Paramount's "Landman" Takes on Fragile SJW Pronoun Sissies; Newest, Gayest Star Trek Ever Crashes In Ratings

Emily Juniper 🇺🇸🇦🇺 𝕩
@emilyjuniper_

Jan 13

🚨Paramount's Landman just put the pronoun debate in a chokehold. Ainsley Norris nails it: "Using a plural pronoun for one person is just kind of incorrect."

TCU Counselor: "Says who?"

Ainsley Norris: "Well, the English language."

The world is healing

I know someone who's watching it. She told me that liberal women are attacking the show for failing to write liberal women accurately. (Landman's wife is an AWFL.) She said no, the show does write liberal women completely accurately -- you just don't like seeing yourselves represented honestly.

The show apparently doesn't have much use for liberal women:

Meanwhile, the new Fake Star Trek show is, by all reports, the worst, wokest, and gayest ever.

Chris Gore reported that sources inside Paramount told him that the show's ratings are in the "thousands." Thousands. Not millions, thousands.

This article, about its viewership on YouTube, suggests that Gore's source is right.

The early performance of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is shaping up to be a serious warning sign for Paramount+, with the show's free YouTube premiere delivering alarmingly weak engagement numbers that undercut the platform's entire conversion strategy and marked the show as a flop from the get-go.

The Star Trek: Starfleet Academy premiere flop is already difficult to ignore. Paramount made the unusual decision to launch the series premiere for free on YouTube--typically a move designed to entice casual viewers and convert them into paid subscribers. But if the goal was to build momentum, the results so far suggest the opposite happened.

The premiere episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy debuted on YouTube with a live premiere that peaked at roughly 1,300 concurrent viewers.

In the 11 hours following its release, the episode accumulated approximately 16,000 total views--numbers that would be underwhelming for a mid-tier fan upload, let alone a flagship franchise entry from a major studio.

12 I never cared for Star Trek in any iteration. Yeah, there are elements that I like - the Borg in TNG is one of the most compelling antagonists ever - but as a whole, no. Kurtzman is a hack intent on destroying Star Trek because he is an uncreative propagandist. All Trekkies have my sympathies for this one and much else this side of 2005 besides.

Yes. She made bad choices.

I'm willing to grant her some grace and accept that she thought she'd scare the agent by gunning it towards him, without out meaning to hit him.

But that's a stupid choice and directly responsible for her death. At to the "chaos" her (and those like her) previous stupid choices are what is driving the chaos in our world, NOT enforcing the laws that Democrats don't like.

34 Willowed, related entertainment comment about AWFLs:

I've also enjoyed the takes on why millennial AWFL women have made straight men so toxic to them, the only men they can handle are supernatural studs in their porn, or happily watch gay men in a hockey TV show having sex with each other. Theories as to how they have emasculated men in their real lives, choose the bear over men, and yet want virile masculinity in their fiction. It's been entertaining to read.

Posted by: LizLem at January 15, 2026 03:38 PM (gWBY1)

35 We watched both series of Landman and I loved it. My husband gets irritated at what he calls the soap opera stuff and sex vs violence. I ignore him and we continue.Lots of comments about Tommy's insane wife. Love Nate the lawyer. I want the son to shave his pitiful goatee.

We both cracked up at his definition of The View, and roared over the dorm scene of the pronoun issue. The dyke was played perfectly. It was perfect in her safe space issues and she even had a stinky ferret (let's not forget the ferret's pronouns). To make Ainsely seem smart took a lot, and this part of the show did (I defend her when my husband mocks her).

We loved it and want more! I am a huge Sam Elliot fan, but know he's a lefty in politics.

We veer from movies, to comedy, to various series,Westerns, to violence and mayhem. It all depends on what the remote control guy lands on and we approve (meaning no ghey stuff or really hideous stuff).

We watch tv a total of 1hr a day (not counting his sports stuff in the basement while I read).

Landman suited us for about 2wks of our hourly tv brainspan and our own dialogue.

We hope for a 3rd series.

36 The new Star Trek has got to be money laundering or some kind of tax scam. Not even the wokest leftist retard could possibly have looked at this radioactive dumpster fire of a series and said "yea, this is gonna be a hit."

The series looks shoddy and cheap, has a plot nobody is interested in, annoying doofus characters and bad casting, comically bad marketing, and and overall ooze of sad regret bleeding like what was left of that Planet Fitness pervert's dick after he finished jackhammering off.

38 Landman's wife is not a liberal. She is just bipolar and sort of a gold digger, but then she randomly left her millionaire husband to hook up with her ex who lived in the equivalent of an oil company dorm. She mostly plays as a nutjob with plot armor (attacking someone with no consequences, winning $300k at a casino, etc.).

Bonus - they film lots of scenes in Fort Worth, so the actors can be seen in local eateries around town. Billy Bob Thornton LOVES Fort Worth and her people - and we love him right back.

All of the locals saw it going up and thought their neighborhood was getting a new restaurant. They were kinda crushed when they realized it wasn't a real place to eat 🤣🤣🤣

I got asked to leave a meeting at my bank (on business loans). There were a group of six of us, and expectedly, the first thing we had to do is go around the table and introduce ourselves. One guy insisted on sharing his "non-binary" pronouns of "They and Them". He specifically stated, "My preferred pronouns are they and them."

To which I interjected. "You mean "OUR preferred pronouns are they and them. 'My' is a singular pronoun." He got snippy. I proceeded to correct him every time he used the pronoun "I", which was often. The "They Thems" sure like to talk about themselves incessantly. Eventually, the manager in charge of the meeting asked me to leave, to which I had no problem. On the way out the door I looking at Mr. Plural Pronoun and said, "All of you have a nice day."

Liberal Trek fans I know got smug that in TNG, we'd created a socialist utopia where there's no conflict among federation members on the ship and no need for money. This new show blows all that up. Or will trigger them their perfect fictional socialist utopia failed. Again.

It's why I loved TOS. It real raw and real and dealt with real human issues. TNG felt more sterile, like we'd sanded off the rough parts of life by hand waving them away.

As soon as Roddenberry died, the TNG writers basically rebelled from his Rules to make a Snore Fest.

The first season the writers were not allowed to write interpersonal conflicts(!!)

In theme with Roddenberry's ludicrous progress dreams in TOS, he determined that the future would solve the whole issue of interpersonal conflicts. The writers almost choked when he laid down this rule.

Rian Johnson must have been a true believer at one point, but still has people in it he loves. Be sure it does a good job of ripping down the hypocrites and heretics, while being respectful of the true believers who actually try to walk the path of Christ. Highly recommend.

Many decades ago, I read a review of the movie Bull Durham. The critic asked rhetorically, how do make a great baseball movie? Make it about something besides baseball. 292 Elon's machine would like to have a word about Angela:

Taylor Sheridan’s writing tends to contrast rough, traditional, working-class masculinity (the oil patch) with privileged, often dysfunctional elite society (Dallas high-society world where Angela lives). But that elite world in Landman is Texas oil money—culturally more conservative/Republican than coastal liberal. Angela embodies the spoiled, high-maintenance ex-wife of a wealthy oil exec, not the stereotypical performative progressive.

The “L” (liberal) in AWFL doesn’t actually apply here. She’s emphatically affluent white female, and she hits a lot of the entitlement/hypocrisy beats that annoy viewers (the gala scenes, the dramatic personal life, the detachment from the dangerous work that funds her lifestyle), but without the progressive political or cultural signaling, she doesn’t fit the specific AWFL archetype.

The term wouldn’t land accurately if applied to her—the stereotype is aimed at a different demographic (think coastal, college-educated, virtue-signaling wine-mom types). Angela is more of a classic Texas socialite trope: glamorous, messy, privileged, and apolitical.

Titan, one of Saturn's moons-
Chemical composition and surface roughness of the lakes:
According to Cassini data, scientists announced on February 13, 2008, that Titan hosts within its polar lakes "hundreds of times more natural gas and other liquid hydrocarbons than all the known oil and natural gas reserves on Earth." The desert sand dunes along the equator, while devoid of open liquid, nonetheless hold more organics than all of Earth's coal reserves. It has been estimated that the visible lakes and seas of Titan contain about 300 times the volume of Earth's proven oil reserves.

Meanwhile back here on earth, we have enough proven oil/gas reserves to last (at current rate of usage) about 400 years.

Yeah, I used to call TNG "The Love Boat" because it was nothing like a military vessel.

That makes zero sense when you consider the most reliably left-wing demographic in the US presently is young women.

My sister was smart enough to discard liberal principles if they affected her life. She'd talk the talk and chase riff raff off her lawn in DC with a broom.

385 "Landman" is a great show. The writers deserve a bonus, as do Ali Larter and Michelle Randolph.

387 Of course, the challenge is getting all them tasty hydrocarbons back to Earth. In the novelization of the movie Alien, the Nostromo was hauling a cargo of hydrocarbons back to Earth because we'd run out.

It would be far cheaper to make hydrocarbons from CO2 and water than it would be to haul them from Titan.

388 Look at the demeanor difference between the two roommates. One is happy, friendly, carefree, positive, healthy looking,.. the other is dour, mean, depressed, sickly, and complicated.

It the difference between being what you naturally are, and what society is telling you to BE. The person being told what to be is unhappy, the person being what she is, is not.

389 By the by, the star fleet academy show is set in a future where the federation (the U.S.) has collapsed, and they are re-establishing a new future. With very ...progressive ideals.

More or less a communist wet dream.

390 They missed the chance to have the roommate be grossly obese.
