The Morning Report — 1/5/26

ChavezParot.jpg

Good morning kids. Obviously the gigantic story this morning remains the American raid over the weekend on Venezuela and the capture of its Communist tyrannical thug president Nicolas Maduro, whose regime for more than a decade under him and his predecessor the roasting-in-hell Hugo Chavez, has been a narco-terror state and as such, along with being closely linked and allied to Red China and Iran a major threat to our national security and the security of the western hemisphere. First and foremost , I am overjoyed for the long-suffering Venezuelan people who thanks to President Trump at long last have a chance to restore their nation and culture from the smoking ruin of a failed socialist/communist kleptocracy to once again being among the most vibrant, prosperous and free in Latin America.

Considering the carnage in terms of death and wastage of life caused by all the poisonous narcotics that either originated in Venezuela or were otherwise smuggled into our country via that nation as a hub, the removal of Maduro was more than justified. And just as a reminder. long before President Trump placed a bounty on Maduro, none other than Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants had one on him years earlier.

Along with the destruction of the Iranian nuclear weapons sites, the action to take down Maduro will likely be another jewel in the crown of President Trump's foreign policy triumphs and there are still three years left to his presidency.

The deterrent effect of this operation cannot be overstated. The cartels and kingpins that have historically poisoned the US with drugs are now on notice.

Sure, the US military will continue to bomb their vessels on the high seas. But what scares them more now is the prospect of being captured and then getting shipped to the United States to face justice.

Don’t expect everyone in the United States to cheer this historic event, though.

Ever since the failed experiments to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan, neo-isolationists in Washington have warned that America must avoid regime change at all costs. Their howls of disapproval can be expected in the days and weeks to come. For now, Trump intends for the United States to run the government in Venezuela until a suitable government can be installed. And that carries with it significant risk.

If Venezuela unravels, Trump will be blamed. If the wider region descends into chaos, the president will be saddled with that, too. Will Trump’s base give him the opportunity to improve upon the regime-change failures of his predecessors? He appears determined to try.

In truth, the regime-change controversy is of secondary importance.

Bringing down Maduro was about bringing the Western hemisphere back under the influence of the United States. Maduro was not just the head of a narco-state. He was an ally of America’s nastiest enemies. n fact, Maduro met with a senior Chinese delegation in Caracas shortly before he was captured by US special forces.

But Maduro’s regime was not just an ally to China. The regime in Caracas was also a valuable partner to other rogue states like Russia, Cuba and Iran.

Even the Republic of Turkey, a notoriously unreliable NATO ally, has been an ally to the Maduro regime.

The government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the fifth member of Venezuela’s “Fabulous Five” — the countries that helped prop up the Venezuelan strongman. One or more of these regimes may try to exploit the vacuum in Venezuela.

They may not be able to restore Maduro to power. But they can try to make America pay a price for ousting their ally. The Trump administration must bare its teeth now, and warn them to keep out.

If done right, the ousting of Maduro will weaken the influence of America’s adversaries in our hemisphere. It will deprive the cartels of a transit hub for shipments to the United States. And it will deprive our enemies of a valued ally.

If that’s how things play out, not a bad start to 2026.

Now just to play devil's advocate for a moment . President Trump has indeed reasserted and reinvigorated the spirit of the Monroe Doctrine. Now, if taking Maduro out along with the rise of Milei, Bukele and Kast, which hopefully leads to the ouster of Lula in Brazil and who knows, even the fall of Communism and the ultimate liberation of the tropical gulag of Cuba.

While the Red Chinese have been worming their way into our hemisphere, what if Xi and the Chi-Coms ultimately do make a move to take Taiwan, could they not then if not right now cite the President's actions against Maduro as justification?

And of course it's a good thing to check the rise of communism abroad especially in our own hemisphere but then again, look what the hell is going on right here at home in NYC!

So We bagged Maduro. Can we put the bag on Soros and decapitate the leadership of Antifa, BLM, the ACLU/SPLC/CAIR and the DNC???

Have a great day.

And lastly, a quick shout-out and a huge thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

If - and *only* if - we get a reliable new government in place and ourselves out of there with minimal military engagement.

Like we did with the Dominican Republic in 1965.

If it turns into a failure (communists remain in charge, it's a major war, we try 'nation building', etc.), the jewel is going to be pretty brown.

++++
Sure, probably. The justification will be weak, but the reality won't be. This is the same reason Russia invaded Ukraine. The major powers have their spheres of influence and the "action" is always on the interfaces of those spheres.

It's why we have the "Monroe Doctrine," which made it oddly explicit. It's why Central Asia has been the nexus of conflict for more than a thousand years and why empires always collide there. We have the Monroe Doctrine and get involved when someone tries to work his way in to a place we see as in our sphere. So does Russia. So does China. So does Iran. Major powers defend their spheres. Always have, always will.

Focus.

Right now, the Enemedia and the Left are trying everything they can do to end from the public's mind any thought of mass deportations.

So they will redirect the rage to anyone else. Even squirrel chasers on our side will think that it is utterly impossible to do more than two things at once and will say "idicte those who made this happen".

This is where Gell-Mann amnesia kicks in. Is Hillary, Comey, Soros, Clapper, Brennan ANYBODY in prison or being on a court docket? What makes anybody think for one moment that a Demonic Party Elite will even have to call their lawyer?

Don't fall for the scam and ignore the tens of millions of parasites still here and being left off the hook because sights are placed on the Too Big To Jail cohort.

I'm surprised if this is true. Of course, his army of bureaucrats that are central to the whole affair will still be there.

Behind every theft of taxpayer dollars, there are three parties:
1 Bureaucrats
2 NGOs (and their support organizations like law firms)
3 The putative guilty party/beneficiary

The Somalis in this example are in group 3. Some of them may go down. Even Walz might go down, though that would be unusual. Groups 1 and 2, however, are fully-staffed, rested and ready for the next round. They are never punished. Hell, they are rarely even identified.

Perhaps. I doubt it was a major factor. Venezuela is very important in two things that the administration cars about a *lot*:
1. Drug trade
2. The trade system between Red China, Russia and Iran. Venezuela is in the middle of a lot of that, and its own oil flows courtesy of it.

My bet is that the second item is the primary driver of this.

And yes this mission serves notice to all the bad actors to behave. Which segues into this little statement from Sec. of State Dean Rusk in 1966 to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee:

I cannot tell you how important it was to the peace of the world that the President of the United States, ... , be believed when they say to the other side: "Gentlemen, this you must not do." Because, if we ever get to a point where that simple statement is not believed, then I don't know where the future and safety of this country is, or the possibilities of general peace would exist.

Nah, they didn't script wide right. Seeing the game, they didn't want Aaron against Houston b/c he's gonna get killed and it will be 35-3 by the end. Lamar has more big play and dazzlingness that could keep a Houston defense on its heels and a game close. Next Monday night is gonna be a snooze...

99 There is speculation that there's a cartel connection there.

Of course cash money has a deep connection to election corruption.

The majority of drug sales are in cash. Cash is difficult to launder straight up since no one takes a duffle bag full of cash to a real-estate closing. Someone is going to ask questions about piles of cash. Think about civil asset forfeiture where legitimate people take cash to auctions and have the fuzz confiscate it.

So what to do with cash? One way is to buy elections and purchase of elections is easy to do with cash. Cash goes to ballot stuffers / bundlers, those who "count" ballots and those who drive vans of illegals to voting booths and vouches for each paid voter.

Drug cartels are integral to managing elections.

And btw, this business of having your starting QB play only the first snap to keep their string of starts intact, as Buffalo did with Josh Allen, is really kinda BS and shouldn't even count. I know they do it in other sports as well.

Then he will run for - and win - governor so he will finally have wide enough powers to prevent his plans from being stymied by the enemies of the people.

Another is the input for 2 burner Coleman stove fuel generators. They make a nice little nest in there for the off season stored in the garage. Result: No worky at Jellystone. Much drama, kids wailing they want pancakes w/ maple syrup.

171 The officiating in the NFL is so wretched there’s something majorly wrong. I can’t decide if it’s just simply a matter of too many rules and basic incompetence… or corruption. Or maybe a combo…. The NFL needs full time refs and fewer rules because right now it’s a clown show

Posted by: LinusVanPelt at January 05, 2026 08:13 AM

In the IND-HOU game yesterday, IND WR Alec Pierce was having a career game. Late in 3rd quarter, he had what he thought was his 3rd TD of the game, but he was out of bounds. He went up to the ref in the area and argued his case and his arm barely touched the refs' elbow. The ref said nothing but took out his flag.

By rule, can't touch a ref, so 15-yard penalty. But they also disqualified Pierce from the game for that. It was ridiculous. The rule is in effect for egregious bumping of refs or something, not for accidental contact like that.

Castro was ready to nuke the US with a pre-emptive nuclear attack in ‘62. They knew Cuba would be destroyed, and they didn’t care. It was the Soviets who had to reel everyone back in, and take physical control of the ICBM sites.

There is speculation in the webz Trump intends to send Maduro back to Venezuela to get justice at the hands of those he brutalized. DJT will wait until there is a stable-enough Venezuelan Govt to try and you-know-what Maduro.

Makes sense to me. It may take forever to bring Maduro to trial, given leftist legal shenanigans. Not good. If he's tried in NYC, conviction is far from certain. If Maduro is acquitted, what does PDT or Vance do with him? I think we're better off shipping him back to Caracas for justice, when the time is right.

It’s been done quietly, but Venezuela has been cultivating a very close relationship with Hezbollah for years now - they were transatlantic drug trafficking partners, and Venezuela has allowed Hezbollah to set up a western hemisphere base on a former resort spot known as Margarita Island.

So it’s not surprising at all to hear them sounding just like Hezbollah on this. Btw, one more great reason for taking Maduro out.

It's hard to shift a refinery from heavy, sulfurous stuff to lighter stuff. We're quite good at refining heavier stuff, in part because of our need to process Venezuelan oil. If this play works and Chevron can go back in there and rebuild, nobody is going to lament the inefficiency of refining Venezuelan oil.

The Red Chinese who built a lot of infrastructure to refine Venezuelan oil might not be thrilled at the conversion costs for different supply, though.

Gay guys hiring "hot" other gay guys to work and sleep with
Picking gay candidates because they are leftwing
Or picking leftwing candidate of whom a lot are gay

He loaded up the state oil company with friends and family and then started bribing other countries with cheap oil

But because no professionals were running the oil company and no money was being spent on upkeep or upgrade, Venezuela's oil production collapsed.

389 The stuff that came out of the ground in Saudi, the “light sweet” crude needed minimal refining, it was basically diesel. Somebody told me it could be pretty much be run in the old school multi fuel engines. Maybe filter it through cheese cloth or something.

“Cracking” allowed for much better utilization of a barrel of oil, which supplies everything from tar to make asphalt roads and roof shingles, to lighter ends like kerosene and gasoline.

But they can’t turn those refineries on and off like a switch, they have to be setup right. I suppose it would be easier to convert a heavy refinery setup to process the good stuff, or it could be done. But the components for the reverse just aren’t there.

A slow and methodical transition back to democracy without having to put thousands of boots on the ground. Just a bunch of boats with weapons floating off the coast and a warning.

446 UN Secretary General António Guterres will vacate the position at the end of 2026, with several candidates set to lobby to take the job, which will be decided by the five permanent members of the security council: the US, UK, France, Russia and China.

The organization had heavily hinted that they wanted a woman to take the job for the first time in its history, noting when they opened the race it had 'regret that no woman has ever held the position of secretary-general.'

They also blatantly stated that 'member states are encouraged to strongly consider nominating women as candidates.'

"Whatever happens to the Bolivarian revolutionary experiment, however far it goes, to whatever extent it succeeds Hugo Chavez will always be remembered for his role in bringing together Latin America in opposition to US imperial domination." From Hugo Chavez: 'Gone for a Year, But Still Looming Large,' 3/2013, NLG org Blog

I know China wasn't such an influencer a quarter of a century ago, but Venezuela has been a thorn for the U.S. for quite sometime, and then an influencer in its own right.

(Side note: In the late 1990's and early 2000's, young US citizens (for one) were commonly marrying Venezuelan "undocumented" immigrants to be able to get them back into the US legally after a period of time.

AI Overview, PEW, etc.
Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans have come to the U.S. since 2000, with a massive surge after 2010 due to Venezuela's crisis, growing from about 95,000 in 2000 to over 900,000 by 2023, with nearly 700,000 arriving after 2015, many seeking refuge from severe economic and political turmoil. (There all many more, of course.)

No choice for me but to watch the next developments.

Q to AI: How much do realtors have to do with NYC rent rebellion and Zohan Kwane Mamdani's (mmm mmm mm!) platform?

>AI: "Realtors and the real estate industry were central to the NYC "rent rebellion," not as rebels, but as the target of the FARE Act (Local Law 119), which banned landlords from passing their broker fees to tenants, aiming to reduce tenant upfront costs by making landlords pay for their own brokers. Realtors opposed the law, fearing it would increase rents or reduce housing access, leading to industry lobbying against the legislation that ultimately became law, shifting massive costs from tenants back to landlords and creating major industry changes."

>The Housing Market Has New Rules. Realtors Are Evading Them. New York Times Podcasts, April 29, 2025

Affect on billionaires? Meh. ZKM's people know better.

Zohran Mamdani's proposed citywide rent freeze and tenant protection policies are designed to significantly affect landlords, including large property owners and 'potentially' billionaires, by tightening profit margins,

463 increasing regulatory oversight (Mayor's Office to Protect Tenants), and shifting focus from owner profits to tenant well-being, potentially reducing overall investment appeal for some property types. While intended to help average renters, economists warn these measures could reduce housing supply, raise rents on uncontrolled units, and strain small landlords, while large-scale developers might slow new construction due to reduced returns, impacting the broader market.
