Kind of like I prefer landscapes without any people. Just admire the starkness and loneliness of the scene.

57 If you want to see a painter paint random things that are more interesting, check out James Gurney on YouTube.

His main medium is gouache, but he also paints in watercolor and tempora.

Dude will paint a random alley that had more interest than most artists masterworks.

114 Well, the lady can draw straight lines. But it has no soul. The colors are bland, even the sky. The horizon is the same dull blue as one of the buildings. There is no sense of movement or activity and not just because there are no people in the painting. It gives me the same emotional response as a blueprint. If I saw this in a gallery I would pass by in a few seconds.

I'm glad she stuck to industrial or cityscapes. Imagine the horror of her trying to paint a birch tree or a sylvan glade.

If you make a mistake in search terms at Amazon looking for books, you will promptly find a whole subgenre of perverted idiots that would think exactly like that. One time, I was looking for a BBC dvd and used the search term BBC. Needless to say, the results were charmless, obscene, and odious. I think my family banned me from watching Jeopardy with them by the time I was 15 or so. Not because I cheated but because my bullshit powers of guessing were too effective.

If you're going to pick a life skill, offensively effective intuition is a good one, especially for being lazy. I'm one of the only non-engineers in my role and I drive the rest of them batshit by ass-pulling solutions and guessing the correct source of problems.

Perhaps, but a smarter more savy pool of contestants are trying out for Jeopardy now.

After James, there was a succession of contestants that went on really long runs, and then when Jennings took over the reigns, the runs have not been quite as long but the contestant personality quotient has risen.

Also the tournament format controls and prevents massive payouts over the long haul.

I don't know if it was put out by RD or not, but there was an annual World Almanac that I would always try to buy. I especially liked the part about the countries of the world and their flags.

This was in the 70s, when new independent countries would come online virtually every year. So there was pretty much always a new country to read about.
