Yes. If the courts in an insurrection area are no longer in session due to unrest, that means martial law can be invoked with all trials as military tribunals.
But before that, it is clear, trying to interfere with federal law enforcement of a delegated national power in the Constitution, means Gov. Timmy the Pedo is the new Orval Faubus. And Ike nationalized the Arkansas National Guard specifically to keep Orval from using them any further. They were federalized for about one year.

Regardless, tomorrow is another day and tonight I enjoy our tree one more night. It is my rules and I decided who cares if I break them inside my own livingroom? My husband did take down the wreaths and lit garlands off the porch, so he made an effort that we don't look like "those people." We have neighbors who leave up their lit snowflakes all winter and I am all for it.
I think Walz is on Xanax as he looked subdued for him vs his usual tantrum. In all honesty I only watched 2 seconds, so maybe he outbursted later.

The National Guard oath of enlistment is longer than the regular services because it includes both the state and federal authorities, but explicit in the law organizing the National Guard is federal supremecy.
Back in the 1980s, National Guard troops were being sent to Central America for training, and leftist governors tried to stop it, filed suit and lost. For Title 32 training, there is boilerplate about "with the consent of the governor" but it isn't needed for Title 10, which is federal duty.
Trump can just order them placed under Title 10 authority and that's it. Game over.

True. From the video, he looked pretty calm and collected as he was legitimately in fear of a deadly force threat he neutralized. It doesn't really matter what he thought at this point...the video proves he was fully justified in his use of force per the law.
Also, Whig's analysis is pretty good, and any minor quibbles I'd add wouldn't make a substantial difference. I was originally active duty, and have served in the guard now for around 20 years, several of which were in the State Joint Operation Center dispatching troops to state emergencies and Federal requests. The only recent hiccup I'm seeing is the courts getting involved and staying Presidential call-ups to title X service. That is very unusual.

No, modern aircraft carrier battlegroups cannot reach the Great Lakes due to size restrictions of the locks and canals, particularly the St. Lawrence Seaway, which is too small for them. But we did have aircraft carriers in the Great Lakes in WWII for pilots to practice carrier landspings without fear of surprise attacks. Carriers were smaller in those days.

In that entire year I parallel parked pretty much every day. No biggie. Never a DJ g to the car never any curb rash. The. One day my gf asks if she can use my car. I said sure. She comes back. Both the front and back numbers have scratches and both wheels are scraped .
Me: 250 parallel parks, zero damage
Her 1 parallel park, car loses $1000 in value.
Turns out I should have paid the $100 extra after all.
I look back and laugh at it now but it really pissed me off at the time.

When I was in college we did bunches of fucking around, much of which would definitely have gotten court dates though not big house time were we caught, however, we were very aware of the risk of finding out, we scrupulously avoided, even endeavored to never ever get to the finding out things.
