Trump Announces US Withdrawal from 66 International Organizations and Treaties

President Trump has ordered the United States to withdraw from 66 international organizations and treaties, delivering one of the most sweeping breaks yet from what his administration views as a bloated globalist bureaucracy siphoning American taxpayer dollars with little accountability or return.
At the center of the move is the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, the umbrella treaty that underpins nearly every major international climate agreement and hosts the annual U.N. climate summits.
The decision prompted immediate outrage from European officials, with EU climate commissioner Wopke Hoekstra lamenting that the world's largest economy was "retreating" from what he called the backbone of global climate action, adding that Europe would press on regardless.
Trump, by contrast, has been blunt that he sees no reason for Americans to bankroll institutions premised on what he has long dismissed as exaggerated or fraudulent claims about man-made climate catastrophe, especially while U.S. energy producers are being asked to shoulder the cost.

The withdrawal order also pulls the U.S. out of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, along with a slate of related outfits including the International Renewable Energy Agency, U.N. Oceans, and U.N. Water, all of which receive funding and legitimacy from American participation.
Trump has likewise again exited UNESCO after the Biden administration rejoined it, and reaffirmed his earlier withdrawal from the World Health Organization, while sharply cutting foreign aid more broadly.

At Hot Air, Ed Morrissey noted that the Senate had actually ratified the gay Climate Change treaty, but he also points out it's only a "framework" without any definite commitments so even without a formal withdrawal, Trump can just completely ignore it.

Honestly, despite the expense, I think the best way to jerk district court judges' chains is to require them to hear all cases in panels of three that deal with declaring state or federal actions and laws unconstitutional (this was actually the law from the 1890's to the 1970's). Nothing more sobering than walking the ground after the 'hogs have strafed the shit out of it. During a live fire exercise I was on, the 'hogs strafed a solid granite mountaintop on the Eielson AFB impact area. I'd been on the detail that put up targets all over the area. When our battalion assaulted up to the summit the next day, it was an enormous pile of dirt. With overlapping divits for about 300 yards in all directions. Looked like a giant golf ball.

I *think* (not sure) that one thing Elon can do is "unlock" Starlink in certain regions, so that not only is it available, but basically any modern satellite reciever can access it, not just Starlink recievers.

I don't know any details, but I do remember hearing somewhere that that was a thing.

Starlink uses a small dish and small control box on the ground to hook your tablet/laptop/desktop to. Signals go to a satellite overhead, which relays them to a ground station that is connected to the internet. The ground station can be hundreds, or even thousands of miles away if the signals are bounced from satellite to satellite.

Feel sorry for them like the Army now. Our worst air bases were nicer in most cases than the main army bases I have been at. Enlisted housing is one area where a bunch of officers need to be courtmartialed and a bunch of wicked contractors need to be permanent fired and prosecuted under the false claims act. Same thing with meal services on a lot of Army bases.

It was apparent though in the enlisted mess as the French speakers sat in a group, the English speakers sat in another group, and the Newfies were like the dogs, wanting to be friends with everyone and thus circling between groups. Funny really.
