Not exactly. He was issued a permit by the State of Minnesota. Its requited to be on one's person when one carries in that state. He didn't have that on him. So matter what we think of Minnesota's gun laws and the constitutionality of requiring a permit, its not accurate to assert he was "lawfully carrying".

But they are equivocating on "concealed carry" because Pretti did nothing according to the rules of "concealed carry". In other words, he was the same as a gangbanger with a piece and not a citizen with a permit.
As I pointed out above, just the idea that you are not to touch your gun in the presence of an officer, indicates that you can't just do what you want because you're not actually trying to kill them, as taking your gun out would not be.
They are trying to make this out as badly trained, when what they are really saying is that these guys are not reacting perfectly enough to people when they feel like obstructing and resisting arrest.

In the mostly widely seen video, one officer pushes someone (presumably "the woman" but who knows) and Pretti steps in between them very close to the officer. Then he gets dogpiled. What exactly happens after that is what is in dispute.

Yeah, I don't see why an extreme disregard for the life of others isn't worth punishing as much as "hate".
If you've committed more than one murder, you're a pretty hateful person by definition.
But "hate crimes" are a way the lefty/Dems had of making sure that while they were generally soft on crime, the crimes they didn't like were the most punished.

Not really. Stock 17 round mags from the factory and 2 reloads. That's only 51 rounds plus one in the chamber.
That is the standard number on my belt when I go into town (just I carry .45ACP not 9mm). If I am going to a larger city I add two more reloads.
