As I've said before, rich men buy papers for three reasons. The worst reason is to make money. Papers don't make money. But they'd like to lose as little as possible. The Post is losing lots of money. Bezos' money.

They also buy papers for prestige. But the Washington Post has no prestige. It's a woke clown show. It brings shame, like David French's browser history.

The third reason is that rich men think they know something and they want to spread their ideology. Bezos is trying to do that, trying re-orient the paper to be pro-free-markets, for example, but the bratty employees think Bezos should pay them to push their ideology.

That's not how this works. As they say, he who pays the piper calls the tune.

Carson doesn't but best viewed by YT clips of specific interviews. Craig Ferguson is almost universally hilarious if you like his style of comedy which is absurdist and close to Robin Williams. The couple of clips with Robin Williams and Craig playing off each other are literally two guys firing off one liners so fast that you can't catch up.

Letterman clips are okay if you go for the music performance clips. Some really good clips of musical artists performing on that show back in the day.

cbs/paramount has recently aquired broadcast rights to UFC (cage-fighting). most of the recent CBS 're-commitment to honest journalism' was to appease UFC ownership (Dana White, spoke at RNC , close friend of PDJT). so that the deal would be go thru CBS previously only had hit pieces on Dana/UFC, but recently, have him on the Morining Show doing a promo for the latest UFC event (which was this past Weekend).
its an uncomfortable dynamic to watch. CBS personalities who mortally hate anyone not in their dimension, now have to pretend they are having an honest interview/conversation.
btw...the broadcast sucked...loaded with commercials/promos(the ppv model works much better for this sport), its almost unwatchable now. however, CBS will broadcast the UFC event at the Whitehouse in July...this has and will influence their 'news content' .

Late night ISN'T that hard. I could listen to Craig Fergeson hit on hot babes all night. He was effortlessly funny and entertaining. Same with Conan, or even Letterman. None were overtly political.

I can't think of any current late-night host who is remotely in that category. Talk shows should be about hanging with your friends and pals, having off the cuff BS sessions. Getting to know stars.

There used to be a schtick with the wild animal guy comes on the show with a beaver, or snake, or something. The point was to just, bring something interesting to talk about, and have people let their hair down a bit.

Look at Joe Rogan work. He gets people to talk about all sorts of crazy stuff. There are a few podcasters out there that could fit the bill. Ana Faris. Adam Buxton. Offer them a $5 million contract and let them do their magic.
