Eh. Base assumption should be Democrats "win" it. The House, mainly, but not by much. Gerrymandering and population movements have made the number of actual winnable seats by the other party less than 30, and most will remain in the same party's hands.

And Senate races drive up turnout to presidential levels in the states that have them. It's why the GOP gained two senate seats in 2018 despite the generic ballot being D+9.

It's just...out of power electorates tend to vote more in midterms. No one knows how to reverse it. Obama's team never figured it out.

That being said...the deportations, voter roll cleanup led by the DOJ, and the fed grant pull backs should have some kind of material effect on the results.

It won't be 2002, but a hold of the Senate and a hold of the House would be interesting and within the realm of possibility where Democrats became over-reliant on fed grants for funding and fortification for winning, while both of those things are being attacked from a place of power.

I just wouldn't put money on it.
