Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 2/5/26![]() Good morning kids. As the spouse is going into hospital this morning for a scheduled surgical procedure, I'll have to keep it short and sweet (if you could call it that). . . The assault on the rule of law and the fomenting and leveraging of violence and terrorism for political gain by the Democrat Party and its base and operatives in and out of government continues with the epicenter now in Minneapolis and likely to metastasize into a firestorm that will sweep the nation, especially as warmer weather approaches and especially the midterm election push gets into full swing. As history dictates, and should be obvious there can be no parlaying with an intractable enemy that seeks our destruction. And instead of marshaling every possible uniformed agent we can to utterly crush what can only be now described as an armed insurgency and insurrection that seeks not only the prevention of enforcement of federal immigration law but in point of fact, the effective overthrow of the federal government. And yet President Trump has decided that he needs to make concessions to those that if given half the chance would string him up on a lamp post. I mean that quite literally. Negotiating with terrorists, whether Islamic in Iran or Gaza, or Marxist/Islamic in America, doesn’t bring peace, it shows weakness and then the terrorism never ends and neither do the negotiations. Ceding on ICE won’t buy peace. And it won’t even change the topic or end the violence. There are very good arguments for why this administration should make domestic kitchen table economics its larger focus. If it doesn’t do that, the midterm situation may be catastrophic. But it can do that and fulfill core responsibilities like national defense. Immigration was a major reason, perhaps the biggest reason that Trump is here, because it embodies national survival. We can and should kick the can down the road on some global issues which have been too much the focus lately, but this is a primal issue which is why the Democrats have gone to the mattresses on it and why retreating on it would be a mistake. Illegal aliens are the political power behind the ghost districts that Dems use to rig elections and maintain outsized political influence. That’s why it’s the one battle they can’t afford to lose. The theft of the 2020 election, and everything that made the theft possible primarily both the Fauci/Chi-Com biowarfare, lockdowns, erasure of the most basic election voting integrity measures, and the George Floyd race riots that resulted from it and the J-6 Pelosi/Deep State-engineered J-6 fake "insurrection" put a giant sucking wound into the heart of whatever remains of our Republic as it is, but what we are witnessing here and now really is for all the marbles. They know it, and are surely acting like it and we better start doing the same right now, or else I fear that we are a dead nation walking . . . mostly right off a cliff. Have a great day. And lastly, a quick shout-out and a huge thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

The Democrat demands have already sparked opposition from Republicans. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) has already declared that requiring judicial warrants, rather than administrative warrants, for immigration enforcement actions is dead on arrival. “That is a road that we cannot or should not go down,” Johnson said.
The Immigration Act of 96 (Billy BJ Clinton) explicitly moves most "expedited removal" cases out criminal and civil courts as almost any Immigration Agent has the authority to ask for the illegal alien to be returned to their home country. I'm not sure what to think about the situation with illegals and immigration enforcement. On the one hand I think Trump dislikes bad press, so he'd do whatever to keep that to a minimum. On the other hand I don't think he'd completely stop the repatriation efforts.
I could see where Minneapolis might have really gone south and created a huge problem for the administration. But, I also think the various media outlets are parsing what they're telling the public about what is, and what isn't the situation in MN. I think ICE is still there, will continue to be there and will continue to round up illegals there. Maybe without all the fanfare. Bigger issue continues to be the judiciary and their horseshit. Once McConnell is dead or incapacitated - not retired, but completely out of the picture - we'll get to see what the new era of GOP grift looks like, as Thune will be free to execute on his vision of treacherous cuckoldry.
I'm mildly optimistic about it. The Southern wing of the GOP is not going to be as easy to control for him as it was for McConnell and Barbour, so they will stymie him occasionally, and force him to spread his bribes thinner. And as bad as McConnell was, he was highly effective during his intermittent stints as America's most powerful Democrat. I don't think Thune has the brains or the influence to deliver for the Dems like he could. I think the Dems will be weaker in the Thune regnancy, with less ability to determine events. “In November of ’21,” he testified, “the head of the GBI, Vic Reynolds, called me — it’s a matter of record. He told me, ‘We’re not going to investigate. The governor wants me to tell you why we’re not going to investigate.’ I said, ‘Please do.’ Because back in May, he had seen the evidence — video footage, cell phone records, testimony, bank data — all consistent with ballot harvesting. He told me himself it was compelling to be investigated. That was in May of 2021.”
Perdue paused before revealing the rest. “Then, in November, he calls and says, ‘We’re not going to investigate because…I’m a team player. If the governor doesn’t want to investigate, we’re not going to investigate.’” Posted by: SMOD at February 05, 2026 07:28 AM (6mlHc) 33

If you watch Trump for any length of time, you'll notice he often picks an unexpected or unpredictable path. I am not talking about 10D space chess, I am talking about merely doing what they don't think you will ever do.
Until you realize that his enemies carefully game these scenarios out before implementing them, and have at their disposal a raft of data, psychological and otherwise, that they use to strike at Trump and therefore us, you are not fit to try to figure out what he might be up to. They want and need him to do certain things and sometimes he will pick an escape route they thought they had blocked off. It's what he does, and it's how he keeps us and our movement in front of them instead of falling way behind. It is nowhere near a fair fight, Trump just makes it look like one. Mist of the time people would feel some but if sorrow for people losing their jobs. It was only a wee bit for former WAPO employees.
However after reading their posts on various social media platforms I'm actively hoping, that like Vietnamese monks , they immolate themselves on the front steps of the WAPO Posted by: Smell the Glove at February 05, 2026 08:05 AM (BWnHZ) 82

I respect the Golden Rule, and because we come from completely different world views, I'm willing to show respect and deference to their perspective in this case. I will grant them the same level of concern for their newly discover Funemployment as they showed to coal miners who lost their jobs, and those who refused to get the mRNA Kill Shot. Posted by: Smell the Glove at February 05, 2026 08:05 AM (BWnHZ) ==== What else are these people good for? They have zero actual needed skills, aptitude, or attitude necessary for productive employment. Will they suffer? Yes. And that is ok. They deserve it. You can pickup printing presses for free nowadays. All you have to do is haul them off. At one time, a journalist could go get themselves a press and start a newspaper. If people liked it, it was successful. Posted by: fd at February 05, 2026 08:08 AM (vFG9F) 91
Letitia James is going to be training "legal observers" to chase and harass fed cops.
Elementary school teachers will have as part of the curriculum to instill anti-fed sloganry into the ranks of six-year-olds. FUCK ICE signage will be everywhere for everyone to see. Teens will have it on their backpacks. Posted by: M. Gaga at February 05, 2026 08:08 AM (KiBMU) 92
