Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | CNN: The Flight From Blue States Will Net Republicans +7 House Seats and +7 Electoral College Votes in 2032; Even if Democrats Win All Three "Blue Wall" States, They'll Lose the PresidencyUnfortunately, the census won't be taken until 2030 and reapportionment won't happen until the following election in 2032. It's something, I guess."The lowest domestic net migration this decade -- all five of the states that were won by Kamala Harris in 2024," Enten noted. "Look at this: California, Harris' home state; New York, where I'm coming from right now; of course, Illinois, New Jersey, and of course the great Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which is a bastion of blue liberalism." These, he emphasized, "are the states that folks in the United States are moving away from and into the red states, which is propelling a red state boom." If that wasn't enough bad news for the Democrats, Enten turned to the political fallout. "Now, this is interesting, right? But it could also have major political ramifications if it holds for 2030, the next census," he warned. "If, in fact, the 2025 population shifts hold for the 2030 census, look at this. Look at the House seat shifts by state." Then he delivered the line that surely made Democratic strategists choke on their avocado toast. "If, in fact, the 2025 population shifts hold for 2030, states that Kamala Harris won, they would lose. They would lose seven seats in the United States House of Representatives. The states that Donald Trump won in 2024, they would gain; they would gain seven seats." When you think about how close the House of Representatives is now, you know this is a huge deal. That CNN is admitting all of this is also quite significant. But Enten wasn't done rubbing salt in the wound. The shift doesn't just hit Congress; it impacts the entire Electoral College. "Because the number of electoral votes that each state gets is equal to the number of senators, plus the number of House seats," he said. "If you remember back in 2024, right, it was all about the blue wall... If Kamala Harris could win the baseline Democratic states and then add in the blue wall states of Michigan, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, she would get to 270 electoral votes." Then came the bomb: "If all of a sudden, we, in fact, have applying the 2025 estimates, the population estimates to the Electoral College, the blue states, plus the blue wall of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin would no longer be enough," Enten said flatly. "Under the current estimates, you get to exactly 270 electoral votes, the minimum needed to win the Electoral College. If, in fact, you apply the 2025 estimates, look at that -- you would only get to 263 electoral votes if you were a Democrat, which would mean a Republican victory."
In a brief video clip that resurfaced on Saturday and quickly went viral, Boston's far-left Mayor Michelle Wu summed up what no doubt many of her fellow leftists take to be axiomatically true. If it even came close to being implemented, it would destroy the United States utterly, but after all, what do leftists care about preserving what they think of as a racist, imperialist entity existing on stolen land? And so as far as they're concerned, the destruction of the nation wouldn't be a bug, but a feature. In the clip, which actually dates from March 2025 but which Mass Daily News reposted on X Saturday, quickly racking up nearly five million views, Wu says simply: "Every single human being has the legal right to come to the United States and seek shelter." Unfortunately, the census won't be taken until 2030 and reapportionment won't happen until the following election in 2032.
====== I think the estimate is way off. I think it could be a net of 30 seats. The Census Bureau admitted to failures that already moved 6 seats in the 2020 census. Those were errors based on their own models of populations (not counts). Correcting that will probably net the 7 mentioned on its own, if not more. And then...the Great Migration hasn't stopped. It slowed after 2021, but it's kept going. Even with TX being one of the epicenters of deportations, the seats TX won't gain because of it (assuming illegals are even counted) will end up going to the next in line red states like TN and SC. And then...illegals might not be counted. But even if they are...potentially 6 straight years of hard deportations. At least 4 of them. I do think it could be 30. Imagine trying to win the 2032 presidential election as a Democrat then...after Kamala lost again in 2028 and people want the black caucus to have less of a say in nominations. And yet, there is nearly no discussion of this last big, disruptive migration that's currently unwinding. The average American probably has no clue about the scale of this thing. Wu is a poisonous leftist, but she is not dumb. She did not say everyone in the world "has a 'legal right' to be in the United States," as Gunther is reporting she said.
Her actual quote is less provocative and incendiary, which is why it's being paraphrased and not quoted directly. Here is what she actually said: "Every human being has the legal right to come to the USA and seek asylum or shelter and …" See the omission of the "seek" modifier? She's technically correct, that anyone can come and "seek" asylum. Doesn't mean they are legally entitled to it. I'd also like to see what she said after the "and" -- the video cuts off. I suspect what comes after the video cuts off further limits what she's saying. Posted by: Judge Elric The Blade at February 03, 2026 01:39 PM (iFTx/) 78

The Romans and Byzantines continued to refer to their government as a "republic" even when it was clearly a monarchy. The term referred to a government that was concerned with the welfare of the people as a whole, and not the enrichment of whomever was head of state. While a literal dumpster fire goes off in the background, the antifa member says, “he’s filming people’s faces!” “I’ve done a lot more than you have,” Stancil says. “Jackass.” “He’s filming people’s faces!” the antifa person says again, as though it’s a crime. “OH NO!” Stancil exclaims sardonically, before the hammer of anarchy rains down upon his head. Fellow disruptors have been wary of Stancil’s recent choice to allow journalists to embed with him while he drives around the Twin Cities in his Honda Fit, looking for ICE operations to monitor. Stancil has been suffering from a touch of Main Character Syndrome while out protesting ICE in Minneapolis, but no one can doubt his sincerity. His numerous online opponents have garnered a sort of respect for his annoyingly tenacious nature. Posted by: The ARC of History! at February 03, 2026 01:51 PM (n1OCj) 155

This is called the Curley Effect, which I think most of us know about.
The bit that I think is overlooked is that there is a feedback loop. These cities (states) that push out the productive classes also switch their policies to pander to the non-productive classes -- the gov. employees, social services, people on benefits, NGOs, etc. It made sense in the 19th C. for cities to keep policies that kept their industrial base taxpayers happy. And now it makes sense for them to push for policies that make their parasite classes happy. The difference is that the parasite classes only exist because of cash from the Fed. We look at the Minnesota Somalians with horror - not working, thieving, low IQ, invaders. Minnesota politicians look at them as cash cows for federally funded programs. Teachers look at them as justification for doubling the number of Special Needs programs, Lawyers look at them as clients,.... This is universal and the root of the problem. Politicians around the world are not replacing the "workers" to fund SSI, they are replacing their voters and taxpayers with a serf class that gets them money from the other jurisdictions.
One of the things that has been happening over the decades is that central cities have gone from having most of the population of a metro area to being a small fraction of the metro area. Portland is 25% of the Portland metro, and Minneapolis is 15% of the Twin Cities metro. This results in the Leftist loons getting concentrated in the central city, where they can push policies that would never be tolerated by the larger metro area. They do good on IQ tests because their language trains the mind to be good at recognizing and manipulating geometric images, which is how most IQ tests work to avoid being biased based on language. They do good in school because they have (HAVE) to study hard to learn those essential 2-4 thousand Chinese characters. It is rigorous from about 8-16yo (or so) and requires diligence, study, memorization, ... so they become good at that. Many are highly trained idiots. Not intelligent at all. Ruling which the SCOTUS said, basically, this is unconstitutional b/c Congress has to pass a law on it. 1) overturns Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona (ITCA), Inc. (2013), where the Supreme Court held (7-2) that the NVRA preempts state laws requiring proof of citizenship beyond the federal registration form's sworn attestation. The Court ruled that Congress intended the federal form (which only requires a self-certification of citizenship under penalty of perjury) to be sufficient, and states cannot add extra requirements without federal approval. 2) expands Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute (201 Posted by: People's Hippo Voice at February 03, 2026 02:14 PM (HXT0k) 293
3) private lawsuits to enforce the Act, overturns precedents requiring "concrete and particularized" injury (e.g., Lujan v. Defenders of Wildlife (1992) and TransUnion LLC v. Ramirez (2021)).

Remigration only happens if the Islamists decide on their own to leave. Only if Britain demands muslims adhere to Brit culture, will they leave. Instead, we see muslims demanding Brits accept muslim culture, and they are winning. Posted by: Huck Follywood a ------------------ It is very hard to incentivize an unwanted population to leave. In my experience, Asians are generally less creative -- which is why they are continually stealing our Intellectual Properties.
Posted by: ShainS at February 03, 2026 02:28 PM (TZq7Y) Not less creative, more conformist. Seniority, status based on hierarchy and precedence are valued ahead of novelty and innovation. Posted by: Kindltot at February 03, 2026 02:36 PM (rbvCR) 390
It was the 3/5 compromise that gave slave owners extra power for their slaves.
Posted by: Oldcat I would just like to remind everyone that the free states didn't want slaves counted in the population at all. Which is what necessitated a compromise in the first place. Posted by: FeatherBlade at February 03, 2026 02:38 PM (a+4eV) 391

Posted by: Kindltot This is very true. I want to clarify the above - I did not mean that all Asians are highly trained idiots, only that it is easier for an idiot to rise to success in academics than in other places. Generally, I think Asians are much like Westerners in their variability. They also tend to have an "inner independence" that makes many of them very creative, it is just harder for them to assert their ideas up the heirarchy. 125 91 This population analysis seems to assume that the people fleeing from blue states to red states will not change the voting patterns in the red states. That hasn't worked out to well in Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington — states that have many ex-Californians. Same can be said for New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine with respect to people entering from Boston and New York City.
I'm not so sure the red states will remain red states after the blue migration occurs. Posted by: Ralph at February 03, 2026 01:41 PM (8WZD4) ====== Colorado, Oregon, and Washington are all the 90s. And AZ lurched to the right from 2020 to 2024. The Great Migration that started in 2020 is materially different from what happened with CA exporting its population in the 90s. And if you don't take that into account, your analysis is silly and unserious.
