The Morning Report — 1/13/26

Mosque-OW.jpg

Good morning kids. Starting off with the continued and escalating internal unrest in Iran, here is a very interesting and rather telling development:

Iranian demonstrators set mosques ablaze during heated protests against the country’s Islamic government, according to local video and reports this weekend. Protesters in Iran have set numerous fires since the riots broke out Dec. 28, with Tehran’s fire department claiming as many as 34 mosques were burned, according to multiple outlets. One video verified by NBC News showed a crowd cheering Friday night while a Tehran mosque became engulfed in flames. (RELATED: ‘Death To America’ Radical Complains She Got Detained By Customs After Iran Trip) The mass uprising reportedly began in response to economic woes but follows months of instances of women shedding their mandatory headwear in a statement against the country’s forced Islamic norms. Another video posted by Reuters showed a mob vandalizing the Abuzar Mosque in Tehran on Thursday, scattering furniture and laying incendiary devices. The Iranian regime has massacred hundreds while clamping down on the disorder, the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists in Iran reports, according to The New York Post.

President Donald Trump on Jan. 2 hinted at possible military action if Iran kills protesters, leading to a social media duel with Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei over the following days that involved the ayatollah posting an image of Trump in a coffin. Trump previously bombed multiple Iranian nuclear facilities amid conflict with Israel, marking the most overt U.S. military operation against the regime in years.

So, okay, why do I find this interesting and telling? Considering that Iran is a majority Muslim nation and that its government since 1979 has been a Muslim theocracy based on the strict tenets of Sharia law, that mosques are being torched by the protesters at the very least underscores a disaffection with the aforementioned. And admittedly, here is where I might be stretching things but nevertheless I am going to formulate a bit of an hypothesis and make an assumption.

Remember that the self-styled cognoscenti, elite and thought leaders have unceasingly been hocking a tchainik over our heads here in America and the west that Islam is a religion of peace and to dare even question that would be Islamophobic, bigoted and racist, etc. etc. ad nauseam.

Well then if that is the case then how to explain the Iranian Muslim "street" rising up and torching their own houses of worship if the shibboleths about Islam and Sharia as paragons of peace and moral order are as we have been forced to accept under pain of being labeled a racist xenophobe Islamophobe for defiance of that.

I'm sure the usual excuses will be given that just like the true believers who took down the World Trade Center were "extremists" who bastardized the true meaning of Islam or were Israeli Mossad agents or even Americans sent in by President Trump or both if you're Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. But that of course is nonsense.

So, here's my take. It tells me that the Persian/Iranian people have taken to the streets not merely to replace the Muallhs with other Mullahs. They recognize it's the entire system that is corrupt, inept, destructive and lethal to their thriving as a functioning and advancing society. Prior to 1979, Iran was a modern, flourishing and western-oriented (politically and culturally) nation. And that is still within living memory of many Iranians and it is something that the younger generations are desperate to return to.

Here's where maybe I'm stretching things a bit and quite possibly wish-casting — Look at Iran's history prior to 1979, the excesses of the Shah and Mossadegh notwithstanding, ask any average Iranian expat and they'll tell you that life under them was paradise compared to what Khomeini and his successors wrought.

Now look at present day Turkey through that lens. A secular, modern, society thanks to Kemal Ataturk and turned into an Islamic thugocracy through the tyrannical rule of Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his AKP since 2002. Could what's happening in Iran spread to Turkey?

On the down side, you'll recall the 2011 "Arab Spring" demonstrations that led to the downfall of a number of Arab Islamic governments primarily in North Africa but instead of resulting in the rise of small "D" democratic forces led to the ascendancy of the Muslim Brotherhood in the region and its malign influence in the ensuing years.

Lest we forget that Afghanistan at one time was also a fairly modern society until the coming of the Taliban and then of course the Soviet Invasion and later our insane Democracy Project in the wake of 9/11 and Gulf War 2. Result, over 3,000 American soldiers dead, Taliban still there and weaponized courtesy of Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants snap bug-out of 2020 with untold numbers of Afghani jihadists here in our country given political asylum.

In any case, the Cliff Notes version of the above is, I suppose, I'm wondering can Islam reform itself? That is is what we are witnessing in Iran a scintilla of hope that we are not doomed for all time to face an existential threat from the followers of Mohammed

Then again, the bitter irony is that as Teheran and Istanbul duke it out over which one gets to be the capital of a global caliphate, or perhaps both turning a new leaf and experiencing an enlightenment and rebirth as paragons of western civilization, Europe and the West become the axis upon which a reenergized and even more virulent Islam rotates. When the #1 baby name in England and other nations is Mohammed, the future doesn't look so bright.

And while mosques may be burning in Iran, Yet another synagogue went up in flames. This time in of all places Jackson, Mississippi:

Federal prosecutors say the man accused of torching Mississippi’s oldest and largest synagogue admitted he selected the building because of its connection to Judaism.

Authorities arrested a suspect, Stephen Spencer Pittman, Saturday night. Investigators said an intentionally set fire gutted Beth Israel Congregation in Jackson, Miss. Federal prosecutors said Monday that the man charged with torching the synagogue admitted he targeted the building because of its “Jewish ties,” after police arrested him at a hospital where he was treated for burn injuries from the early-morning fire, according to The New York Times.

Investigators identified Pittman after his father contacted the FBI and reported that his son had confessed to starting the fire, according to an affidavit filed in federal court Monday. Location data from a tracking app running on Pittman’s cellphone reinforced that account, showing him leaving his home in a Jackson suburb, stopping at a gas station to buy fuel, and then driving directly to the synagogue. . . Prior to this incident, another high-profile attack targeted a synagogue in Manchester, England, where a man killed two people outside the building, highlighting broader security concerns surrounding Jewish houses of worship. The suspect, Jihad al-Shamie, was reportedly free on bail at the time of the synagogue attack after previously facing an alleged rape charge.

Synagogues are connected to Judaism? Wow, I'm shocked. Maybe he should've targeted the Weather Channel for a twofer, after all Jews control the weather and the media, nein?

In all seriousness, where did this bastard get the notion to torch a synagogue and attack Jews? Meh, where did the now deceased Renee Good get it in her head to use her SUV to try and ram ICE agents?

In the immortal lyrics of Rodgers and Hammerstein You've Got To Be Carefully Taught

And mostly in Pittsburgh by Yinzer psychopaths

Have a great day.

And lastly, a quick shout-out and a huge thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

We're not perfect, but I'd like to think we're close to the ideal clients for our vet. We take good care of our guys. They're easy for them to work with. They receive regular shots and exams. If there's a problem, it's an organic one and not a result of our ownership. We can describe and discuss things intelligently and follow instructions. And if the worse happens, we face up to it and do the right thing for them.

There's still a large Zoroastrian population, and a bunch of agnostics (as a very broad brush - secularist in today's parlance). But Islam was imposed on them by the Ayatollah. (The "popular" sentiment that put the Ayatollah in place was much like the "popular" sentiment we see today with anti-ICE and pro-trans malarkey - manufactured by communists and Islamists and much louder than it was actually large.)

75 I would argue that Trump has three crappy options, at this point.

1.) Don't say anything further. No more threats. Lend whatever support possible without it being overt. Let this unfold. Worst case scenario is the protests fail, status quo ante is restored, but with an even further weakened regime. Some embarrassment over the big talk Trump’s already been making, but this is the best option.

2.) Intervene. Make it fast and brutal, overthrow the regime, and start the process of a proxy war with China for control of Persia. I hate this option, but he may well have painted us into this corner already.

3.) The very worst, stupidest option: negotiate, betray the opposition he's heretofore supported, rescue the regime, and utterly destroy whatever credibility we may have regained as a serious world power. The Vance option is the plan of an idiot. He needs to be flatly ignored, and perhaps publicly ordered to STFU.

81 And yeah, if one is trying to reduce the influence of Islam, one would probably have a better chance of doing that through non-Arab populations that were conquered by Islam.

Islam seems to expect converts to "Arabize", take on Arabic names, become more culturally Arabic, etc.

There's probably still a lot of underlying resentment that that foments.

——-

It isn’t a rural urban divide per se. The Sheriff is the highest elected official in most every county. They have enormous authority and latitude, if they choose to exercise it. They want to de-fang this authority, at least until they can infiltrate with reliable, left wing apparatchiks. Same playbook as they use with any other pillar of effective governance. But yeah, a good Sheriff is not in line with left wing control, not even a little bit. That’s why they hate them. Again, at least until they can infiltrate and gut the institution, and wear its skin as a suit, and demand respect.

"I want to be very clear: 1. There is no indication that there's anything about this individual other than his immigration status that caused him to be arrested," [\b]he said during Monday's press briefing.
However, the Department of Homeland Security responded in statement, saying the employee had no work authorization, is a "a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela and an employee of New York's City Council," 2. and that his criminal history includes an arrest for assault.
DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said that the employee "entered the United States on a B2 tourist visa in 2017 that required him to depart the U.S by October 22, 2017," and 3. "had no legal right to be in the United States."

145 I'm wondering can Islam reform itself?

How? Either Islam says what all these theocracies say it says, or it doesn't. If it doesn't, then Islam needs no reform (maybe), it only needs to rid itself of its false prophets. If it does, then to 'reform' Islam is to abandon the commands of Allah and one may as well give it up entirely instead.

I think they all resign at the end of the term. Recycled Secretaries usually sit out several terms.

328 Islam makes it incumbent on all adult males, provided they are not disabled or incapacitated, to prepare themselves for the conquest of [other] countries so that the writ of Islam is obeyed in every country in the world. . . . But those who study Islamic Holy War will understand why Islam wants to conquer the whole world. . . . Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all! Does this mean that Muslims should sit back until they are devoured by [the unbelievers]? Islam says: Kill them [the non-Muslims], put them to the sword and scatter [their armies]. Does this mean sitting back until [non-Muslims] overcome us? Islam says: Kill in the service of Allah those who may want to kill you! Does this mean that we should surrender [to the enemy]? Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for the Holy Warriors!

'Strong Message,' Black Panther Party members make presence known in Philly amid federal crackdowns.

'Pushing back on holding pattern,' Philly's federal judges have found Trump's mandatory detention policy unlawful.

'DOJ: Sorry, you're cut off,' Trump's team nixed funding to violence prevention groups (Aside, but that doesn't mean that, at the minimum, they're not receiving other funding including, but not limited to, via other NPs and Opiate Drug Settlement funding from Philly & the ring counties.)

'ICE to back off? Nope' Noem says she'll send more federal agents to Minnesota.

'Recurring Nightmare' Race, police violence, and the Minneapolis shooting of Renee Good.

In part, "Floyd was a victim of the disproportionate police violence leveled against Black people, and Good - a white woman - was a casualty of Donald Trump's war on Black and brown immigrants." ...

348 America are valued, and when they go missing or are victimized, media attention is so overwhelming that social scientists use a specific term to describe it: Missing White Woman Syndrome.

With that in mind, here is the ugly truth: America's racial hierarchy will assuredly seek justice for Good. And while I hate that she senselessly lost her life at the hands of here government, and was demonized by the president and his cabinet members, I am nonetheless hopeful for change.

If this brutal incident wakes Americans to the danger of this moment, Renee Good did not lose her life in vain."

Recall little sympathy for Ashli Babbitt outside of "Deplorables" & some conservative press. But the conditioning of a general population to adopt programs (Black Liberation Movement) IS real.

It's not the government trying to capture the worse, most dangerous illegals, it's racial prejudice. It's not people brought to this country on refugee status (beginning 1992) & continuing under the terrible, uncontrollable Temporary Protected Status program, & so many of them robbed the state's & nation's coffers quickly and deeply. It's racial prejudice. Black & brown.

Intersectionality.

Dashad "Sage" Smith, a 19-year-old Black transgender woman was last seen on November 20, 2012, in downtown Charlottesville, VA. Four years later, the case was reclassified as a homicide, drawing increased attention to the unsolved case and issues surrounding missing trans individuals.

A atmosphere of ever increasing racial and social tension in Charlottesville and, eventually, displays of white nationalism and counter protesting until a 'White woman' was killed and many imprisoned including one who is serving two life sentences for murder and hate crimes.
