Yeah, right... maybe in a swimming pool. Wave action changes things. Changes them into action cameras that no longer charge or transmit data over the cable.
The camera still works, but in a pain-in-the-ass kind of way. So I replaced it and gave the damaged one to my wife, since she uses it way less - that one will be fine for her.
But, of course, then I had to buy a waterproof case for it so that it doesn't happen again next time I go to the beach. And a suction mount and a wireless lavalier mic, because reasons. This is my FWP for the week.

It's a great local seafood restaurant just east of Baltimore. I used to go there a lot when I lived closer. It used to be much smaller. When her first husband went shopping with her at Nordstroms or Neman Marcus, he would take clothing off the rack, then hold it to her to see what the look was. After that he would throw it on the floor to see how it looked there. She would be mortified.

Right after we outsourced the manufacturing to Canada and Mexico.
I had a Chevy Silverado that was nearly unserviceable because of all the fucking weird ass metric and standard sized bolts, screws, fasteners, and every other piece of shit put on that truck.
And because it was a Chevy. Built in late 1990's.
My new one isn't any better and I refuse to work on it too.

1) As Runner said above, after the initial shock wore off, they are the sorest of sore losers. Most of them (and I'm sure all of them by the end of the week) stated that US didn't win, the Canadians lost. After all, didn't their team overwhelm the Americans with their masterful not-leading play for nearly the entire game?
2) A Canadian spectator estimated that in the arena crowd, Canadian fans outnumbered US fans 90% - 10%. HMMV. You can see that in the in the image above in the OP - lots of shrugging reds compared to the cheering Americans.

I'd say both the Canadian NHL team and the American NHL team played 3 periods of very good defensive hockey. The overtime period was anybody's game to win, and the Americans won it. They worked a little harder than the Canadians and it paid off.

And one thing that amuses me, you need to understand how the families in this small German town relate to each other over time but since they are all German actors it is harder to tell them apart. I guess you don't realize how varied Americans look until you see a group of just Germans or just French or whatever.

He wasn't the only American who played well, obviously. But he did play extremely well. That one save he made when he reached behind his back and kept the puck out of the net with his stick was incredible. He also stopped 2 breakaways and turned aside a number of grade A scoring chances.
As great as Hughes' goal was, Hellebuyck was the main reason the US won.

One of the fascinating things about the revolutions that have taken over most western countries is that a handful of armed and trained men could have reversed them relatively easily.
I often come back to the left calling the J6 protests an insurrection. Well, ok, let's run this through. Let's suppose a million armed Trump supporters descend on DC with a plan to work with Trump to stop the progression of the certification of the 2020 election. Then...it stops. And Congress and the SC flee or they do their damn jobs but the one thing that doesn't happen? The certification of the openly stolen 2020 election.
So even here in the US or reaction to an open conspiracy against the country has been to...vote our way out of the problem, not take up arms.

The 3-on-3 actually permits some wide open hockey with emphasis on what makes the sport the best, when it's happening - fluid speed. No holding or stickwork or "checking" (i.e., these days, just hitting, usually from behind, within 3 feet of the boards, boring). Predictable and telling that so many don't like it.
But watching some of the Olympic hockey, very disappointing. Mostly just more NHL, a tiny bit more playmaking on entering the zone, but not much. The 3K extra square feet of the international rink isn't enough to open up the game any more, probably mostly due to the size/athletic ability of players having increased so much.

Went to San Blas twice during Spring break back in college. One of the guys that went with us had a brother living there. This was before it was discovered, just a sleeping fishing village on the Pacific coast.
We hired a guy to take us out a few miles to catch dolphins. We'd give our catch to a restaurant and they would make a meal out of the fish for us.
The beaches were wide and the water was very shallow a long ways out. We would teach local kids how to swim and their parents would feed us fresh shrimp and drinks.
It had a small navy station there and once a week the sailors would parade through town. Very few of the uniforms match.

A GREAT DAY TO BE ALIVE IN THE USA! This was a very nice injection of patriotism apparently to everyone but liberals. I can count on hockey players to probably not be ghey (the men) and love our country. Plus it brought back fond memories of us beating the USSR in 1980 for a pair of newlweds getting up early to watch...and then winning the gold over Finland.
I have read it is going to increase popularity for the sport. I will watch, at any rate.

Yeah harleys are loaded with 1/4 20 screws. Rocker boxes (later bikes), cam covers, primary chain covers, lifter blocks, oil pump, and some other shit. Harley engines up to around 1975 had 1/4 24. Thats a pain in the ass, because you never have them laying around. No 10mm though.

The deepest analysis I have seen is that Scheinbaum is is a hard place, she can either let the cartels finally take the country, which will end with the US rolling in to stop the violence, or she can cooperate with the US and roll up the cartels, which will alienate the leftist elements of Scheinbaum's party. The head of Mexican security is pro US, or at least anti-cartel and seems to be the point that is linking the US and Mexican action here, and the US and Mexican navies have been working together for this year on drug smuggling.
From my reading, the Mexican army and local police have a problem because they can either take bribes from the cartels or be killed, and the Mexican navy may be insulated from that sort of pressure.

The wind here isn't too bad. It comes and goes, but not crazy. The upside its just enough to keep blowing the snow off the lines so it don't build up. I would say we got about 8 inches so far.

I saw stats once on how many MRI machines Canada has vs USA...unreal. Like a CVS, one on almost every corner in most cities here. Plus, if you have a brain tumor you wait many weeks or months for a MRI in Canada. So many patients do cross the border for treatment.
A simple CT scan would have shown the appendix issue before rupture. That and some bloodwork noting elevations, and location of pain in abdomen. Docs should be able to tell as even I could (McBurney's sign).
Glad she's ok vs dead. Here in the US they can do the surgery with a laparoscopy vs open incision if caught early and not ruptured. Scopes make a huge difference in less pain and faster recoveries.

After caring for approx 1000 newborns I can say they are all beautiful. And show personality early on. Some are quiet amongst the insanity of a newborn nursery (which no longer exist for healthy babies who are in the mother's room).
Our newest baby girl is the easiest of her two siblings. And, wow, I won't ever see a great-grandchild! You must have started early!
At 5mo this baby girl of ours has great use of her fingers. Tried to rip her Poppy's moustache off yesterday and loved his stubble and asked him not to shave. She wants everything in her mouth and gives "kisses" which are in reality sloppy tastes due to cutting teeth. She's a doll and we are thrilled to have her in our tribe.

I live by the Bic. Since you like my stories I got a good one for you since you mentioned responsibly managed forests. Most of the guitars I use are gibson, and are made from mahogany. Its called tonewood for a reason. Mahogany necks, mahogany bodies. Gibson in their infinite wisdom decides to come out with what they called the "smartwood" series. Guitars made from alternative wood from managed growth forests. In other words, garbage. We were at a party one time, and my other guitar player, who is to the right of attila the hun was there with me. My other guitar player is quietly hitting on a joint and starting at this dude. My favorite blizzard here will always be the Blizzard of '78! Look it up, it caused paralysis on the east coast. My parents were in Florida, I was home with my big brother (the normal one ) we had pot and booze and we never lost power. Snowdrifts were over 8 feet deep though. We still crawled to the local pub which was open and serving. Such a very fun time.

Bought a Durango from inlaws, found a 9mm deep 1/4 drive socket in the cowling before windshield. No idea why it was there nothing under hood fits that. I've lost one or two 10mm, they're so small.
Wrench sizes don't mention hex keys esp SAE.
Stihl saws have several different bolts but all the same wrench size 19 mm ? Bloody krauts
Daughter was in Puerto V around NYE for wedding, wants to go to Mex City for concert !!! see how bad the pollution is now. used up her luck we tell her.

My favorite blizzard here will always be the Blizzard of '78! Look it up, it caused paralysis on the east coast. My parents were in Florida, I was home with my big brother (the normal one ) we had pot and booze and we never lost power. Snowdrifts were over 8 feet deep though. We still crawled to the local pub which was open and serving. Such a very fun time.

I have lighters everywhere. I usually have a couple 5 packs of bic lighters on hand at any time in my desk drawer. I keep one in my pants pocket, one in my jacket pocket, one on the bench in the garage, one on the bench in the basement, and one in the car. Then I have one in a drawer in the kitchen. Then I have 3 or 4 cigar lighters with the space shuttle engines. I got lighters.
I remember that blizzard of '78. We got clobbered in jersey. It took all day to dig out.

In Ohio, it was 70 mph winds and 12 inches of snow. Huge drifts in the parking lots. Buried autos.

I think we had around 18". We lived on a corner lot, so we ended up digging out of our driveway and then the street across the front of the property to get to the main road. It took 3 of us all day.

Usually, you're safe staying inside til this passes. It's usually cartels sending messages to each other, which I know you know. This seems pretty large scale, though, especially since they just killed one of the big assholes, and now they're evacuating madam cartel, I mean madam presidente.
This has Trump's fingerprints all over it, and I love it, but I've got nieces in PV at the moment, so I feel your pain!

Highest it got by my building was neck-deep, not counting drifts. Some houses were buried in drifts. Don't want to experience anything like that again.

I am thinking of getting the Beastly Honda Trail 125 a friend. Leaning towards a Indian Scout/ Scout 60 or a 2015ish HD Sportster. 883/1200. The smaller displacments are probably a good idea for reasons. Thoughts, opinions, rants? Thanks in advance.

I really tempted fate this winter, by *not* putting on the studded tires. Usually I'm not so lucky, but just didn't make the time for it.
Will "pay" for it when it's time to replace the all-seasons: they're getting worn and will need to be replaced soon. Prolly shoulda got the snowtires on and had the summer ones replaced while those wheels were off the car.
Get to spend hours at the tire shop *anyway* darn it!

Ok, heres the deal. There are nice affordable sportsters out there, but you will outgrow it in weeks. I see it all the time. If you have zero interest in taking any longer rides its not a problem, but the first time you do you're gonna wish you were on a larger bike. I'm talking like 100 mile ride, not across the state. I see nice softails out there for literally not much more than some sportsters. What kind of riding are you looking to do?? Is there any reason you need a smaller displacement?
