LOL: Anderson Pooper's Team Rushes to the Media to Claim He Wasn't Pushed Out, He Quit on Prinzibuhls

Do you believe that CBS was all-set to re-sign Anderson Pooper and in fact make him "the face of 60 Minutes"?

Because, garsh, I sure don't.

But that's the story being peddled, to the NY Post of all places.

The semen-pale propagandist claims that he just didn't like Bari Weiss, CBS News' editor in chief, "inserting" herself into editorial decisions.

Anderson Pooper will do all the inserting, thank you very much.

Anderson Cooper's recent decision not to renew his contract with "60 Minutes" came at the last minute and left execs at the struggling network flat-footed, a source with knowledge of the matter told The Post on Wednesday.

LOL. I imagine they made him a deliberately-insulting offer to induce him to turn them down.

The journo had been poised to become the face of "60 Minutes" under CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss and president Tom Cibrowski, who privately lauded him as an important player at the struggling news network.

Sure sure sure. Who wouldn't want an old, cum-colored no-ratings hack from soon-to-be-bankrupt CNN as the face of your top news magazine?

But Cooper's decision to pull out came as the deal was in its final tages, the source said.

And it's well known that he rarely pulls out.

"They must be pissed," the person said of Weiss and Cibrowski, who'd seen the CNN anchor as a prominent face of "60 Minutes."

For some reason I hear "They must be pissed" in Anderson Pooper's voice.

"They wanted to build the show around him," the source added.

Uh-huh.

The article says that Pooper wants to spend more time "with his two young sons."

Both CBS News and a rep for Cooper declined to comment.

[S]ources said a series of recent decisions by Weiss were what prompted Cooper to end his nearly 20-year run at "60 Minutes."

Those include her revamp of "60 Minutes," which will likely include pushing out veteran correspondents like Scott Pelley and Sharyn Alfonsi, as previously reported by The Post.

Sources also pointed to Weiss' unwillingness to fire wellness contributor Peter Attia over his chummy, eyebrow-raising emails with late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Recently surfaced emails showed Attia telling Epstein the "biggest problem [about] becoming friends" with him was having to keep quiet about his "outrageous lifestyle" -- in an exchange with the chilling subject line, "Got a fresh shipment."

Raise your hand if you believe that Anderson Pooper is scandalized by an "outrageous lifestyle" or even having sex with underaged people. Now take that hand and slap yourself in the back of the head, you big dummy.

Sources also pointed to Weiss' involvement in the journalism and management of "60 Minutes," which long operated in a silo under its executive producer.

"He doesn't like that she has inserted herself," a CBS source said of Cooper, pointing to Weiss' recent editorial scrutiny of his "60 Minutes" piece on the Trump administration's decision to accept refugees from South Africa.

I have a rule that helps me tell when people are lying: People who tell the truth will tell one story. Similarly, they will also usually offer one, or at most, two reasons for a decision they're making, and stick to those.

When people are lying, they start spamming out a bunch of reasons for a decision because they don't trust their own lie. They don't have the confidence to go with just one dishonest reason, because most liars feel they're on shaky ground when lying, and they're afraid that if they put all their eggs in one basket, that one basket will be interrogated and proven false and then they'll be exposed as a liar. So instead they start flooding the filed with a bunch of different lies, feeling safe that if any of those lies is disproven, they still have five more to fall back on.

So no, I don't believe Anderson Pooper's Aerial Chaff of lies to explain his departure. I believe they either told him they would not renew, or made an embarrassingly low fake offer, and told him "We'll let you say this was all your idea."

I briefly mentioned this in quick hits, but here's a longer article: Jake Tapper is very, very mad that CNN brass have curtailed "journalists'" ability to self-promote, both on their own shows as well as in their social media because they were embarrassed by Tapper turning his show (and Twitter feed) into a never-ending infomercial for his Biden Cover-Up book. (The other article was at the Satanic Daily Beast so I didn't want to link it.)

CNN anchor Jake Tapper is said to be fuming over a new company policy that sharply restricts how on-air talent can promote their own books.

Tapper, who hosts "The Lead" and co-anchors "State of the Union" at the Warner Bros. Discovery--owned network, is "very, very unhappy" with a directive from CNN chief Mark Thompson that prohibits anchors from promoting books beyond publication day, a network journalist told Breaker Media.

The veteran political anchor, who has authored eight books, most recently co-writing a bestseller about President Joe Biden's decline and his disastrous decision to seek reelection, used his CNN platform extensively to promote the title -- a rollout that some colleagues internally described as turning the network into a "rolling infomercial," according to Breaker.

On Feb. 4, CNN updated its standards guide in what Breaker reported was a direct response to Tapper's on-air promotion.

The revised policy states: "We should not mix news and advertising, even when what is being advertised is work by a leading CNN journalist."

Under the new guidelines, anchors may acknowledge publication of a book on its release date if integrated into a journalistic segment -- but they "should not promote it following publication day on their own program."

The policy also bars the use of websites, QR codes or links to drive personal sales and requires CNN authors to meet with members of the executive leadership team to approve any rollout plan tied to CNN platforms.

In addition, all book-related promotion must be reviewed and approved by CNN PR, and no third parties beyond a publisher may be contracted without approval from the head of CNN PR, according to the policy reviewed by Breaker.

Tensions had already been simmering inside the newsroom.

Breaker previously reported that staffers questioned the decision to air anonymously sourced claims from Tapper's book, arguing that limited internal fact-checking of outside works put CNN in an awkward position.

I like that this sissy did what girls do and got a group of his Beties together to issue a joint complaint to management. Possibly Anderson Pooper was part of his Girl-Squad.

14 That rule about promoting your own books is kinda like every rule in every HR department everywhere. You're not allowed to use company time to promote (or even work on) some other work scheme. EVERYWHERE I've ever worked had it. Also, every place I've ever worked would have wanted a cut of the revenues, since it related to my work (you know this book did) and all my work products are to some extent theirs while I work for them. I think CNN is letting them off easy.

53 Our tiny little chihuahua mix dog has always been an avid TV viewer; she used to climb up in my husband's lap to watch football, and would hurl herself at the screen during nature shows, or any program featuring large animals, to bark and growl over what was in the family room at the moment.
A few years back there was a car commercial, with fey bell-like music a la Harry Potter theme, and a pack of white wolves following a car at night in snow.
The dog went nuts, and would come running from other rooms if she heard the music.
Not long after that, my husband had CNN on while he was working from home, and Anderson Cooper came on.
The dog sat up and growled at the TV.
She did this more than once, and we couldn't figure it out, until we guessed she thought he was one of the white wolves from the commercial.

Piper, she is a hoot. Funniest thing she ever did with the TV was attack during a news segment on an orangutan that had escaped from an Asian zoo, and was swinging through the downtown of a major city on the power lines.

She was on her hind legs barking furiously, with her front paws scrabbling at the screen, then, when the ape swung out of camera range, she bolted to the side window of the room and kept barking, looking to see where it went.

She is 12 now, and still protects me from onscreen animals, including some cartoon ones.

130 Ace...I could be reading this entirely wrong, but I get the impression you don't like Pooper Cooper nor Jake Tappedout very much.

The mystery with Cooper, for me, is his mother being Gloria Vanderbuilt (RIP? Don't know!).Another tie to the elite. A strange painting in a photo of her reading to her little tykes. Then he swishes in ghey, possibly from his upbringing. Many gheys, so I read, were abused as children, however, love is love.

There was a Podesta painting in the past...of sad children in the Vanderbuilt pool. Looking sad or drugged, with red shoes and red behinds and shame. Rope noose things on the pool and a retractable ladder. Creepy painting at Podesta's, and it was said to be the Vanderbuilt dungeon pool.

https://tinyurl.com/48xrjd9w

I don't like indoor pools as a swimmer. However, this one is very creepy. A lot of Biltmore has a rather dark feeling, so I read.

I guess there must be some negative selection going on, where people willing to do that shit, and willing to abuse others when they get in, gravitate toward the institution.

I have been surrounded by a wolf pack on 2-3 occasions, while archery hunting elk. At 4-5am, on a pitch black morning it is a very scary scene to have 3-4 wolves within 5-10 feet of you, with others circling.

240 The bears in Japan are brown bears, essentially the equivalent of our grizzlies. There are fewer and fewer hunters in Hokkaido and northern Honshu to keep the ursine population under control. Maybe the Japanese Government should organize hunts for foreign sportsmen?
Posted by: mrp

They are sun bears. (or moon bears I think they call them but not sure if that is distinct species.)

They had a bad couple years for acorns and that was the main problem. When one is spotted, they have hunters go and try to take them out. It is special clubs of shooters but there were just too many and they attacked with no warning.

This is the site I use to keep track

245 53 Our tiny little chihuahua mix dog has always been an avid TV viewer; she used to climb up in my husband's lap to watch football, and would hurl herself at the screen during nature shows, or any program featuring large animals, to bark and growl over what was in the family room at the moment.
Same long pointy face, almond eyes, and white hair.

We hiked it into the woods in a couple of surplus duffle bags to where he had a couple of tree stands. After dumping them out, he sniffed the air and urgently told me to get up in the stand and stay silent. The Griz spiraled in sniffing around, I'm SURE that he knew we were around, but never looked up.

Eventually he just sat down on that 4 ft pile of pastry and started feasting about 20 ft below us. Crapped all over the pile as well, and just ate that too. When it was all done, he just ambled away, content.

Last Thursday, The Atlantic published a heart-wrenching story about an 11-month-old child who died of measles. Written in the second person from the perspective of a mother whose two unvaccinated children fell ill with the disease, the story is rich with personal detail;

"You plant her on the couch with a blanket and put Bluey on the TV while she drifts in and out of sleep..."

"While the kids are napping, you tap a list of your daughter’s symptoms into Google and find a slew of diseases that more or less match up..."

"Her cough wracks her whole body, rounding her delicate bird shoulders. She does not sleep well. And as you lift up her pajama top to check her rash one morning, you see that her breathing is labored, shadows pooling between her ribs when she sucks in air."

Turns out, NONE OF THAT HAPPENED. The Atlantic's Elizabeth Bruenig simply made it up, leading to mass confusion.

311 Garrett: 292 >>magine going against a polar bear with a 22? Yikes. Might as well try and fight one off with an Icicle.

You can hit a human being in the shoulder with a .22 long and it will tumble through his heart and a kidney.

My rumored lethal encounter with a big cat involved my Walther P22 with CCI hp. Didn't find him until much later the next day ( nighttime encounter) but he was very much dead. He traveled about 300 yards uphill before he expired.

I'm not telling you what you don't already know...but punching through Cat Hide and Bear Hide are two different scenarios.

315 The amount of aggression these animals display depends on how full their bellies are at the time.

Springtime for grizzlies? You're on the menu.
We've trained wolves to eat easy pickings, gut piles, so that's the first thing they go for. They gut the elk and generally leave a considerable portion of the carcass to the grizz and birds.

He survived. Had countless surgeries and has to wear a mask to cover 2/3 of his face.

There's a reason boar hunting involved long spears with a cross bar near the point...they'd run right up a spear and gut you without one. the cross bar made it harder for them to do it

318 So when I first smelled bear on a bike ride in Japan, it just smelled like skunk and nothing odd about that in the woods, but I just knew it wasn't skunk. I had never smelled bear before but I was on "bear mountain" (kuma yama) and passing bear scat every couple miles so I just knew. It was on an uphill hairpin and I have to go slow (This is also the spot where the borseflys catch me if it is above about 40C and I hate that turn. Nothing motivates up a hard hill like horseflys and skeeters.)

I went home and researched, but no one in Japan says that bears smell like skunk. There are no skunks in Japan so how would they know? I never thought to look in English, (Do all species smell the same?) so I never had confirmation until garret just said so above.

Everytime since though I tense up when I smell them -- you are very sensitive to odor on a bike (or M/C) and it always seems to be when I am going uphill.

Musk is a more general term for the very strong unpleasant marking odors a lot of animals have.
