I knew a Venezuelan MD well in FL. A caring, Christian man. He married an American woman and became a US citizen. He despised Chavez and I can only imagine what he thought of Maduro.
The day Chavez won he said, "That's the end of the country I knew." He then worked on getting his parents out and to the US. This was back in the early 90's. So I know somewhere in FL he is thrilled today.
He came from an affluent family in Maracaibo, as he told me of his grandparent's house. How wonderful it was to grow up there. His love of place. Javier, I hope you can now go back to visit with your children and grandchildren without fear.
