It's what a 2018 Yale study found: There is a difference between how white liberals and white conservatives talk when they talk to Black people. And that difference is this: When white liberals talk to Black people, they do something called "presenting lower competence." They literally dumb down their vocabulary, using fewer syllable words than they do when they talk to white people. And white conservatives don't do this. "A new study suggests that white Americans who hold liberal socio-political views use language that makes them appear less competent in an effort to get along with racial minorities," the study found. "According to new research by Cydney Dupree, assistant professor of organizational behavior at Yale SOM, white liberals tend to downplay their own verbal competence in exchanges with racial minorities, compared to how other white Americans act in such exchanges." Researchers found that Democratic candidates use fewer multi-syllable words in speeches delivered to minority audiences than they use in speeches delivered to white audiences--whereas the difference wasn't statistically significant in speeches by Republican candidates. The pattern held over decades of speeches that the researches studied. Hilariously, they found that you have to literally tell a white progressive that a Black person is very smart ahead of time to get them to cut this out: "Initial data from follow-up studies suggest that describing a black person as highly intelligent, thus reversing the stereotype, or as already highly motivated to get along with whites, thus removing the need to prove goodwill, can reduce the likelihood that a white person will downplay their competence in their interactions with the black person." The study proved not just that individual white progressives are racist, but that there is a system-wide failure to view Blacks as equals that is endemic to the progressive movement. Their entire woke worldview, which posits that minorities are oppressed and therein lies their virtue, is in essence racism disguised (from themselves as well as others) in an aura of self-righteousness. After all, what could be more racist than the patronizing view that Black people need to be protected from our big vocabularies?Remember, Gavin Newsom just discovered he's dyslexic and that dyslexia will serve the same function as Joe Biden's Elder-Age Suddenly Discovered Childhood Stutter.

1. Primary numbers never, ever predict general election numbers. It's a relationship that should make sense, but it never actually turns out.
2. Senate races turn turnout into PVI of the state. PVI in TX (no party registration, so going off of previous elections) is something like R+10. No Democrat has a shot. The Biden years killed the D party in TX. Opening the border did that.
3. It's all about the black vote being excited about Crockett. That's it. There aren't nearly enough of them to overcome the PVI of the state in the general.

If you don't like the volatility of individual stocks get into broad market mutual funds.
They are lower risk, generally lower yield, but if you start a disciplined investing routine now and carry it out for say 30-40 years, you should have a substantial nest egg at the end.

I grew up in a rural state where when it was unfashionable, over 50 percent of vehicles sold were pickups. To me they are work trucks necessary for the bad roads and hauling stuff.
So I get bemused when pickups are now the luxury vehicles driven about the suburban landscapes on perfectly good pavement and with empty backends.
And far too many of those drivers have piss poor driving habits derived from learning to drive in much smaller cars or attempts to macho oneself while driving to intimidate other drivers into giving way.

Video looked legit to me. And if you were gonna fake it, you would make it look more heroic. He struggled a bit. Heg looks like a guy in good shape maxing out on his bench press. 315 is serious weight. It won't trouble a powerlifter, but he's a lot of weight even for athletic guys.
My personal best? 335. And I struggled a bit doing it -- like Hegs did. No shame in it.

I can type more accurately as nerve impingement was addressed but returning on nerve function means pain in the most affected right arm and hand right now. Sort of like an extended version of the pain after hitting your funny bone.
We shall see about returning strength but simply having better coordination is a win and reason enough for the surgery. I had to do something to keep it from getting worse.
