45 The slice of urban landscape over on the left has a very Hopper-esque vibe. So does the red brick building and the window frame . . . but at that point any resemblance to Hopper's style disappears.

He and Hopper were contemporaries for a number of years. I wonder if they met, or knew each other socially, and if Hopper's work influenced Evergood's.

159 I like the way he captured the movement of the birds and even how the bricks are painted. But the windows are dark and the interior feels empty despite the brighter colors in the painting. The birds are the only signs of life against the hard lines of the city. Even the tree branches are dead. What could have been a charming image of a little girl taking delight in the birds' antics has a sense of isolation, perhaps innocent desperation to connect with a living world. And her hands, in contrast to her face, belong to an old woman, not a child. Perhaps this interaction with life is as good as it will ever get for her.

Maybe I need more coffee but the overall sense of the painting is lonely and depressing.

I looked at some of his other works. He seems to be trying to channel, badly, van Gogh but without any of the liveliness.

Background of the Case
Michael Bowe was charged in 2008 with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery,

My only problem with Rear Window is it's hard to see Perry Mason as the bad guy.

Vertigo could do without that long, weird animated dream sequence. I get that he was trying to show Jimmy Stewart's becoming unhinged but it goes on too too long. I like the long shots of San Francisco - what a beautiful city ! And I always like the '50's cars.

While Floyd dies of an over-dose (as the first autopsy report found -- later changed under pressure), the image of Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd's back smirking at the camera was pretty powerful for those who didn't know or lied about the circumstances of Floyd's death.

The video of the incident shows that Renee Good pointed her car directly at the ICE officer, and then struck him with the car. Additionally, she had been following ICE around all morning and was blocking the road before she got herself shot.

I was just on the Tube of Ewes and the algorithm thought I would be interested in a CBS News clip -- easily over 75% of the comments were to the effect that Good had put herself in harm's way and the ICE officer was justified in defending himself. This in going to end up being an 80/20 issue with the Democrats supporting the minority position.

It's sh#tty, but better than being served food that's been tampered with. The owner/staff is giving them a heads-up they will not be well served. Also: Possible illegals onsite!

Everyone in legacy media, even the New York post, are using old pics of her where she has long hair and looks sane. If they used the newer pics where she shaved her head and has the scary woke eyes and aging face, everyone would just take one look and go yeah, I'm sad she's dead but she clearly also has issues. But they choose these pics of their angel martyrs on purpose. But even the post fell for it!
