Chris Rea was very popular in the UK and Europe. Had some hits on this side of the Atlantic but never really got big. I liked him.

Senators are "demanding answers"! Not the dreaded strongly worded letter?...oh the horrors. Big tech must be shaking in their boots. Nothing a tiny campaign donation won't swiftly dismiss until the rubes' attention is drawn elsewhere.

Evening and morning, all! It's Friday, the consummatin devoutly to be wished!
It's 45 F. here, no wind to speak of so no wind chill. We'll supposedly hit 68 this pm, so I plan to work out in the afternoon. This morning, car wash and a quick Walmart visit, and maybe a stop at a coffee shop for a small pastry. (They're all small, but their prices are not.) So, what's the world coming to? Is Iran's ruling regime in smoking ruins yet? Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at January 16, 2026 05:31 AM (wzUl9) 39

I hope you are here today Last time you were here you mentioned that you felt numb and can't feel God. That's not unusual for all people of faith at some time or another. Here are some thoughts on that from a Christian perspective: https://tinyurl.com/yuz5arh4 I am praying for you. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at January 16, 2026 05:48 AM (Nx5jP) 42
Yeah, I'm not believing a word from Nvidia on that 5070 Ti/5060 Ti walkback.
They said the same thing about the availablility of their cards this time last year and it all turned out to be B.S., and that was before memory prices skyrocketed. Once they finally got their cards into the supply stream the prices were well above MSRP and still are for the higher VRAM cards, especially the 5080 and 5090 which have never come close to MSRP. So maybe they'll keep selling 5070 Ti and 5060 Ti but you probably aren't going to enjoy paying $1000 for what's supposed to be a $750 card, or $650 for what's supposed to be a $430 card. AMD can make some real headway here in the midrange GPU market if they don't shoot themselves in the foot. Posted by: SpeakingOf at January 16, 2026 05:59 AM (6ydKt) 43
