A trucker walked into a roadside diner and said to the new waitress, "I'll have three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a set of running boards."

The waitress blinked. Once. Twice. Certainly something wasn't right.

She rushed into the kitchen and whispered to the cook, "There is a guy out there trying to order car parts for breakfast!"

The cook laughed. "Relax!
Flat tires are pancakes.
Headlights are eggs.
Running boards are bacon."

Relieved, the waitress put the order together and added a bowl of beans before heading back out to the trucker.

The trucker smiled when he saw the plate but frowned when he saw the bowl of beans. "What are the beans for?"

The waitress smiled proudly and said, "Well, I figured you're getting flat tires, headlights and running boards. While you're here, you might as well gas up too!"

Now, a team of 12 scientists from universities in Germany and the Czech Republic have come together in a unique study that observed 37 breeds of dog over a two-year period.
Exactly 1,893 defecations and 5,582 urinations later, the team reach one incredible finding: "dogs preferred to excrete with the body being aligned along the north-south axis."
Dogs join cattle, roe deer, red deer, hunting red foxes, red foxes, coyotes and grey wolves as yet another mammal to have a mechanism of "magnetoreception."
Although their altered behaviour was only evident under calm conditions, it's still a breakthrough in demonstrating measurable, predictable changes in dog behaviour in response to the earth's magnetic field.

37 An ICE Agent lost his finger to a biter in MN today. Unsure if it was the scrawny RN or another loser. I hope he gets rabies shots as nasty!

I unfortunately saw a photo, and the bite was to the first joint, so I thought he wouldn't lose a finger. Unknown if the mutant swallowed it.

I really, really hope and pray President Trump sends in the military at this point. The National Guard could be 50% normal people and 50% weirdos who take orders from Walz and lesbians and would probably shoot fellow soldiers.

The woman blamed a “raccoon” for her lack of self-control.

So far, the nasty stuff hasn't gotten here (Greenville County, SC) yet. Clean radar all over the local area. The local guys and Wundermap put out a "future radar" thingy, which is a short term extrapolation of current conditions evolution. For the last hour it was showing the nasty stuff getting here in the next 10 minutes, but come 10 minute nothing.

Now, it has pushed it out to close to 12:30AM. Zooming out, still pretty much clean over GSP's regional "County warning area" of responsibility.

A shout out to the tropicaltidbits.com guy. WHile GFS (Global Forecast System) is your tax dollars at work, and public and free data, the Euroweenie is not so free and public. They've opened it up over the last few years, but still not to the extent of the GFS. You have to pay a YUGE license fee to get the fancy output. The tropicaltibit people get the free data, plus some they pay for, but not much. They basically get a big dump of numbers, and do the rendering themselves.

That's a lot of work and effort.

Guys would go buy them and we'd put them in ice in our bathtub. Someone brought ice. I had nothing to do with the plan. This is how fancy we were and this was normal for everyone.

Two lines formed in our large apt. One for the loo, and one for beer refills, which was the faster of the two.

I think now, in my refined style, this would put me off a bit. But back then this is how we did it. I don't recall paying a dime for the beer, but someone did. My roommate and I provided the venue. I also don't recall any food, only beer.

I would make a good Dem as I don't recall a lot.

There was a huge camping trip at the end of spring semester and my fellow nursing student friend send me photos recently that she took of me and others. The university and our college merged into one party amoeba. I don't recall how I even got there or how I got home, but I was there and grinning and happy in my bikini. I remember brief snaps of diving off a cliff, swimming, etc. I was very good and not dating, but I also don't remember where I slept except for one night with my friends. None of them would have let me get into trouble.

I'm hoping for sleet to begin with, and the last GFS run showed that before transitioning to freezing rain (ZR in the lingo).

We've got a damnable warm nose afoot. Cold air damming jams in a surface wedge of that cold air, but that moist mess from the southwest rams in, goes over the top, and then starts precipitating. So, snow melts in that warm nose, then comes down to the sub-freezing surface layer.

If it can refreeze before it hits the ground, you've got sleet. If it doesn't, you got the dreaded ZR.

A new plan for new stores will position pumps way back away from the store fronts, with the new space between dedicated to parking. They got sleet for the top half of Greenville, and Western NC over us (some ZR to the far west part) at 1AM EST. A bank band just below, with some encroachment further south toward Columbia.

As far as I am aware, Tokoma Park, MD is the only Municipality in the country that actually held a vote (back in the 1990's) to allow non-US citizens to vote in their local elections. It actually passed, just barely.

I watched as many angles of that that whole incident. St. Alex started out in the middle of the street, confronting the ICE agents. A few moments later he's on a curb with two women. ICE agents appear to get busy in attempting to arrest the women. At that point, St. Alex appears to insert himself into the arrest by getting in between the women and the ICE agents. It's at this point that St. Alex gets 100% of the ICE agents attention. After that, everything becomes obscured by the mass bodies taking him down. It's impossible to tell if he brandished the weapon or if the agents inadvertently discovered it in the scuffle. All that seems clear is that a weapon was discovered and an ICE Agent yelled Gun! And just like that St. Alex of 9mm joined St. George of Fentanyl and St. Renee of Runaway as Minnesota martyrs.

It will get down to 0℉ tomorrow morning, and stay cold until Monday morning, which is forecast to be -6℉.

The forecast snow from the National Weather Service of 1-2 inches is way off. I have about 6-8 inches. It is light and fluffy, and I will drive out without shoveling or getting help from a front-loader.

Power has stayed on.

That area of the Twin Cities is filled with relatively decent people. I lived in that area for five years, and this area is considerably different than Minneapolis proper.

With that said, the same could be said about Edina when I lived there in the late 80s and early 90s, and yet today Edina has been overrun with woke dirtbags, so it is possible Wayzata and Plymouth have degenerated as well, though I hope this isn't the case since I know quite a few people who made their homes there.

My setup back home in Alberta consists of the generator, and a short "death cord" (male plug on each end) to connect it to the 240 volt welder outlet in the garage. The drill in the event of a power failure is: pull the switch on the service pole. That disconnects the house and outbuildings from the pole transformer, but leaves them connected together. Plug death cord into generator and welder outlet. Start generator. Throw breaker in the garage panel for the welder outlet to "on". All the lights should now come on. Turn off all non-essential power users to conserve generator fuel and avoid overloading generator.

Similar setup here but no death chord.

I got the "death outlet" instead. Small weatherproof box with a 50A twist lock four prong male device.
That goes to another small weatherproof box with a disconnect (normally open and locked out so the death outlet is cold). Cord from house to generator is just a heavy 240V 50A extension chord.
