Zohran Mamdani's Head of Tenant/Rental Policy: We're Going to Start Seizing Property From Its Owners, Especially "White Families"
Updated: She Repeatedly Calls for the Seizure of Private Property

That headline is not juiced. It's what she says.

Sabrina (LionHearted)
@LionHearted76

Wow.... 😶 Absolutely speechless!

"For centuries we really treated property as an individualized good and not a collective good, in transitioning into treating it as a collective good and towards the model of shared equity...it will mean that families, especially White families...are going to have a different relationship to property than the one that we currently have."

This is the same damaging trajectory as Biden letting in millions of unvetted illegals, as Gavin Newsom making a law that no one needs voter ID to vote, and the same 'collectivism' that Maduro used to ruin Venezuela.

For New Yorkers to vote for this idiocy was pure insanity.

For the "econowives", kinda. The top tier were offered the handmaid position which came with a number of perks, with their higher rank enforced by the government. Even some lesbians took the deal, since they were better able not to catch feelings for the (married) man to whom they were assigned.
Atwood is sometimes accused of being a feminist, but Handmaid's Tale is more of a misogynist text.

Yup. And these cases will go the "right" way.

The Party is going to defend NYC and corner Mamdani. He will find that he's unable to legally do most of what he wants (he has surprisingly little taxing authority and many other laws prevent his agenda), and the courts aren't going to side with him because the courts are doing to defend the vital Party power and capital center.

He will use his failure due to lack of scope and authority to run for governor, and probably succeed.

That too is another domino likely to fall. The original disparate impact theory was a stupid notion based on Scotus misinterpreting the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Deliberately. Never would have flown under the original conception of the 14th Amendment equal protection clause.

If Scotus kills the VRA interpretation as contrary to the 14th, then it is likely the disparate impact will also fall based on the 14th. Court never reinterprets a statute figuring Congress and Prezzie can change it. But, they will overturn statutes based on constitutionality including past statutory interpretations that gave the okay to it (like Plessy and Bolling v. Sharpe).

278 Zohran Mamdani eliminates daily NYPD briefings, demotes police Commissioner Jessica Tisch

Newly sworn-in M*slim Mayor Zohran Mamdani has restructured City Hall to eliminate direct daily intelligence briefings from the NYPD commissioner to the mayor.
The protocol was put in place to help keep the nation's top terrorist target safe from threats ranging from lone-wolf extremists to coordinated plots.

Critics say the move undermines information flow that is necessary for protecting eight million residents in a city that has prevented over two dozen terror attacks since 2001, including foiled subway bombings and vehicle-ramming schemes.
(Cont)

Posted by: rickb223 at January 05, 2026 02:36 PM (c115l)

279 Mamdani's executive order changes the structure of the mayor's office, placing NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch under a deputy mayor rather than reporting directly to the mayor himself - so the NYPD commish will no longer have access to the mayor.
This effectively demotes Tisch by moving her to a lower spot on the operational chain that includes oversight of city services like garbage collection.

Tisch, who agreed to stay on even though she disagrees with Mamdani's anti-police stance, now faces added bureaucratic layers.

In addition, Mamdani has also canceled an executive order that beefed up NYPD patrols around synagogues and Jewish institutions during rising antisemitic crimes, attacks and assaults nationwide.

The FBI reports show a surge in hate crimes against Jewish communities following the October 7th attack by the Hamas terrorists.

She's very plain about this goring primarily white people's oxen (whether that's actually accurate as a statistical matter or not). She and she alone injected race into this, and it's entirely consistent with her previous written declaration that private property rights, home ownership especially, "is a weapon of white supremacy." Those two things are largely independent.

Silicon Valley pouring into the Front Range started in the 90s, during the telecoms boom. The bust that followed was a stay of execution, but the post-dotcom resurgence brought it right back to the fore, *well* before weed was legalized. Colorado was the low-cost alternative to offshoring for the Bay Area. There was a huge tech boom as a result, and massive influx of coastal Californians. All of that was surging along for years before legal weed, and it more or less enabled it.

Colorado went 100% cheat-by-mail in 2008 and that was the bursting of the dam.

Sometimes in inflammatory arthritis situations, that can upset things. But the neuropathy and muscular weakness from radiculopathy doesn't leave me much choice.

I do have one the best surgeons though in the region doing the cervical surgery and I did get a second opinion from a top neurosurgeon at a well known medical school to verify the treatment plan was valid.

Posted by: Judge Elric The Blade

--------

Not zero power. The modern commie understands that they don't have to seize property to collectivize -- instead they limit use, expand regulations, and seize control of the property. Often this is done through convoluted programs that punish people that don't fall in line. They come up with fees and taxes, and then reward the ones that give up control.

What do you think Section 8 is? It is the seizure of property from building owners to favor the poor. Not all the property, just 2 apartments out of 20. This has been ongoing in NYC with how they regulate buildings, and she is the person in charge.

Hilton is a large family of companies. Some of which have military contracts.
It is also possible that canceling the "contract" (reservation) is a criminal offense and could debar Hilton from doing any further business with the federal government.

395 Nah. If it was just another leftist calling for leftist nonsense they've been calling for for 150 years, it never would have made the news. That would just be part of background noise. In fact, Bill de Blasio said virtually the same thing as this hag. Nobody paid any attention to it, or if they did they already forgot about it. What made this hag's statement more noteworthy was the race angle -- hence why it was edited the way it was.

Gotta disagree with you on this one. What made this hag's statement noteworthy is that she's a higher up in the administration of our largest city and she didn't in any way try to euphemize it.

Higher up than the mayor himself (de Blasio)? I forget what terminology he used ("community property," maybe) but he said the same thing as she did, minus the racial angle. There is nothing newsworthy about what she said about private property generally, because it's been said many times before including by powerful Democrap pols.

If the stupid bitch had not virtue signalled about racial basis, it might have flown under current Kelo ruling (unless Scotus took the opportunity to overrule that misbegotten precedent). Public purpose covers a whole lot of excuses in takings.

But, otherwise neutral laws, when the people promulgating the rule, ordinance, or law appear to have illegal bias (race, religion, etc.) as the purpose for the action, then are at risk under the equal protection clause. See Church of the Lukumi Babalu Aye, Inc. v. City of Hialeah.

I quote malo gato

people who have ideas can change their minds. they can say “oh, hey, that’s new information, i should revise my view.” this does not challenge their self-conception.

but people who are their ideas cannot. they experience all disagreement and contradiction as a form of personal attack because the lines between the idea and the self are absent. they, quite literally, experience having to change their mind as erasure.

456 I can't address this because I don't know what de Blasio said. Not that he's any kind of ethical paragon.
Posted by: Archimedes

FWIW, iirc, De Blasio said in an obscure interview something along the lines that he wished he had the power to determine how every piece of property in NYC is used. But (again, iirc, ymmv), he also acknowledged that he did not have that power.

458 That too is another domino likely to fall.

Sharpe).

Griggs. Duke Power was behaving rather poorly, and in violation of the CRA. All SCOTUS needed to do was affirm that, instead they added a math equation for racism as the cherry on top.

459 Section 8 is also cargo cult thinking. Figuring that if you have a poor family live in an affluent area, by osmosis they will become affluent. The only way that works is if they learn the habits of their neighbors.
Posted by: Aetius451AD work phone at January 05, 2026 02:55 PM (zZu0s)

You ain't helping Sections 8 people by putting them in the middle of an affluent neighborhood. You're just hurting non section 8 people.

I'm sure that's the goal of many on the Left.

They want everyone to be equally miserable.

460 Make sure that he uses a cartridge that is big enough to do the job. Some of those hobos have really thick pelts. There are also some Midwest states that require straightwalled cartridges for hobo hunting. I hear the 350 Legend is just right for those states.

45-70, .444 Marlin and .450 Bushmaster are all popular choices in these parts, and plenty of punch for even the hardiest corn-fed wild hobo. Of course, I don't know if I like the idea of Ace running around the woods stroking his "Bushmaster".

461 This may get stomped, but to what extent is Mandami constrained by state authority? Can his minions actually do this stuff or are there limitations to home rule for NYC?

Hochul is on board. She's already said she's going to divert funds from around the state into NYC even more than they're doing right now.

All the DEFINITELY-NOT-socialist Democrats are crossing their fingers and pining their hopes on Madmani.

462 Wow,she's one ugly thing. Don't know the pronoun for this one. For once I am stunned silent!

I do hope this wakes up anyone who voted for this socialist and I pity any homeowner trying to sell property in NYC.

I watched about 2 seconds and was done. Nightmares are made of this.

Thank you, Ace, for this outstanding day of reporting. Wow!

465 >>You can get results without fasting at all.

Sure. Results.

But you can't get the same results of a 24-36 hour fast without fasting.

It's a functional response that you can't achieve through dietary restrictions and exercise alone.

It's not unhealthy in any way to do so and if you have the discipline to adopt the limited fast, you have the discipline to integrate dietary changes / restrictions going forward.

Very little to risk and rewards that can't be achieved in any reasonable timeframe by comparison.

It's a shitty annoying job. I'm VP of my condo board.Posted by: Judge Elric The Blade at January 05, 2026 02:56 PM (iFTx/)

I was once the President of a 30 home HOA in FL. We all built homes with statements on the title as to setbacks and upkeep of yards. That's it. Paid $200 A YEAR to have signs (needing upkeep) in two entrances. That's it! No clubhouse.

All houses had irrigation systems and had to be a certain sq footage. So there was really no excuse not to water your yard. There was one house that did nothing. Pool full of algae and broken fences. Stuff like that. Letters go out and ignored. Yada into perpetuity.

I was treated like I was Hitler,Jr. The only reason two neanderthals did not attack me is because I am a supermodel and my husband and other male neighbor friends would have stomped them (after I stomped first).

No one drove around looking for problems or measuring grass length. I kept getting re-elected because I knew the county laws backwards and forewards and upside down. Plus kept reminding the homeowners they signed into this dinky HOA on the title of their homes.

Twenty years later we moved across the country. No HOA and all neighbors keep up their houses.

Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at January 05, 2026 02:04 PM

Not really. NYers did not vote for Mamdani. Legal and illegal immigrants did.

All part of the Great Replacement. This is how they are taking over cities across the U.S. First started and perfected in cities across Europe.

First they came for Dearborn (MI)... then they came for Hamtramck (MI)... then they came for Minneapolis (MN), then they came for Columbus (OH)... then they came for NYC...

None of this is good for anyone. Not actual NYers and not for Americans. None of us should be happy that Muslims and Somalis and Communists are strategically capturing U.S. cities just like what has been done across Europe.

First they came...

478 I can feel the warmth of collectivism all the way over here in SW Ohio. I guess we are fortunate that she has already revealed the game-plan in such a ham-handed way.

The proponents of collectivism purposefully conflate it with charity, but there is no spirit of agape' (unconditional love) in collectivism. That was displayed by all of Mad-Manny's voters shouting "Tax the Rich!" (That's because they are expecting loot). They were NOT shouting "Help the Poor."

Collectivism consists of the Prideful leading the Envious, all motivated by Hatred, to steal money from the productive.

Nothing g has been captured yet, Eeyore. You have the biggest defeatist attitude here. To which, I must remind you, that “Defeatist cynicism is the attitude that we too know an outcome - we do not. Our Creator expects us to fight for good until HE ends the game, not us.” - RWP

Fight or pout and whine? The choice is yours.
