asked who is buried there. Almost no one knows his wife Julia is also interred there. They are not buried.

I once saw a video of a Yemeni, and I couldn't believe my eyes... he appeared physiologically like a modern human, went to Harvard, and became an attorney. He talked (in English!) about struggling to learn about Western niceties like not standing on the rim of the toilet when you pee.
Then the penny dropped. He wasn't really Yemeni. He'd been born there, but he was one of the Jewish slaves the American Jews purchased from their King back in the '70s, and brought here. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at February 27, 2026 12:21 AM (BI5O2) 339
The Avalanche players have full face shields on their helmets
previously it was just a half shield, down to maybe the nose Posted by: Don Black ---- The amateur leagues have required full face shields since around 1978. Every player in the NHL has played with a full.face shield from the first time on the ice until they went into major juniors or pro. It was just a matter of time before common sense overcame macho and inertia. Posted by: buddhaha at February 27, 2026 12:21 AM (qNwbf) 340

I wanted to ask if you had the Mohs surgery, hoped they got it all in spite of the pain, and wanted to know how long the doctor said you would be "restaurant ready"
Dad and an old friend had that, and they both found it not fun. Posted by: Kindltot at February 27, 2026 12:13 AM (rbvCR) Oh, no, honey. I am sadly familiar with MOH's. Four yrs ago I had what I thought was a clogged pore on my nose. Basal cell. The MOH's doc took so much off I needed plastic surgery. Met that doc that afternoon and the next morning he carved me like a pumpkin. It was horrific, my husband took great care of me, and now you can only see the scars if you look for them. I also had an early melanoma 26yrs ago on my shoulder from baking in the sun swimming for most of my life. That was a wide excision and caught early. This was my last hurrah of getting some bumps removed and cosmetic, not cancer.. I figure when they return in 10yrs, surely I won't care at that point! Christy, we buried out grandfather with a post hole digger because he was not the sort to want to spend extra for the funeral home to just dig a hole to fit an urn.
We had so much fun, years later we buried Mom's urn with the same post hole digger. I always get asked, "how did you get the cemetery to give you permission to do that yourselves" and I have to admit that it never occurred to us to ask. Posted by: Kindltot at February 26, 2026 11:39 PM (rbvCR) Dad coached Little League baseball for years. We buried his ashes behind the pitcher's mound on the field he coached. The next Spring the all star team from the field lost to California at the Little League World series, one game away from playing against the foreign champions. We like to think that dad had played a roll in their success. Posted by: Beartooth at February 27, 2026 12:24 AM (ggkmJ) 344
Funerals and memorials are for the living, and the descendants. I’m fine with them doing what they feel they must, but I really don’t care what happens to this carcass once I’m no longer in it.

Oh, and Kindltot... thank you for your kindness. For the MOH's they had me put a 10mg Valium under my tongue, which worked well.
For the facial carving after MOH's I was knocked out on stuff like for a colonoscopy, but not general anesthesia. The cute little esthetician did ask if we were "going out to eat" after the torture. I said no, home. I rarely leave the house without mascara unless the house is on fire. So, no way am I going out to lunch looking like I'd been dragged through a rosebush. So there I was last night, browsing music videos on YouTube, when I found an Arctic Monkeys video's comment section claiming that the drummer Matt Helders (who is quite good) just kind of fell into the role by default, to play with his friends with guitars. So today I looked it up, and it appears to be true!
"Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders at 16 – he left school and spent his savings on a drum kit stored in Alex Turner’s garage" https://tinyurl.com/57en3xb6 So I went looking for an example to link in this post, and I remembered that this one had some really epic drumming: Arctic Monkeys - The View From The Afternoon (Official Video) youtube.com/watch?v=PeQAZsyucbQ So then I'm reading the comments, it's the first song on their first album, perfect, and then I get to this: "@keithmartin7545 4 years ago I worked on the casting for this video and drummer is not model ,but street cast real drummer who was actually reluctant to appear being a musician himself with own band .Thank god for our very persuasive Director ,Wiz and an amazing performance by Adam ." Screw it. I'm not looking for another example for you guys. The business side of the music business is weird, man. Posted by: SciVo at February 27, 2026 12:29 AM (Sy6m/) 350

Posted by: Beartooth at February 27, 2026 12:24 AM (ggkmJ) That's a cool story. I want my urn to be next to my husband's urn. In a drawer. We better not be in two drawers, but that's something to find out this year. At least we have stuff on paper. My grandmother and her widow lady neighbors had their plans down to ever detail. One neighbor lady in the '70's laid herself out in her attire and had someone take a Polaroid. We laughed. We are not going that far. My mother is 95yrs old and I think has it all spelled out for us in detail. We are a non-open casket family, which baffles people and we don't much care!
