Former McDonald's Worker (?) Kamala Harris Buys $8 Million Graft Mansion

Boy, "civil servants" who supposedly make much less money than they would command in the private sector sure do get filthy rich.

How does that happen?

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is upgrading her Los Angeles real estate portfolio, trading one celebrity-soaked neighborhood for another.

Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff recently dropped a little over $8 million ($8.15 million) on a 4,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Point Dume, a neighborhood in Malibu that's home to a who's who of both Hollywood and -- more recently -- Silicon Valley power players, the California Post has learned.

Oh right, her woman-beating husband is a lawyer.

In recent weeks several Point Dume residents have spotted Emhoff strolling through the neighborhood which rests on a 63-acre promontory perched above one of California's most famous and exclusive beaches known as Little Dume.

Access to Little Dume, which boasts one of the most coveted surf breaks in all of California requires a special key that only a select group of Point Dume residents can possess.

While much of Malibu remains devastated by the one-two punch of the 2018 Woolsey Fire and the 2025 Palisades Fire, Point Dume is in relatively good shape compared to other parts of Malibu.

Speaking of: Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass promised they would clear the red tape to allow people to rebuild the houses the California government burned down.

Barely any houses have been rebuilt.

Adam Carolla just revisited Malibu. He found one house being rebuilt. The owner had to spend $2.5 million just for his foundation to meet CA requirements. It looks like a missile silo. Meanwhile, the nearby wooden pier still stands after 120 years.

Yup, they sure cleared out that red tape...

Look at what the government required this property owner to build before he could put down the first beam of his house: Caissons four stories deep!

They're also forcing him to build a sea wall to protect against erosion. The sea wall is also required to be built with caissons extending down four to five stories to the bedrock.

Clearing out the red tape, requiring citizens to build sea walls to protect the coast one property lot at a time.

Nevermind that all California beaches are in fact, public property by law, and access is supposed to be free to all, either through direct connection to other public land or through access easements across private land.

The rich commie cocksuckers in Malibu have been fighting to appropriate public beaches for their own exclusive use for decades.

32 While I have no doubt LA is fucking over its residents on rebuilding, this story about the caissons doesn't show it.

The house is literally on the sand of an ocean beach. It's standard construction practice to install caissons going down 40 feet or more when you are building a very significant structure on sand or other unstable surface. The idea is the caissons have to go down all the way to solid rock bed, or else the entire structure will be unstable. How else are you going to build on sand?

And yes, caissons can look like missile silos.

Yea, this is constantly as issue in rich areas like Hamptons. The rich want a private beach, but no beaches are private. caisson(n.)

"ammunition wagon; wooden chest for bombs, gunpowder, etc.," 1704, from French caisson "ammunition wagon," originally "large box" (16c.), from Italian cassone, augmentative form of cassa "a chest," from Latin capsa "a box" (see case (n.2

94 When I noted earlier that today's decision is huge, I think it is:

"Candidates also have an interest in a fair process."
"Win or lose, candidates suffer when the process departs from the law."
"The counting of unlawful votes--or discarding of lawful ones--erodes public confidence in election results and the elected representative."
"Counting first and ruling upon legality afterwards is not a recipe for producing election results that have the
public acceptance democratic stability requires."
"And in much the same way, an unlawful extension of vote counting deprives candidates of the opportunity to compete for election under the Constitution and laws of the United States. "

This was written by Roberts.
All the "no standing, now or then" bullshit is done.
This ends the PA "opps, we forgot to keep the provisional ballot segregated and counted them."
No more CA, AZ, et al., "we have to count for weeks after."

It really should be clear to all of us by now that inside the US, every single "protest" going back to maybe even the 60's has been organized and paid for by foreign actors and home grown oligarchs. This idea that "protests" are organic and represent popular will is one of the most destructive fantasies that we still cling to.

The only true Protests are the ones that will cause the government to quickly call out the military and police to crush brutally, such as the Canadian truckers during Covid, J6, and the Iranian marchers today. If there is no strong reaction, then it should be obvious that the "protestors" are acting with the approval and authority of at least a good part of the government.

For example, the "protestors" in Minneapolis are acting with the will and the blessing of Minnesota's state government.

Robinson told Collin that “when we dug a little further, we discovered that Abdullahi Ali, the CEO [of Gateway Community Services, an LLC that founded by a Somali-American refugee, Abdallahi Ali in Maine], was in fact running for president of Jubaland, Somalia, the semi-autonomous region of southern Somalia. 156 Except both parties are aware that something like 90% of Iran's oil is shipped from Kharg Terminal. Iran hits one Saudi facility and that island is a smoking pile.
Posted by: weft cut-loop at January 14, 2026 02:16 PM (mlg/3)

The biggest reason Kharg is off limits is that China gets a lot of its oil from that source. If anyone hits it or cuts off the flow, that brings China and it's army into the fight, and Nobody on any side wants that.

At the end of the last 12 day war a few weeks ago, Iran itself threatened to shut down the straits of Hormuz, which was always supposed to be their big "trump" card to play. China sent out a very short message, simple and to the point - "Don't do it, or we're going to have to come over there."
Iran immediately said "we were just joking! Never mind, never mind."

If your house is dry enough the bread just dries out instead of molding, you can use the stale bread for toast. It is also good if you do the sort of cooking that is based around sops or croutons.

Oatmeal can keep the baked loaf moister longer, but if you use too much it will affect the texture.

218 I started watching the Carolla video.

He knows a lot, but he makes a lot of errors. OK, maybe not errors, but he does that too, but he isinaccurate and incomplete in a lot of things. The last video I saw he was explaining concrete form tech and made such a hash of it, it was embarrassing.

The caissons are really just another word for concrete piles -- they are piles. (And logically, they are NOT caissons even though they call them that.) And pile foundations are mostly friction piles where they do not reach bedrock, they only go down deep enough that the soil supports the load. (coastal construction is different, but he drew a mountain in that one shot.)

And Venice is built on wood piles -- they can last forever if done right. Creosote is wood tar -- it is the gook that comes off of burnt wood without enough O2, like wood turpentine, and is kind of natural even though enviros hate it.

Just little things like that the make me annoyed. But mostly he is informative I guess.

230 Nope, fat loss is not easy, but it is simple.

You can lose weight - burn fat - eating nothing but candy bars, if you want. Pure carbs.

I would not recommend that. Caloric restriction however has always been, and remains the only way to lose weight. Carbs taste good. I know people like to talk about what won’t work in theory, but in the real world you’ll discover life without carbs tends to be bland.

About every other year, the news media in Santa Barbara would start screaming about tar balls on the beaches, blaming the oil companies that still extract oil from the decades-old pumpjacks around South Ellwood, just north of the city.

They'd scream for a couple of weeks, and then about a month or so later, they'd issue a quiet correction noting that the tar balls were natural, and that the Chumach injuns would use them to waterproof their boats and canoes long before the white man came along.

Black women will be a near majority, if not a clear majority, of primary voters in SC.

The last Dem to lose SC and win the Dem primary was in 1988.

And SC has just gotten a whole lot more important in the calendar since. Iowa is a joke, and NH's early primary actually isn't recognized by the DNC (the real one is after Super Tuesday, the state's delegation is being punished by the DNC for some reason).

The only early state that matters...Kamala will win by 50 points. And then all the other states will just...do the complete opposite?

True.

Democrats have to love their candidates as they would gods. It makes the voters good people to support such good candidates.

Think of her as Hillary!...I'll wait...There! You see.

I look at Hillary! and see an unpleasant, angry, antisocial, mentally unstable, drunken harpy.

Democrats see a great and good woman of nearly goddess-like ability destined to lead our country and who should've won if not for the perfidy of the Orange Horror Trump!!!!

It's going to take a while for the Kamala spell to wear-off, unless she totally screws up or bails, she'll be the early favorite for the Dim Party's Preezy candidate.

I think the key is for access to the private roads and streets where the houses are. Like a gated community. But the beach itself can be accessed from the water, or by walking north or south to it. No fences across the beach.
